Failed my 1 hr test today Going back for the 3 hr next week. Anyone in the same boat? Or has anyone ever passed the 3 hr after failing the 1 hr? I know I'm at greater risk for GD with twins + family history but still holding on to some hope..
I have not gone and completed a gd test for this pregnancy. For my twin pregnancy, I failed the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour with no issue. That being said, it is all up to each person and how their body is handling this particular pregnancy.
I did my 1hr GTT today, so I don't have results yet, but hold out hope plenty of my patients pass thier 3hr! Do you know what your 1hr glucose levels was?
I failed the 1 hour last week, but passed the 3 hour a few days ago. Try not to eat a lot of sugar for a few days and drink a lot of water the day before!
I haven’t had my glucose test yet with this one - but one of the girls I work with is pregnant. She actually just had her 3 hour test after failing the 1 hour and she passed! Good luck!!
Both of my previous pregnancies I failed the one hour and had to take the three hour but passed both times. I’m hoping this time I pass the first time with just the one hour. Best of luck with your test 3 hour test!
I had my blood drawn for my one hour two days ago. I think I'll get results on Monday. Wish me luck!

Me and DH: 30-35 Unexplained infertility TTC #1 since 2015 11/2015 - BFP! 12/2015 - MC IVF #1 July 2017 freeze all (20 eggs, 15 mature, 10 fert, 6 blasts, 4 PGS normal) FET #1 TBD Surprise BFP 9/2017 while waiting for FET... hoping for the best!
With my son, I was told not to fast before the 1 hour. The problem with this is that, if you've eaten, your glucose level is already elevated. In theory, they could do a finger prick or draw blood for a baseline, have you drink the stuff, then draw again in an hour to see how your body has processed ONLY the drink. My office did not, and still does not, do a baseline. Everyone I know failed the 1 hour because of this, even if they didn't have GD. But they went on to pass the 3 hour (unless they really had GD)
I said screw that. My dad is diabetic so I've lived through 26 years of his blood work. I'm pregnant, not dying. We preggos CAN actually go a few hours without eating and live lol So I fasted from probably 10-11pm the night before with my 1 hour test at about 8am the next morning. I passed the 1 hour 'with flying colors'. I intend to do the same thing this time around. If they won't test for a baseline, there is no way that the 1 hour can be accurate without fasting.
My incredibly rambling point with this lol is that most offices kind of set you up to fail the 1 hour, so don't sweat it! You'll probably pass the 3 hour with no problems!

Passed my 3 hr test today, thanks for the encouragement! Good luck to everyone! I failed the 1 hr by over 30 points but passed each one today by 40 points. So don't get too bummed if you fail the 1 hr!
I passed my 1hour this time, I was a little upset because I had asked about scheduling it at my January appointment and they said we would schedule at my next appointment. I got there and they had that warm drink sitting out for me. I had only eaten a yogurt and drank half a cup of coffee so I was lucky... i failed my GD test with my first son cuz they told me not to worry about fasting and my dumb ass drank a vente java chip frap before the test... do know how much sugar was in that? Lol I went on to pass the 3 hour test.
I've definitely heard of people passing the 3 hour after failing the 1 hour. I'm sure you can do it! Good luck.

I failed the 1 hour this time. I had to do it twice because the lab didn’t test my blood sugars the first time. They input all the other shit off the requisition, just not the main important one. So I get to go 3 times! Lucky me. Also, it takes weeks to get an appointment so by the time I get the results from the fasting test I’ll be 32 weeks.
