I don't know which category this goes under but, I am so frustrated that we haven't had the time or money to replace the stuff that got ruined after our apartment flooded! I went from this is our third so we are set for everything but carseat and diapers/wipes to well heck I now need to replace stuff like crib sheets, newborn clothes that smell like the chemicals they use to prevent mildew( I washed them several times before tearfully throwing them away), and all my breastfeeding stuff that was not worth saving after being waterlogged. Oh and renters insurance doesn't cover minute things like this fyi. I have enough to make it work out but I still feel less prepared than I did in December. But hey at least I am no longer considered high risk since we are now just measuring a week and a half ahead.
@sassypants2010 you deserve all the categories! The only thing I can think of is look for any and every sale you can. Since it was all going to be second hand anyways, maybe Goodwill may have some stuff?? Just spitballin here, but I feel for you
Well I just got my first "are you sure there's just one in there?!" comment, and I'm all sorts of pissy now. Yes, this is 2018 not 1918. It also came from a coworker who's in our medical department, soooo she should know better.
@stlbuckeye132 I got that one from H's grandpa at about 25 weeks. I told him that since I had a baby big enough to have a shot at survival outside the womb, yeah, I was going to be showing. MIL's latests have been, "Do you feel HUGE? I CAN'T BELIEVE you have two months left!" (And no, not in the "whoa, that's coming right up" way) and she saw a real estate agent. She asked her when she was due. She's due the day before me. "I told her, 'Oh, my daughter-in-law is due the day after you and she's much, MUCH bigger!'" Yeah, turns out there are some growth issues, I suspect probably IUGR so MIL made us both feel like crap in one comment.
The president of my company just asked me how much leave I'm taking. "Eight weeks? Ten?" Lol. No. 12. I've been working for 20 years. I worked for this baby for 2 years. I'm going to take some freaking time to enjoy it. Oh, and having surgery in there, too. It's not my problem that you guys have decided to completely upset the apple cart and when I planned this, there was nothing out of the ordinary happening during my leave and now it's going to be crazy times and it would be more convenient if I came back earlier. Nah. I was a good worker last year and my bonus was still down nearly 20%. I've seen how I get rewarded.

@stlbuckeye132 my aunt who has serious foot in mouth syndrome but is the only person who doesn't realize it went there many times during my brothers wedding weekend. She made it a point to tell me that I'll definitely be delivering early with how big the baby is. Then she told my parents I would need to watch myself after the birth that I don't get adult onset diabetes. The baby has measured 4 days small the entire pregnancy thank you very much and my weight gain has been right on track so I think I'm ok!! I just don't understand why people think they can comment on your belly!!!

@stlbuckeye132 Oh God, people really need to shut up. I get the "you look small for twins!" a lot and it's a bummer because both have IUGR like @kiki75's real estate agent, so it's really hard to respond to those comments (also I've gained almost 40 pounds, so... not really that small for twins but whatever!). I'm like, I know you meant that as a compliment, but I think the best way to handle talking to pregnant people is to not talk about their bodies at all, eh?
@kiki75 Good for you! Take your full 12 weeks, no way you should give up that time you've earned to bail your job out of a mess they didn't need to get into.
AFM, I'm giving birth to 2 kids sometime in the next 3 weeks, and MH's business partner has taken it upon herself to try to bully us into moving 2-3 hours south to make her life more convenient. 2-3 hours south, where rent is 2-3x the cost of where we currently live, where traffic sucks, where we have no friends, no life, where we would not fit in and have no desire to live. I'm feeling ever so slightly pissed and emotional about this, perhaps because, as she well knows, I'm about to have 2 kids. And this, from someone who calls herself our "friend". Awesome and very considerate timing, friend!
Mine this week is all the coworkers and clients that have been coming in to my job sick. I’m Lysoling like every half hour. @vflux33, she definitely sounds like a TW! I also agree with everybody commenting on my body. I was wearing a full maternity outfit yesterday and my boss was like “whoa you look huge today.” I know she doesn’t mean it like that and is just concerned I’ll deliver early (might have to start scaling back my workload to have less to reassign once I go on leave) but she’s not the only one. One client today started suggesting the most off the wall names and seemed to get offended when I explained that we already have a shortlist of nice, simple to spell names. Then there’s the ones who insist on rubbing my belly (complete strangers and family alike). I’m over people in general right now.
@maelily15 I still think my maternity shirt featuring a hand with a red slash through it on the belly is the best thing I bought for this pregnancy. I HATE belly-touchers!!!
@cford08 She said "babies are easy to move"! (Doesn't have kids so clearly her opinion on that is legit). She is one of those people who thinks everything that someone else--but not her-- has to do is easy. He told her no, obviously... she is pretty batty... lucky for me MH is not a pushover and isn’t going to allow her to screw up our lives like that. I mean, even if it weren't for all the other reasons, we flat out can't afford to live there--it's not something we can even consider.
So I think the consensus here is that everyone sucks! Can we just hide out in a hole somewhere until we all give birth? But then the parenting "advice" will kick in... ugh. It's never going to end!
@kiki75 your MIL sounds delightful! My manager's boss also made a similar comment to me earlier this week asking if I was taking six weeks off. No, twelve. "Wow! 12 weeks!!" ....yep.
@KZ1126 I love how other people know exactly how we "should" look. I wanted to reply to the lady who commented on my size, "actually I just had my fundal height and weight checked yesterday and they're both right on track! Thanks for your concern!" but instead I just said, "yes, I'm sure there's only one." I wish I had more guts haha
@vflux33 I agree that not commenting on anyone's size, pregnant or not, is a good general rule in life. Unless you're giving a compliment like, "wow you look great!" Those are acceptable, and I will welcome those comments all day long. I also agree with everyone else that YH's business partner is out of touch with reality, and she also has no business telling you how to live your life. I hate that!
@maelily15 why why whyyyy can't sick people stay at home? No one else wants your sickness!
@sassypants2010 I have a ton of extra new born girl clothes. They are hand-me-downs from my cousin and I know I'm not going to use them all. Don't know what the etiquette is for providing mailing addresses, but I'd be happy to send something to you. It's all pink so not sure if that matters to you.
My husbands gramma told MH a couple of months ago that I gained so much weight since we got married and why I'm not dieting. (This was before she even knew I'm pregnant.) well- I have made an effort not to see her since. Last visit to her was in September, and were in her area pretty often. people who can't keep quiet about others weight, just rub me the wrong way. I have a mirror. Thanks for making me feel more self conscious then I already AM!
@sarabeth5678 you are a dear, We are having a boy again though. I appreciate the offer though so very much.
I hate to complain again but I am frazzled with my body! So I went in on Thursday to see my doctor due to intense pelvic pain, i.e. feels like I was grinding broken glass, and found out that in exactly one week I have lost more weight and gained three weeks growth! I now have to have another ultrasound, can barely walk short distances without wanting to puke from the pain, and get to experience the other side of growth concerns since my first 2 were measuring small (due to clubfoot and other orthopedic issues). Hope baby is ok since his head has dropped into my painful pelvis and I am now scared he is a giant compared to my wee babies born at term weighing barely 7lbs.
@paigew123 I'm sorry you're dealing with the rudeness. It's like pregnancy attracts people who want to say stupid stuff! And a family member no less
@sassypants2010 ugh, I feel for you. That imagery is so uncomfortable. Sounds to me like you're really coming to the end of the road here...baby wants out and your body is agreeing!
@paigew123 I wish it were easier for people to understand what things like that cost them. I've been trying to avoid MIL as much as possible. I know she's lonely and would loves visits but I'm not about to go out of my way to get body shamed. Nope!
@sassypants2010 I hope your scan goes well. Any interest in asking your doctor for a chiropractor recommendation? I'm going to one my doula recommended next week. She and my sister (who delivered a 9# baby med free) swear by it for pregnancy and getting prepped for birth.

@sassypants2010 I second Kiki’s recommendation of a chiropractor. They can help with any of the pain- it may take a couple times to get total relief but between all the bone and ligament movement it’s worth a shot.
I don't know if it's just me being bitchy and annoyed with everyone because I'm uncomfortable and miserable or what.. but everyone and their damn opinions on MY pregnancy!! Last night I had a lady from my gym, (who hasn't been concerned about my pregnancy at all) decided to text me after I posted a picture on my Instagram of a cheeseburger and fries from Culver's claiming that I hope it's my famous last meal. She texted me saying I shouldn't be eating stuff like that before "pushing" because I'll poop on the table and be so embarrassed... WTF? Is she not aware almost everyone poops? Ummm?? And she's like, "I'm not judging you but...." Yeah. Yeah you are.
And to text me randomly without asking how I'm doing or ever checking in on me the last 9 months...? K. Take your opinion elsewhere.
So weird, @crossfitbabybump. If pooping on the table is your biggest consequences of having a hamburger and a healthy baby, so be it. People worry about the strangest things.
@DDRRT1982 - thank you! She was like, just in case no ones told you. No.. I figured that out on my own, thanks. I'm not stupid, lol. And if I do poop, so what? Am I really gonna know? No. No I'm not.
@crossfitbabybump I don't underfuckingstand why people can't live by the simple rule: If you wouldn't say this to a non pregnant person, don't say it to a pregnant person. Seriously, people, WTF is so hard to get about that??
@crossfitbabybump I gasped out loud. I'm super comfortable talking about poop, but what a psychopath! Also, why do people assume that we're idiots? It drives me crazy when people tell me the most basic information about pregnancy and delivery. I'm well into my adulthood, ma'am and fully aware of the risk of pooping in delivery.
Lastly, are you going to stop eating entirely just to avoid pooping in delivery? NO.
LOL right!? yeah, let me just starve myself for the next unknown amount of time until it's time to push. Don't wanna poop on the table!!!! Psssshhhh.. birthing is easy, who needs energy and food!? SMH... lol
@crossfitbabybump the nerve of some people. I can't believe what they think is ok to say to a pregnant person. I hope the burger and fries were effing amazeballs!!!
@becausescience - of course!!!! Chocolate all the way! that's all I've wanted lately! lol and I would risk pooping on the table for Culver's ice cream any day hahahahaha!
