  • @momma6angels11 Congrats! They are so precious. I hope you are recovering well and the babies are doing great.

@thucks Early well wishes on your delivery this weekend. You are so close!  I hope everything goes as smoothly as possible.

I'm 32 weeks today, nothing exciting going on but a regular checkup on Thursday.

QOTW - I've had many mothers tell me not to get my heart set one way or the other.  I had a laparotomy prior to this pregnancy to remove endometriosis.  Since I already have the large scar, part of me wants to just have that re-opened for a scheduled c-section, but I haven't actually brought that up to my doctor.  As of now, the plan is just to deliver whichever way the doctor feels is best for the baby and myself (with pain medications).
  • Congratulations @momma6angels11 they are perfect  <3
Wishing you the best of luck @thucks on your upcoming delivery  :)
AFM 29+2weeks and nothing much going on besides have a check up Weds. I did pass my glucose test which I'm thankful for since I have PCOS.
QOTW: I will be discussing with my doctor this week about being induced. I take blood thinners and would love to just have a date to go in and just be prepared and not be worried about whether I took my shot and can't get an epidural. I'm not against having a c-section but would like to have a vaginal birth.
  • @rel_1987 are you currently on Levenox? They switched me to Heparin at week 36 so there is a smaller window it's only 4-6 hrs and they have a medicine that can reverse the effects of the Heparin. I take a dose in the morning and a dose at night. So say I take it at 7 I can still get an epidural at 11, typical labor is more than 4hrs so your chances of being able to have an epidural or spinal tap are good with the Heparin. Now I'll go back to Levenox the day after delivery for 6weeks.

  • @momma6angels11 congratulations!!! Funny thing, DH's name is Sean and my mom's name is Willow so I am especially loving those names!

Also @thucks good luck! Excited to see pictures of your baby!

AFM, 28+5 today with the twins. No appointment this week, but I just had my shower on Saturday and cribs put together yesterday so I am in full gear on baby prep mode! My 'plan' was to have everything ready by 30 wks...we'll see if that happens, but I am feeling more confident about being ready by the time the babies do decide to come!

QOTW: I am hoping for a vaginal, planning for a c section, and definitely having an epidural. I figure if I plan for a c section I won't be disappointed if/when it does happen!

Question for twin mamas: I'm currently planning on putting the twins together in the pack n play at night. Planning on having naps be in their own cribs, but at night or when I'm napping as well having them in our room in the pack n play. I've heard conflicting things about how safe it is to have them in there together, but the consensus I'm hoping is most accurate is that it's fine at least until they start rolling over, and that if you orient them with their feet at opposite ends and heads in the middle it's fine until they can sit up on their own and/or are too long to have enough space between them. What have you guys heard/what do you think? I could get a second pack n play or something if it truly is safer for them to each have their own space, but if it's fine for them to share at least until they can roll over that would be WAY more convenient...
  • @thucks I am currently on Lovenox and my doctor won't be switching me to Heparin. This is why I am so set on scheduling an induction. I want to be prepared. I don't really understand his reasoning for not switching me to heparin when it has a shorter life span.
  • @nmtay I'm not a very umm scared mom about all that. I'm defiantly not a germaphob kinda mom either. I put mine together a lot in a pack n play and they used the same bassinet for a while. Mine typically slept better the closer to each other they were. Now that's a different story 4 yrs later but when they were just born they did better closer.

  • @momma6angels11 congratulations on your lovely babies!

I’m 31 weeks this week and I’ve started to experience what people on the web call “lightning crotch”. Feels like my baby is trying to crawl his way out of the womb. I hope that doesn’t mean that the baby is coming early. I only have an appointment with my dietician this week. Next week is my 32-week ultrasound appointment.

QOTW: I don’t have a definite birth plan yet. As long as the baby and I are safe, I’m good. That said it would be nice if I could deliver vaginally as recovery time would be shorter. I’m also turning 40 this year so I’m thinking about baby #2 (getting ahead of myself here) and vaginal would require shorter rest time between pregnancy compared to c-section, too. But ultimately it’s about the safety of my baby and myself and I’ll be happy either way. As for epidural, want to attempt delivery without one but that’s not to prove myself or anything but because I have a huge needle phobia (infertility and gestational diabetes didn’t cure me of that!)

  • I'm at 33 weeks and have 2 appointments this week. One with my OB on Wednesday and one on Thursday with the MFM for another growth scan. We are hoping the girls have grown more in the last couple of weeks and are closer to being 4 pounds. At their last appointment A was 2lb13oz and B was 2lb12oz. As long as they continue to grow and their blood flow looks good they won't induce early.

QOTW: I would love to try a vaginal birth, but I'm ok with whatever we need to do to get the girls out safely and healthy. If we are able to do a vaginal birth, I'm not sure if I want an epidural or not. There are pluses and minuses for it for me, and with A finally starting to move to being head down it's something I'll have to think about again.

@cashewchicken I get the needle phobia! For me the infertility and GD has helped with the phobia somewhat, but I need to prep myself at this point. I've found that a hot hands thing before a blood draw helps it go easier because it bring the vein up to the surface and kind of plumps it up.

  • @momma6angels11 congrats on your beautiful twins! I hope you are all doing well  <3

@thucks how exciting that your baby will be here this weekend! Wishing you all the best and can't wait to see pictures
@rel_1987 yay for passing the glucose test!

AFM I'm 37 weeks now and trying hard to get as much as I can done from my to do list. I'm at a point where I feel like it's never going to happen and trying not to get overwhelmed when everyone keeps asking if I've done this or gotten that yet...

QOTW I'm hoping to do a natural birth without meds. I don't usually like the way I feel on meds or the after effects they sometimes have on me, which is why I'm trying to avoid them. But, as others have said, you never know what will happen day of so I'm open to whatever needs to be done to get baby out safely!

    @momma6angels11 beautifull babies!
  • @momma6angels11 congrats on your beautiful babies!! Loving the name Willow too!!
@thucks early congrats on your delivery this weekend!

I'm 29 weeks today. Well I failed my glucose test...most of my friends have only taken a 1 hour, but doctor does 2 hours ones which is frustrating because I passed the 1 hour and failed the 2 hour. I have a class to go to tomorrow to learn all about it and get my glucometer. I'm kinda bummed because I was planning on delivery at the birth center at UCSD, and now after the 36w scan if it's too big I won't be able to. I have doula, i'm taking hypnobirthing classes etc and I feel Ive spent so much time and money on a natural birth experience already. I'm going to talk to my midwife next appointment about my options-I read that 40-70% of gestational diabetes end up with a c section..I really want to avoid an emergency situation at all costs!

On a brighter note I have my work shower tomorrow
  • @thucks how exciting! I hope you delivery goes a smoothly as possible for both your baby girl and you!  Congrats!!!!

  • @thucks I hope everything goes well!

I had my first NST today for the girls. Unfortunately it was because I've had a really bad headache since Sunday with double vision and floaters so I was sent to the hospital to be tested for preeclampsia. Everything came back normal so the OB at the hospital thinks it was (is) probably just a headache as a result of working 10 hour days doing data entry. He wants me to spend 45 minutes 2x a day with my feet up and not looking at a screen. Plus side I got to find out exactly what a BH feels like since the nurse there pointed one out to me. I've been feeling them off and on for a few days or weeks now, but always thought it was just one of the girls rolling over, lol.
