  • Hello everyone! I will be 28 weeks starting this Saturday (never in a million years thought I would be there!) and I will move on to the 3rd trimester thread!

Here is a pic of my 27 week bump last Friday!

    My TTC journey:
    Me and DH: 30-35

  • @helloworld9 what a cute bump!

@cseley321 donuts sound so good right now! I’m right there with you regarding the constant snacking!!

Had the anatomy scan today and ooof....it took FOREVER! Baby was not cooperating...moving all over the place so they couldn’t get good measurements and then not moving when they wanted him/her to. Stubborn little thing! Ended up being there for almost 3 hours!!! Got the gender results in an envelope and will be passing them to our friend tomorrow for a gender reveal on the 17th!
  • @cseley321 Ha that's a funny story! What names are you thinking?

@mtpbadger My AS went the same way! The baby was like facing inward so I couldn't get a cute profile picture. :( Really curious about the gender!

  • Enjoy the third tri @helloworld9 every week is a great accomplishment
@cseley321 donut!! Lol that's too cute!
@mtpbadger 3 hours?? Ouch!! I had my anatomy scan last week & for once my little bean cooperated at a scan.
  • Donut! Love it. :) kids are adorable. I ate the whole kitchen sink today. Baby wanted to eat all the things. Costco berry sundae for dessert. Happy Monday everyone!
TTC 4 years. 7 failed IUI's with either Clomid, Femara and/or Trigger Shots. Started IVF journey in February 2017. Polyps removed in May. 1st IVF Transfer September 26th. BFP. Expected due date 6/14/18. Baby boy born 5/25/18 at 6 lb 9 oz. My bundle of joy.
  • @coco305 yup, 3 hours. Everytime they went to take a pic of the little one or measure, s/he would wiggle away or completely roll. So that took forever. And then when they needed to take the head measurements, the little one wouldn't move so they could  measure. They had me walk around, empty my bladder, drink water, eat something, inverted me, and ended up having to do a transvaginal to get the final pictures and measurement of my cervix. I thought I was done with those ones!!

  • @helloworld9 honestly I just don't love anything yet. I let my husband pick with my other child. I am sure it will come to me one day... hopefully before the baby arrives
  • @cseley321 Donut  :D Love it! Maybe you can use it as a nickname later :)

I'm 22w4d today, and finally starting to form a small bump. It's still pretty easy to hide, but it's there :)
Legs and hands swell some. Legs mostly during the day, and fingers at night. I'm trying to eat more fiber, drink more water, and less salty things
I skipped prenatal massage last weekend (my therapist is out of town), and I'm starting to lock up at night again - all numb and tingly and need to toss every half an hour. We're going on "babymoon" on Feb 17th, and it's a pretty long flight, so I scheduled a massage a day before we depart to hopefully make the trip a bit more comfortable. Hoping we'll be able to upgrade out seats too.
Usually by now people have food cravings, but so far I mostly have aversions - I'm hungry, yet nothing looks good, it's frustrating! At least fruit sounds good most of the time, but I need to start following doctor's orders and eat more protein at some point...
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My story in signature spoiler. Children mentioned.
    Me: 37 DH: 45
I don't produce FSH, so no natural menstrual cycle. DH has reduced morphology.
Summer 2014 IUI (with first husband): cancelled after almost a month of stims due to too many follicles
Time off to divorce, get back on my feet, find a new hubby and get married again 💑
    March 2017 IVF#1: ~70 follicles, 13R, 10M, 7F, 3B = 2 PGS Normal (both XY) - no transfer due to ohss
    Sept 2017 FET#1: BFP, Beta#1 (10dpt) - 253, Beta#2 (12dpt) - 528, DS born 05/31/2018 👨‍👩‍👦
    Dec 2019 FET#2: BFN
Changed clinic, planning March 2020 IVF#2 - postponed due to the pandemic
    April 2020 IVF #2: ~30 follicles, 24R, 12M, 8F, 4B = 2XY & 2XX, all normal  <3
    Sept 2020 FET#3: one XX embryo, BFP, Beta#1 (9dpt) - 161, Beta#2 (11dpt) - 519, Beta#3 (19dpt) - 7174, Due date 05/30/2021
DD born 05/23/2021 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 - My family is now complete <3
  • @helloworld9 you look great!! So cute! I can take over leadership for this board until I graduate to 3rd trimester :)

AFM, 21 Weeks! We had a fun getaway from Sunday-Tuesday to a waterpark, DS had a great time, it was a lot of fun :)
  • @cseley321 I'm sure something will come up later!

@FuzzyDust The bump will keep growing! And more and more people will start to notice for sure.

@TravelingCouple YAY! So glad you are taking lead.

  • @helloworld9 baby bump looks gorgeous!!

@cseley321 considering all the unique celebrity baby names out there, I think Donut would be adorable! ;-)

@mtpbadger wow 3 hours!! For the gender results, did you just not look at the monitor while they were measuring?

@Holls214 LOL I thought you were going to say that you were going to get a donut too now.

@FuzzyDust I’m sorry you’re having food aversions. I don’t feel like I’m craving anything either. I had random cravings before getting pregnant so wanting a sprite or piece of chocolate is normal.

17w3d and I can’t sleep well through the night. I toss and turn and nothing feels comfortable, even with my u-shaped pillow. I’ve added pillows and removed pillows and I’ll just keep trying. The other night I woke up on my back and my hand was numb. It makes me anxious that sleeping on my back could hurt the baby, but I figure I wake up because something’s uncomfortable or wrong. Reminded me of @Hopeful_mom’s story last week.  Luckily I have my next OB appt next Tues so I can hear the heartbeat again. <3

In other fun news, I had a really big breakfast before I went into work yesterday so I was uncomfortably bloated. (When will I ever learn to not have big meals?!) I walked into my coworker’s office for a meeting and she shouted in surprise that I was showing. LOL Oh dear. I know she meant well. I replied that most of it was my food belly and from being bloated. Otherwise bump is fairly small when I’m not eating an enormous plate or bowl full of carbs.

@jr102217 the tech told us when to look away anytime he got near that area. I really hadn’t had any gut feelings about the gender but for some reason am now thinking it’s a girl. Guess I’ll find out next week if I’m right!

I hear ya on the sleep. I am a stomach or back sleeper and not being able to do either is killing me. I’m good for a few hours once I fall asleep, which takes forever, but if I happen to wake up I can’t fall back asleep for the life of me. Today I’ve been up since 3am. Thankfully the weather is just crappy enough that we were allowed to telework so I’m camped out on the couch with my laptop.

AFM - 19 weeks today! I think I felt the first REAL kick this morning and not just flutters. It was stronger than I’ve felt before and made me so excited and emotional! I still can’t believe I get to carry this baby and experience all these incredible moments.
  • @jr102217 & @mtpbadger ugh I hear you on the sleep!  I don't need to go to the bathroom as much but if I wake up because I'm uncomfortable I go and can't fall back asleep.  I am a stomach sleeper too I'm 21 weeks....it's going to be a long few months.  The only perk I see is that maybe all my moving rocks the baby to sleep so maybe he/she won't have their nights and days as confused, hahah wishful thinking :)

and baby kicks are seriously the BEST @mtpbadger!!
  • @mtpbadger yay for feeling the baby kick! :)

@Aera11 @mtpbadger not being able to fall back asleep isn't fun. Knock on wood that I haven't had this issue yet. Prior to getting pregnant and in the first trimester, if I had trouble falling asleep, I'd go read on the couch and fall asleep sitting up. Big thing is trying to calm my heart rate and breathing to be able to fall asleep again. Have you tried any of those techniques? I wear a fitbit so I can see when I've been restless, which is so often now.

What's the difference between feeling the baby kick, gas, or round ligament pain?
  • @jr102217 I think the RLP is sharp & definitely more in the groin or even when it's centered, it's still sharp.  The kicks are like little taps; I feel like mine don't feel like flutters but definitely a tapping from inside.

its hump day bump day!! Let's see those bumps -- mine is currently full of pancakes  :D
  • @jr102217 I have a meditation app that I put on before bed and will use if I wake up in the middle of the night to fall back asleep. It usually helps to fall asleep in the beginning and is hit or miss if I wake up. Kicks are like little thumps....definitely more pronounced than the flutters I was feeling, which felt like little bubbles popping or popcorn popping.

Well ladies....I feel like the other shoe might be dropping. Just got a follow up call from my OB from the anatomy scan and have a referral to a MFM. One, because they couldn't get good pics of the brain due to the position of the baby (which is why it was taking so freaking long) but two, because they might have seen an amniotic band on the ultrasound which can be an issue. She said for right now, it's not a huge concern, which I'm assuming means it hasn't attached to the baby but still could and it still shot my stress level up. Thankfully I was able to get an appointment tomorrow afternoon so I won't have to worry and go down the "what-if" rabbit hole for TOO long.

  • @mtpbadger glad you got in so fast. Maybe they couldn’t see well since babes was not positioned right.
Baby movement definitely feels like popcorn popping at first. Once you start feeling it all the time I realized he was moving for a long time and it wasn’t actually gas. :)
here’s my hump day bump day pic at 22 weeks. My love handles are out of control right now argh.

  • oh I am so glad they can see you tomorrow @mtpbadger!  what is an amniotic band? I'm going to need to google that!

    looking good @Holls214!!

here's my HDBD @ 20w6d -- trying on my maternity suits for my sisters bachelorette party in two weeks

  • @Aera11 love it and love that suit. It’s a keeper.

  • @mtpbadger I'm so sorry for the stress, what does an amniotic band mean? Keep us updated!
  • From the little research I’ve done (I didn’t want to go down the google rabbit hole) it basically means that a piece of the amniotic sac has come lose and it like a string that can possible be wrapped around part of the baby which can cause deformities depending on where it attaches. I think it had attached to the baby somewhere, my OB would have said something so I’m hoping it’s either just nothing at all or it’s just there but not impacting the baby yet. I’ll keep you all updated!
  • @mtpbadger you're update is super scary and I know that feeling of just waiting for the other shoe to drop BUT the good thing is that its been caught so hopefully it'll be nothing after all is said and done!!  So far your OB isn't worried so try to rely on that.  So glad you're being seen tomorrow - will be thinking of you sending all positive vibes your way!!

@holls214 omg how cute is your TINY bump and you say love handles HA...when I get braver I'll show u a love handle lady ;)  my bump is still coming together to be one!  I have to try and get a good one!

@fuzzydust I was trying to think if I was having cravings too BUT since I could barely eat anything in the first trimester I'm just happy with whatever I can enjoy!  I still enjoy fruit and more salty things then sweet.

@helloworld9 how freaking awesome do you look, what a perfect bump!  I swear all you ladies have been blessed just gaining your bump and not all the extra weight even through IVF.  I guess doing 5 cycles in a row didn't help my initial weight gain.  You look super cute!  Thanks for being such a great leader we will miss you - can't believe you're already heading over to 3rd tri so exciting!!!  Can't wait to see you over there!!!

@TravelingCouple thanks for taking over the reins!  Glad you enjoyed your getaway!

@aer011 how AWESOME do u look - what a cute suit!  Your bump is fantastic, I love it!

@jr102217 feeling the baby move is truly the best feeling ever.  For me it felt like a light tap tap, that came prior to the fluttery feeling.  Its a light thumb..usually 2 come together, at least mine did.  After week 20 I feel like I really starting feeling full flips and everything.  Not as constant as I would like so dont worry if you dont feel it super often in the beginning too.

@cseley321 donut!! who doesn't love a good donut!  A girl after my own heart :)

AFM: I'm 23 weeks today yay!!  Its been a week full of testing for me and baby!  OB had me go to a cardiologist since i was complaining of my breathing.  Wore a heart monitor for 24hrs and had an echo for myself...waiting to hear the results.  Assuming all is ok.  My Dr hears my hyperventilating in my breathing and believes its all from anxiety and stress.  He knows with everything I've been through why...but still says I need to try to relax...so lets hope I can work on that.
Had baby's echo today and at first the baby wasn't in the right position BUT then baby did a flip and all went smoothly!  Since this was done in the hospital and english was not the womans first language she really didn't walk me through what she was doing BUT she knew I was nervous and said I should be able to sleep easy tonight SO I'm just going to stay positive and hope all is ok!

Do any of you feel pressure by your vag?  It makes me nervous at times.  My OB said its normal to feel a kick or whatever sensation...everything I feel movement wise is usually up high which makes sense but when its so down below it worry's me...especially since it still so early in the game!

  • @Hopeful_mom I'm definitely having pressure everywhere! Everything feels like it's stretching and growing
  • @hopeful_mom i'm feeling pressure all over too including down by my vag - I think it jst means everything is growing!
  • Not horrible news but not great news. There is a band near its head but it's not impacting baby and the dr thinks as baby grows it'll just move out of the way. It's sort of restricting the head but not really....the baby is either lazy or stubborn and could move around it if it wanted. Everything else looks good and I'll go for monthly scans with the MFM to monitor growth and progress. She said she’s not too concerned so my stress level isn’t completely zero but it’s less than it was yesterday!
  • @mtpbadger ok things still seem ok.  Does your OB do US too?  Would you feel better if you could be seen every 2 weeks to check?  Do what will put your stress level at ease!  Anything other then hearing perfect will make you nervous but at least they are seeing what they need to early on!

@TravelingCouple @mtpbadger thanks for the response I just feel like the baby will kick me by my belly button and then feel it by my vag so its strange.  I'm looking up where my bladder is located as I literally think the baby finds it and squeezes it making me have to go right after I already go  :D  I had a very loud sneeze and then had a sharp pain by my groin right after...it just freaks me out.  I hate that I'm scared at any lil thing!  *TW The day of my MC I remember having stretching and I guess it was cramping even though I didn't think it was at first as I was carrying twins and figured they were making room...so I know thats where the fear comes from...just wish I could get past it.

  • @hopeful_mom the dr today said it wouldn’t be worth it to do US that frequently just bc there might not be any change that quickly and could stress me out more. Plus I have my fetal echo next Thursday so I’ll see get a peek at the little one then too which will make me feel better. I was also told to do some stretches (kind of like a plank for an old lady) to see if that gets the baby to move it’s head from the spot it’s currently in. Just trying to relax as much as possible.

When it rains it pours though - my dad is in the hospital for kidney issues and now an ecoli infection so thats been fun to deal with too, especially living halfway across the country. Feb just needs to get over soon. And the fed gov is most likely shutting down which means me and DH will both be furloughed (I’ll get back pay but he won’t as a contractor)
  • @Hopeful_mom Aw thanks! You are such a huge contributor to us IF ladies! I'm glad your appointment went well. Where I'm at now, I feel movement all over. You will get there soon!

@jr102217 The baby kick feeling is really distinct to me. Like really sudden and out of the blue.

    @Aera11 and @Holls214 Cute bumps!!

@mtpbadger You are going through so much. Stay strong! I am sending only positive thoughts your way.

  • Oh I forgot to add! I had my 1 hour glucose test this morning. The beverage isn't that horrible, more like carbonated orange soda. So glad the Labcorp lady was able to poke me just once (and no butterfly needle! That's a first) and get her 4 (!!) vials of blood. Really hoping I pass this because I don't want to get poked multiple times for the 3 hour glucose test if I fail, and I have really hard to find veins. My OB told me I can get my Tdap vaccine too, and I decided to get that at my 30w appointment. Then I registered at the hospital and have to think about classes now. Busy morning, and things are getting real!

  • @mtpbadger I am glad your stress has gone down a bit and that so far everything looks good!  Hopefully baby will move for you.

@helloworld9 thanks!  Sounds like a busy morning!  FX you don't have GD, I am nervous for mine.
  • @mtpbadger How many weeks are you again?  I'm sure the baby is flipping and you just dont feel it.  During the echo my baby was head up and then i felt such a punch and I asked the tech...that cn't be the head and she said...u r correct thats the foot the baby flipped.  So I'm hoping ur lil nugget is moving all about already for you!!  I guess for me I have my OB and MFM appt scheduled every 2 weeks so I'm seeing the baby to try and put my mind at ease.  I didn't get any dopplers as my family knew they'd never be able to get me away from it OR stress me if I couldn't find it

@helloworld9 you have been busy!  Let things keep moving along smoothly for you.  Still excites me this was your surprise bfp :)  I have my glucose test next time not looking forward to it AND mine isn't orange its clear...hoping I'll be able to get it down in the 5 min they say you should.  I'm nervous about that one but hoping for the best!!  I get poked SO MANY times as my veins move around, so I feel your pain! My OB actually drew my blood last time and i was pleasantly surprised!!

You're the first person i've heard on here mention the tdap vaccine - has everyone had that?  My moms friends daughter is preggers and her OB said she has to get it and everyone around her, hubby parents etc.  Did you do that oo.  anyone else?

  • @Aera11 I think I read somewhere only like 5% of pregnant women have GD. But still, it's a chance. :(

@Hopeful_mom I know I sometimes still can't believe I'm still carrying this miracle BFP. It truly is a blessing. I chose a name that means "gift"! He will always be my gift. My glucose drink was clear, but tasted orange. I wonder if that's the case with yours? My OB says the college of medicine recommends the tdap so that it can get your baby vaccinated in utero. She said she recommends my husband get it a month before the baby is born. I figured we might as well get it. I don't know if I will make my parents etc. get it. I feel like as long as I'm getting it that is most important.

  • @Hopeful_mom my OB vaccinates all women for TDAP near the end of pregnancy (32 weeks I think?)
My DH is getting vaccinated, and I'm going to ask my immediate family to get their vaccines updated too.
We had a scare this fall when my 7 year old niece came down with whooping cough (the "P" in TDAP - Pertussis) and my 4 month old nephew (her brother) was exposed. Young babies are the most susceptible from dieing from the illness. Fortunately he never caught it.

@mtpbadger I'm so sorry for all you're dealing with. I hope your Dad recovers quickly. Glad your OB isn't too concerned about the band.
