What tips and tricks do you have that might help other moms?

    The one my MIL taught us is if your baby is being fussy, turn on running water like the kitchen sink and walk/bounce them. Works great for us

    A friend told me about calming a fussy baby in less than 30 seconds: standing in the warm sunlight (obviously facing them away from it to shield their eyes). I have done it a few times and it has worked like a charm, even faster when she is in the boba wrap. She usually ends up falling asleep.

    Run your finger down the bridge of LO's nose to get him or her to close their eyes. Some people use a tissue and drag it lightly down their face.

    Use a haakaa to catch leakage from one side when feeding on the other side.

    The trick about running your finger down bridge of babies nose is literally my go to every morning when trying to half ass get baby back to sleep! Works like a charm ahaha

    Power squats with the baby in front of speakers playing Enya. 

    Putting a heat pack (warmed as if I were using it on my breasts for engorgement) in the swing with the baby.

    @dragonfly87-2 Yup, there is definitely a certain time in sleepiness to try it. Otherwise it has no positive effect and can really tick them off!

    This is more of a mental health tip that's helped me during fussy / sleepless times. I read the quote in Facebook-
    "Little one isn't giving you a hard time; they are having a hard time." 
    Obviously this makes sense but at 2 am when nothing works to calm them, I need this gentle reminder for myself!

    @mymulligan: That's a great quote. For me, reading the Wonder Weeks and recognizing that she is going through changes beyond her control has helped me keep my patience and have more empathy. It is hard at 2am, but trying to remember that helps me calm down too when she is screaming her head off and wanting to cluster feed.

    My baby has a few issues so here's what we found worked. He has reflux and is colicky. For the reflux we do have him on meds because he wasnt sleeping he was in so much pain, but no matter what to keep baby upright for a few minutes after a feeding and we burp by bouncing him on our legs, he responds better to that that patting. His colic kicks in around 430/5p and doesnt stop til we go to bed. We started him on probiotic drops which definitely are amazing. He was on a sample and will be on Gerber soothe drops as soon as they come in. We also use this video (just make sure its not near them because white noise can affect their hearing if its too close) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iim2OkiEJLg&feature=youtu.be

    in addition, running the vacuum, water, etc any kind of noise like that. we also have a shusher (its this little pink thing that shushes so you dont have to lol!) its a god send.

    I also read this whole thing about how fussy, crying babies love you and know that you care about them. They scream because they know you will come help them. I needed that to most during his worst colic times. I was crying. My husband was away for weeks and I had no one around.

    @kaitlinliz Probiotics have helped my son a lot, too. I try to feed him around 5 pm and then he naps through the witching hour and has a better night!

    @NYTino24 i tend to feed him around 5/530 so hell nap around 6/630 but that never happens. he usually wakes up around 5 and then refuses to go back to sleep until its bedtime at 730

    @kaitlinliz Yeah, it's hit or miss with us. Last night was the first time DH and I didn't realize the witching hour had come and gone.
