I presented the idea of doing a four time plus momma check-in and no one was opposed so here we go! How are you mommas doing/feeling/coping? What are the ages of your other children? How does your body feel this time around?
I am 37 and have three kids. A four year old, a three year old (they are 11 months apart) and an 18 month old. My friends call me the crazy one who keeps getting pregnant. Yes, they were all planned. Haha. We have always wanted a big family! But this happened only a few weeks after an chemical pregnancy and we sort of had a reality check and so wanted to put the baby making on hold for a bit, but surprise! It happened when we weren't even trying! It took me a bit to get used to the idea of four kids under five. I'm getting more excited as I get closer to finding out the sex! My body seems to be doing well this go around but I'm not afraid to stay active, go to the gym, and of course I have a few kids to chase after too!
I’m 37 also and have 3 boys! Henry is on 1st grade (7 in April), Isaac just turned 5 and will be in Kindy in the fall, and Rory is 2.5 and will start 3s prek in the fall.
I apways wanted 4 but dh was done with 3, if we’d had a girl he probably would have been snipped lol. But instead I had a surprise minipill pregnancy last fall that ended in mc and after a tough few months he agreed to try. I had a pregnancy this past summer that also ended in mc. Now I’m almost 14w and seem through the risky stage for me. I did the nipt and found out we are having a healthy baby girl! So excited.
Im doing well. This first tri was vastly different - ms etc. I never got the intense debilitating first tri exhaustion but I’m definitely just tired. I’m hoping that going off the progesterone recently will help lighten the nausea. Of course now I have a cold (thanks kids!) my immune system in preg always sucks.
My my kids are good! They are excited! My middle especially.
@pghctwife I'm so sorry to hear about your losses! Yay for ur baby girl! That must be so exciting after three boys! I'm the opposite of you. The one boy and now three girls! We just found out it's another girl for us. Lol. I also had super bad MS with this one, but only recently. I have never had it and I thought I escaped it again but around week 10 it hit me hard, all day especially at night.
I’m 35. This is baby #4! And definitely my last go around.
At 22, I had my first DD. At 26, I had my first MC at 10-11 weeks. At 27, I had my second DD. At 30, I had my third DD.
They will be 4, 8, and 13 when final DD arrives. Quite the spread.
I figured out the other day that my oldest graduates in May of 2023 and this baby starts school in August of 2023. Lol. What have I done. Hahaha.
I feel like symptom-wise, they’ve gotten easier but energy wise, it’s gone downhill. Takes me a little longer each time to get back in shape but it happens.
I never thought I wanted more than 2. #3 was a surprise. And SO wanted just one of his own. And I agreed. One more time. I can’t believe I’m going to be a mom to four. That’s a huge family. Haha. Again. What have I done. Lol.
I finished my MBA when I was 28 (nursed my 2nd a lot while just studying - it was a perfect set up) and have slowly been doing what I love but always take a year off after each baby to nurse and do the mom thing. I am definitely excited to get one last baby on the books and get back to work without anymore pregnancy interruptions.
@dirtanddiamonds wow that's an interesting spread! Super crazy how the schooling is going to turn out!! Congrats on the MBA and your ability to enjoy the mommying thing for a year or so after each baby.
That is one area that I do envy other moms who had more space between their kids, and also moms with one kid. They get to enjoy their kids (even if they think they aren't lol), devote all their time to one kid, and I definitely cannot say that I can do that. I try to look at each day and enjoy this time, and spend one on one time with each kid, but it's tough with them so young. It's probably my only concern with having a fourth. I am alpa looking forward to being done. It feels great to know this is my last babe! And after this I can focus on my career a bit more
@laurasue0513 sometimes I wish they were closer together. Especially when I realized that I have one starting school the year after one graduates. I hope they are all still close. I’m sure they will be. Especially being girls. On the upside, the next time baby fever hits, if I hold out, I won’t be too far from grand babies. Hahaha.
I'm 26. I have 3 kids; 5 year old boy, 4 year old boy, and 15 month old daughter. This one is due before any of their birthdays. I also had my miscarriage before my oldest. My family just asks me every 4 months or so if im pregnant until i am. They all just know it is coming. My oldest was the inky planned pregnancy. The first pregnancy was just i forgot to prevent. My 2nd ds was bc failing. My dd was birth control failing. This one was family planning not working aka i ovulated randomly late. @dirtanddiamonds i agree that these last 2 pregnancies the symptoms are much easier but im exhausted. I cant seem to lose weight without getting pregnant.
