Re: This Is Us 2/4
I feel somewhat relieved to know the story, but it certainly sets up for some future emotional drama
Whose story hit you the hardest this week? Becca’s. I can’t imagine falling apart after my husband’s death and then have to pull myself together to tell my kids. As a military spouse that’s one of my worst fears.
What do you think of the third generation storyline, ie. Tess as an adult?
Im excited to see a new way forward for the show as they kind of wrap up the flashbacks.
@chopchop25 you were kind of right!
How did learning about Jack’s death make you feel after all the build up? I was relieved also to know how it happened but thats not how I thought he was going to die. I thought he would be fine after the fire but die another way.
Whose story hit you the hardest this week? Beccas. I was heartbroken when the doctor came over to her to give her the bad news and she didnt believe it until she saw him in bed. Similar to @meggyme, I am the wife of a first responder so these type of scenarios go through my head all the time. I think thats why it hit a bit harder.
What do you think of the third generation storyline, ie. Tess as an adult? I loved it. The actress they found to play adult Tess was SPOT ON!

What do you think of the third generation storyline, ie. Tess as an adult? I LOVED seeing that. What an impact that selfless act (fostering) made on that remarkable young woman, and that exposure as a child turned into her life's work. Just stellar.

Whose story hit you the hardest this week?
Rebecca's. TW, my brother died last year and I just kept associating her situation with my SIL's, which until last night I have never really done with the show. Honestly, I have a hard time letting out and dealing with emotions, so I started to watch the show after my brother died as a way to make myself cry.
What do you think of the third generation storyline, ie. Tess as an adult? Until you mentioned, I never thought of it as being a storyline they continue with, so now I am excited and hope they do. That reveal probably had me bawling the most.
What was everyone's thoughts on Miguel? I know he wasn't really in the episode last night, but I was discussing this with a friend. She feels he has always had feelings for Rebecca. I don't really, and I felt his response showed how much he loved jack.
ETA: I missed this when I watched, but got chills reading this article. Apparently while Rebecca is at the vending machine there's a faint voice saying "Bec?" and she turns for a split second before ignoring it. It was Jack calling for Becca when he started having a heart attack!!!

Whose story hit you the hardest this week? I would have to say Rebecca. The moment that she said "I have to ruin my kids lives" "I have to be strong for them" is when I broke out bawling. I can't imagine how hard that would be. It's a terrifying thought to me. I think it's nice that she makes his favorite food every year while watching the super bowl. That definately sound like something I would do because we are foodies and put favorite thing is cooking and eating and watching tv.
What do you think of the third generation storyline, ie. Tess as an adult? At first I was mad because I was excited for Randall and Beth to get a cute little foster boy. Then I was like...okay this could be cool. But my husband jumped up and down literally, Jumped up and down and clapped and was saying "the future the future the future!!" Haha. So that cracked me up.

Whose story hit you the hardest this week?
????? Jack dying!!!!!!! Rebecca finding out her husband died. So.many.tears. tears everywhere.
What do you think of the third generation storyline, ie. Tess as an adult?
Loved it! I absolutely loved it, it was exactly what this episode needed to stop the sad tears, they just switched to happy tears. Isn't Randall is sweetest
Whose story hit you the hardest this week? Rebecca’s. It just shows how strong she is and how good of a mother. I can’t even imagine going through that.
What do you think of the third generation storyline, ie. Tess as an adult? I thought that was a nice change! It makes sense because now that they’ve gotten to the end of Jack’s storyline it’ll be nice to jump to something else.

How did learning about Jack’s death make you feel after all the build up?
I cried so hard. I knew it was coming. It was so obvious. But watching her eat that Mars bar and not believe the doctor and then seeing the look on her face when she actually realized he was dead nearly killed me.
Whose story hit you the hardest this week?
When she was talking to Miguel and said that she had to be strong because she had to ruin the rest of her kids lives and if he can't be to take walk around the block and come back when he can be too. I just kept thinking I can't imagine having to do that.
What do you think of the third generation storyline, ie. Tess as an adult?
I thought it was super cool! But not sure how far they will go with this.
ETA: I can't even read that article. I noticed it when I watched it and I can't read anything else about it because I have to stop crying at work.
