@harveyabbey77 thanks for the baby box idea! I did all the videos and it gave me the pick up locations, but they are all 30+ miles away...how did you find the shipping option?
@bearmoons It pulled up all the pick up locations and when I scrolled past those, there was an option to ship to my home for free. I had to go through a checkout process to enter my shipping address. Then it said I should have my box in about 2 weeks!
I'm thinking this could be a good place for this. Apparently babies r us is doing the trade in deal thing starting around Valentine's Day through mid march. got to get my old car seats out!
.... atleast according to the lady that called me yesterday to check on my registry (probably cause it's empty lol). So I asked her.

@icecubeinthedesert did you have to do anything else once you got the notice that you qualified for it? I'm paranoid that I'm going to miss an email to confirm it or something

It had the same Pampers gift pack that I received from Amazon & BRU, a package of Cetaphil samples, the Kiinde starter pack, a bunch of coupons, some Lansinoh and Boobease samples, a cute picture print to frame and the Wiindi from Frida baby. Pretty good package for just having to set up an account and create a registry!
Walmart has a ton of baby items on clearance right now. I was there yesterday and scored a Graco jogger stroller/car seat combo for $99! Retail price was $220. There was also some standalone car seats and other strollers on clearance for a really great price.

Make sure to check Target baby clearance too! We got our car seat on clearance for $56 last week! Someone had ordered online but didn't like the color. It was marked down from $164.99!
Has anyone checked out any of the Babies R Us "going out of business" sales? Just learned the one near us is closing and was wondering if there are any good deals.
@LaceyBee522 was just wondering the same. I would guess it'll be like all other stores that go out of business....some good deals and then big brands not on sale til the bitter end.
@LaceyBee522 I googled it last night because I was interested too. News articles in my area said the sales were minor at this point but will get better as April gets closer. If anyone goes, tell us what the deals are!
@becca_123 Ooh, that's good to know. I'm thinking about stopping by tonight, just to see. Since it is NYC, and everyone here is like a vulture, I'm assuming stuff will go fast. The problem is, I don't even know what I want and don't want to buy stuff just because it is on sale.
@LaceyBee522@becca_123 and @aharv77 I'm also planning on checking out a closing Babies R Us this weekend. We recently had a Kmart close near us and by the time we went to check out the deals it was basically cleaned out (I believe there was about a week left until they closed). The stuff that was left for us to shift through were a couple (and I mean under 5) strollers (mostly umbrella), a few bathtubs, bags of diapers (not the boxes), and some random baby food products. I would suggest checking out the Target clearance for an idea of what a good deal for like products would be. If you are a FTM you may also want to check out the product spotlight posts and Lucie's List. And with most clearances on baby stuff I find that I go a little overboard, since the stuff is small and cost like $5 for a bath toy/stroller toy/ bib set/ ect.... but all of those $5 purchases add up- so just be careful and have an idea of stuff you want to pick up on clearance/sale. I'm looking for deals on stock pile stuff: Diapers Wipes Boogie Wipes Plain baby clothes- onsies that translate into different seasons- since I'm expecting these stores to not have gotten any spring/summer clothes Extra bottle nipples, caps, and lids for storage (I never have enough- not sure where they go) Baby laundry detergent Shoes for DD in the next size up If there is a good sale on furniture/ double stroller I might buy- but I feel like that is a couple weeks away.
@becca_123 They don't keep it in a specific spot at mine. They keep bigger "gear" at the end of the baby gear section, kind of on the side of an aisle. It's not signed or anything, just dropped there it kind of seems like. I've also seen baby clearance in aisle on the shelf and on endcaps. Kind of like a treasure hunt but I love bargain hunting that way!
For those who got the baby box freebie, did it actually include the "baby box" in which babies can sleep the first few months or just samples, coupons, and a few misc baby items? I was told I had to pick up and can't get by mail but pick up is way out of my way. I'm wondering if it's worth following up on. If it included the "bed box" I think it might be...
For anyone looking for winter clothes for baby to wear next year, now is the time to shop! I scored a ton of deals on sleep and plays at Walmart ($2.50 each) and just this weekend at Carter's I got a bunch of little fall and winter outfits on the clearance; I spent about $40 and have enough clothes to get through next winter, including hat and gloves. I figured I will mainly get Summer clothing at my shower so I wanted to take advantage of winter baby clearance now to be prepared for next year!

Sorry, I know I'm being snarky because I can assume you are talking about BRU stores that are closing but this is the only post you have made in your 5 years on TB. We don't even know if you are pregnant. If you are, and you're due in June, read the *READ THIS FIRST* thread pinned at the top and introduce yourself in the Introductions thread.

If anyone is looking for Chicco brand (car seats, bases, strollers, playpens, high chairs, etc.) it's currently on Zulily with up to 30% off. Limited colors/selection, but some good deals. For example, the NextFix Zip (convertible car seat) is listed as $250 instead of $350.

@rnielsen321 - Thank you! I just followed up with the baby box and they now ship to my area for a small fee. Sounds worth it for the box (+ am curious to see if the box holds well in shipping as I'm thinking it could be good to use for travel...)
Also I received the box of free goodies from Walmart. I'd say it's not really worth it. It had one diaper and one pacifier. When you compare to the Amazon box def not worth it...
@juliaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I received my baby box last week via mail. The box comes flat and you assemble it when it arrives so you shouldn't have any issues with it being damaged. My box came with the box, the mattress/pad, a sheet and then a small bag of samples. Some weren't even baby related though. Dove was clearly a sponsor so I got a full pack of Dove baby wipes and a small sample of Dove baby soap but the rest were Dove Men body wash and deodorant samples. There was also a large packet of coupons and some Lansinoh samples.
So our babyBox is sponsored by Telus, in Ontario. They are emphasizing the Health tracking App. We had a few more small samples. But in Canada, that is par for the course. Our Amazon freebie is a 10$ toy, not the awesome box y'all got. I have registered for a few thing in the US as my folks are in FL for the winter, but Amazon Prime US is of no good for me. Even still, I wanted the BabyBox, as we won't get a bassinet.
