EDD Feb 25 - Mar 3 // 36 Wks // Wk of Jan. 28

36 weeks! Officially 1 month from our EDDs this week! Average baby size right now is just under 19" and just under 6 pounds.

How are you feeling?

When is your next appointment? Any concerns or things to mention about it?

Have you had signs that baby could be coming soon? 

Rant/Rave/Questions? 

GTKY: What is something you are excited for after you aren't pregnant anymore? (Aside from obviously being very excited about your brand new baby)

    How are you feeling?
    Pregnant? Heartburn is regular life still, but thankfully the pills came in the mail! And I can poop again. Yay! So those are both good things. I have been more sleepy though.
    When is your next appointment? Any concerns or things to mention about it?
    Thursday. I think I will get the strep group b test or whatever then too. No concerns. She said she can start checking my cervix if I want at 36 weeks. But I think maybe not yet since I haven't even felt any braxton hicks that I know of so I doubt dilation has started.
    Have you had signs that baby could be coming soon? 
    I don't think so. I might have felt some squeezes in my abdomen, but they didn't feel crampy, and I can't really tell if it's a squeeze or just a baby that's getting bigger punching and kicking harder.
    Rant/Rave/Questions? 
    ramble: It's just crazy (but not bad) to me that we only have one month! It seems like about a dozen or so moms in our group have already given birth too. Shit is getting real! My mom had both my brother and I a month early so I feel like I need to really finish getting stuff together because it could be any time. Although, I know when you give birth isn't hereditary so for all I know I could be late. We just ordered like everything that was left on our registry that we still needed just in case the baby is early. It's just crazy thinking it couldn't reasonably be any time now, especially after this week.
    GTKY: What is something you are excited for after you aren't pregnant anymore? (Aside from obviously being very excited about your brand new baby)
    I'm excited to eat freely a varied and flavorful diet without the constant threat of heartburn! Almost everything is bothering me lately except cereal and milk, milk, and . . . well, just bland things like crackers and cheese. Even apples are hanging out in my esophagus too long and come up in chunks and bananas feel too burny from the sugar. It's been a pretty un-nutritious and unadventurous diet the past few weeks unfortunately.

    Pregnant and tired!! Feeling done...but am also not looking forward to giving birth again.

    Feeling pretty good overall and very grateful for it!

    When is your next appointment? Any concerns or things to mention about it?

    Officially at that point where the OB brings me in weekly so I have an appt this week. Nothing exciting for this one, I had my GBS test last week and I got my script to get a breast pump through insurance as well.

    Have you had signs that baby could be coming soon? 

    Nope, it feels like he’s living in my ribs lately so it seems like he’s staying as far away from the exit as possible for now. Fine by me, I need some time to finish getting things in order! 

    Rant/Rave/Questions? 

    Today is my last day of work before maternity leave and I can’t freaking wait to be able to be home and “nest.” Or lay on the couch and watch HGTV.

    GTKY: What is something you are excited for after you aren't pregnant anymore? (Aside from obviously being very excited about your brand new baby)

    The diet restrictions! 

    I cant wait to be able to have a damn glass of wine. Yes, I know I could have one now but it’s not the same and not even worth it. I want to have a glass or two at the end of a long day and be able to enjoy it. Same thing for coffee, I still drink it but having to monitor the amount i take in is past getting old. And lunchmeat! I’ve had turkey here and there but I’m very picky about where it’s coming from. I told DH I want my post-delivery meal to be a big fat Italian hoagie from our favorite local place.

    How are you feeling? very pregnant and sore. I have Braxton Hicks or cramps every night! 

    When is your next appointment? Any concerns or things to mention about it?     Wednesday for my 36 week check, strep b test, cervix check, etc.

    Have you had signs that baby could be coming soon? I thought so but I haven’t progressed from 1 cm in 2 weeks. 

    Rant/Rave/Questions? thank god for my hubby! He’s been such a great help around the house lately when he’s home! I’m so tired and sore, it hurts to walk. 

    GTKY: What is something you are excited for after you aren't pregnant anymore? (Aside from obviously being very excited about your brand new baby) having a drink lol I’ve been wanting a margarita something bad!

    Tired and crabby.  I did, however, finally pack my hospital bag. 

    When is your next appointment? Any concerns or things to mention about it?
    I have an appointment Friday.  They will do a growth scan since baby was measuring several weeks big last scan.  I guess I will play it by ear after that?  I am over being pregnant. 

    Have you had signs that baby could be coming soon? 
    Nothing promising.  Sore hips, more back pain, the occasional BH.  

    Rant/Rave/Questions? 
    I am a mix of "I can't wait to have this baby here" and "Holy crap I am going to be a parent to 2 kids".  Luckily, my husband has been great and pretty supportive about my crazy hormones.  

    GTKY: What is something you are excited for after you aren't pregnant anymore? (Aside from obviously being very excited about your brand new baby)
    I am joining the bandwagon--I can't wait to have a damn drink.  A few of my friends and I already have a winery day planned later in the spring.  Woohoo!

    How are you feeling?  Hip/pelvic pain, nighttime heartburn, can't sleep through the night... but not feeling too terrible. Just kind of bleh.

    When is your next appointment? Any concerns or things to mention about it? I had "uterine artery notching" with my first baby, where my blood flow wasn't totally regular, and I went to the specialist for ultrasounds as often as I had normal appts. This time they just told me to take baby aspirin again since there's no other treatment, since regardless if I have it still it doesn't hurt,  but I haven't gotten any extra ultrasounds. Tomorrow I get another ultrasound just to check the baby's weight, so I'm excited I get to see her. It's hard going from like 15 ultrasounds with my first to 3 with this baby.

    Have you had signs that baby could be coming soon? Nah, I was induced with my 1st at 6 days late, and I don't really expect it to be any different this time around (although actually having an expectation is probably not wise...)  I did go ahead and pack our bags as much as possible though.

    GTKY: What is something you are excited for after you aren't pregnant anymore? (Aside from obviously being very excited about your brand new baby) Last night I saw a martini on a cartoon and I was like "ooh I want a martini".  And sushi. And lunch meat. And being able to pee without feeling like everything is going to fall out! Ha.

    I guess I am the only one who's been drinking wine and eating deli meat sandwiches?  :o Oh well, lol. To each her own! My husband and I shared a bottle of wine on our anniversary in week 18 and have had another bottle together about once a month since. I think it's ok still. I never was buzzed even. Half a bottle is just about 2.25 glasses. That is totally fine monthly-ish I think. And lunch meat I never stopped eating but I don't have it every day, just a lot of days. But, I'm with you guys that a cocktail would be nice to be able to enjoy every once in a while again too!

    I always thought I’d be fine with having a glass of wine while pregnant but now that I’m actually in that position, I just feel guilty. Like I can’t fully enjoy it so what’s the point? I have our “first anniversary” bottle of wine waiting for me the second this kid gets out. I found out I was pregnant exactly a week before we were due to share that bottle!  I did allow myself the champagne at the toasts during the many weddings we had this fall. Gotta indulge a little!
