let me just update you ladies on my clomid nightmare. What I'm experiencing are rare side effects so don't get scared if you are thinking of taking it. I've only taken 3 doses and went with my gut and stopped - it's been a little over 24 hours out of my system. I will never take it again. Today was probably the worst morning. I woke up in pretty much an anxiety attack which I haven't had in 10 years. It's scary - feeling helpless and hopeless and I got sick to my stomach. I have an appt with my family doc today hoping he understands and I get some ativan for the weekend. I wouldn't wish this on any of you ladies. Left message with RE nurse to update her and see what she says. I still want to get my ovaries checked next week to see if they are ok and nothing bad happened but I'm done for now. DH and I talked and we are taking a mental break. I really can't do this right now. Obviously I'm not leaving the board cause I love you all too much and appreciate every one of you. I'm feeling at peace with my decision.
So as far as my weekend goes - I for sure have no set plans since I can't function very well right now between anxiety and lack of sleep for the last 3 nights.
I’m so sorry you’re having such severe side effects @vlagrl29. It sounds like you’re making the right choice to stop it for now and take a little break. Your mental and physical health is the most important thing, even more so than TTC. Hopefully once the clomid is fully out of your system, you’ll be feeling more like yourself again.
AFM, no real weekend plans other than to have my sister in law and her family come over to watch the super bowl at our house. I’ll probably do some baking on Saturday so that we have dessert on Sunday, but otherwise I’m having my first normal weekend in like 3 weeks since either me or DH have traveled the past few ones. I’m so looking forward to just sleeping in a little and relaxing.
@vlagrl29 So sorry you're experiencing the horrible side of TTC. Sounds like you're making a great decision to take a little mental break, it's so very important to try to stay sane through all of this. As for me, we've got friends coming over for games tonight. Hoping to get out on my bike and a bit of cleaning
Thanks! I still want to get my scan next week just to check it all out. Not saying we are stopping ttc cause we will have sex but I'm not thinking about all the details until I have a clear mind.
@vlagrl29 sorry the side effects are so tough on you. Take all the time you need! @Mack2342@40momma enjoy your night with friends!!
AFM I'm really hoping our pond freezes enough to be able to skate tomorrow. Sunday we're having family over for the super bowl and eating all the amazing food. And of course looking forward to This Is Us!
Well I got some Ativan - my doc said to try femara next cycle as its a different chemistry. I hope to be back to normal soon. They don't want to do a scan. They just want me to sit this cycle out.
@mack2342 - yeah they actually told me to either use back up method when having sex this month or go ahead and come in for the U/S just peace of mind for me. I'll talk to DH this weekend about it before I cancel that appt. I certainly hope femara doesn't get me crazy. I hate giving up and IDK I just thought this would be good for me but apparently it was not.
@vlagrl29 Ugh, I'm so sorry clomid was such a beeyatch to you. I have a few friends who have taken both and all conceived on femara and told me it was a COMPLETELY different ball game with next to no side effects, so FK it's better for you, too. That's actually what I have waiting at the pharmacy as well. We tried naturally this cycle and may or may not take it next one after our RE follow up, the jury is still out.
This weekend means more work on our ever-loving house, of course - my Dad is down staying with us in the rental to help DH install doors and knock out a bunch of trim... trying to get everything ready for paint. We neeeeeeed to be back in about six weeks because rent on top of a mortgage on top of all of the expense of it is just getting to be stupid. Beyond stupid, really. I have to get blood drawn as soon as the lab opens tomorrow AM for my homocysteine levels and some other stuff for the RE (I read homocysteine can be falsely elevated by protein so it's better to be fasting... that means I get to get up at 6 on a Saturday, hooray.) Hair cut at 8:30 tomorrow, too, and I'm going back to brunette so I can stop dying my hair because trying to touch up your roots all the time while TTC is really annoying! lol. Sunday night we are going to my coworker/friends house for the Super Bowl!
