  • OB appt tomorrow.
Hoping to pre-book some April appts so I can plan out what I'm doing, especially since one day I'll be seeing my mum - she's coming to my appt that day if I have one, which I likely will.

I think this one my OB will book my glucose test. I may ask about it if she doesn't book, to at least get an idea.
  • @katelynrae86 I was paranoid as well, but our tech said she got a good shot {legs still crossed but view of under the butt} so there was no question in her mind.
From my understanding, most techs will tell you they aren't able to confirm if there's a question. If you're concerned, look into the 3D ultrasound :) We looked at that as an option since U/S 1, little miss decided to be complicated lol We anticipated another issue, so we got info on 3D one just in case.
  • Anyone else get results if you were taking the early glucose test? My doctor called and said mine came back normal. I checked online and it was a 76. I know your pancreas works over time to process the glucose but I find it weird that it was lower than my typical fasting glucose, which is usually in the 80s. I'm sure I'm reading too much into it and the doctor said it was fine but I can't help but wonder if I'm at risk for insulin resistance eventually if my pancreas pumps it out like that. Is my pancreas a champ or going to end up screwing me over in the long run?

Go figure, all I wanted was to pass and now I'm questioning it haha it certainly makes sense though now why I felt so crappy afterwards. That's one heck of a nose dive in an hour.
  • @amys614 Mine was a 125, which is just below the cutoff. My average fasting BG is around 90. Your body does crazy ish when pregnant. Be mindful of it after baby comes, but don't let it totally freak you out.
  • @amys614 my fasting was 78 and at one hour I was at 138. did you fast for the test? not that could mean much cause everyones body seems to react differently whether fasting or not.
like kfren said, the body does crazy things. Maybe just take not if you feel off often etc and tell your doctor if you're concerned.

  • @LaceyBee522 Will they able to differentiate between baby A and baby B at the next US (assuming same sex, which I know you don't know.) In other words, will baby "A" consistently be baby "A" before birth?

Also- I have childhood twin friends who sometimes would get asked "how do you know you're really Katherine?" (AKA did your identities unintentionally get switched as newborns...) My friend would reply shut the f!@# up, you think I don't already have enough identity issues as a twin?!

  • @LaceyBee522 I see. Interesting. It makes sense that they'd need to track. I guess with twins they're probably monitoring growth more closely, too. Then I guess at birth you'll know which is A and B based on weight.
  • I had never thought about how they keep track of twin babies in the womb! But it totally makes sense why. @LaceyBee522 are you the only mama having multiples on our board?

  • @LaceyBee522 did we talk about this already? Have you guys decided how you're going to determine which baby gets which name if they end up B/B or G/G? Personality? Whoever comes out first? Just assign A a name, B a name?
  • @LaceyBee522 I think that's a solid plan. I think that'd be my plan too. I think DH would want to do "first arrival, second arrival" though, and then we'd fight about that... so... I hope your DH agrees with you!
