Good morning folks! Welcome to milestone Monday on a Tuesday because life happens. My LO now sleeps on his belly which I surprisingly love. He sleeps much better and now loves playing on his stomach. He also trying to crawl which I'm so not ready for. He bring his knees in and rocks. He's great a scooting backwards (and under the coffee table) but hasn't figured out forwards yet.
He'll be 6 months in 3ish weeks and I'm so excited to introduce solids
How are you guys doing?
Re: Milestone Monday (yes I know it's Tuesday)
We've been doing some solids, rice cereal and now peas, green beans and sweet potatoes. He wasn't a huge fan of peas, but liked green beans and loves sweet potatoes! I'm sure he's going to LOVE fruits. One milestone we've technically hit but I am getting impatient for it to become more regular is giggling. One day he was giggling up a storm for grandma's fake sneezes, but haven't gotten it out of him again, even for grandma.
He's now rolling over both to his left and right and from his back to tummy and tummy to back. Can sit for not too long independently but I feel like that's getting better by the day. He hates sitting though, whenever I have him sitting in front of me he squirms and squirms because he wants to stand up!
I always put him to sleep on his back, he usually is rolling to his side as I place him down and end up on his belly within minutes.
My LO is a super giggler, sometimes it just takes a look, I love it
I haven't done much sitting because my physical therapist mom is really big into no sitting until they can get there themselves. We've been practicing getting to the sitting position independently and we're getting close.
@CPR79, my LO loves veggies too!
My LO ends up on his stomach at night too. I put him to bed on his back, but he rolls over himself to go to sleep. He is sitting up for about 30 seconds at a time. Laughing is constant too. I put him on a swing the other day and he couldn’t get enough! Laughing uncontrollably! So funny. I have been doing solids for about a month now. LO is just over 6 months. I have been making most of it and am going to start looking for new recipes that include meat/protein.
This age is so fun and it is crazy to see how much development has happened in 6 months!
He still HATES being on his tummy anyways, so we have seen no inclination for crawling yet. He does love standing up and letting us help him walk short distances.
He’s actually starting to respond to his name now!
He’s been eating solids for about a month and a half now. Started with rice cereal but he was having lots of issues with it tummy-wise. So we stopped that and started veggies. He loves sweet potatoes, carrots, and is slightly indifferent about squash. We also introduced fruits and he loves peaches and pears!
Everything we fed him was store bought first. I’m starting to make his food and he seems to enjoy it more when it’s made by me than bought. This was especially true for the butternut squash. Not gonna lie, I tasted the store bought food and it was really tasteless, but when I made it with fresh squash, it was really good and I tasted a major difference and I think he did too lol.
LO will be 6 months on the 3rd
