I'm currently eating cheddar and sour cream ruffles and mac n cheese. I may have had some of those chips for breakfast. yogurt and cheerios for a mid day snack. I want spicy however my body says nope. I want a salad however my body says nope. I want food however my body says here have a saltine and some tums.
Bean and cheese burrito, home made, currently giving me life. going for ramen tonight and I'm so excited! Trying to eat healthy-ish today so I can enjoy a big bowl!
I ate a chicken parm sandwich at the Cheesecake Factory at 1pm today and I'm still uncomfortably stuffed, worth it though! Yum!
FML I just looked up the calories in this and there are 1920 calories in this sandwich!!! I think this doesn't even include the fries I ate. OMG no wonder I'm still so full and seriously how TF do you get that many calories in a sandwich?!?!?!
FINALLY was able to to eat Hot Cheetos and not feel sick. As much as I wanted to devour them, I savored them. Also, I got to have a spicy chicken sandwich from Chic-flia. YES!!! Come back to me spicy food!!!!
DH made mabo tofu for dinner tonight, and he said it's not going to be spicy enough for me so he got out the la-yu chili oil and dumped a bunch in. He also pulled out some of the hot peppers from our garden that I have in the freezer just in case. That man knows me so well.
I have to go to my workout first, and dinner will be allllll I think about through all the squats tonight!
Is anyone else having trouble eating in the morning? I started out doing reeeeaaallly well, but for the past 4 weeks or so, I can’t seem to force myself to eat breakfast. Unless it’s a weekend around 11 and a breakfast taco from our amazing local tortilla factory. Which is totally unhealthy (despite just getting beans bacon and cheese. lol).
I need to start doing better, I know. I will eat lunch and dinner, but don’t typically eat snacks either. I’m supposed to be following a diabetic diet, but this obviously isn’t happening yet!
@angleyeskkhr I’ve only been eating when I get hungry, sometimes that’s not until lunch time and sometimes I’m starving by 8 am! I’m focusing on trying to make healthier choices too, but those tacos sound so goooood!
I've been starving when I wake up lately but no time to eat before I leave for work, so I usually toast a bagel for the car ride. Normally I would wait and eat at work but lately I've been too hungry to do that (hour long commute). I am really trying to cut back on carbs though, especially just eating them by themselves and not mixing with protein. I have my early glucose test next week so I at least have to try to be good until then lol. Any ideas of quick, easy, and portable breakfast for the car that is not carb heavy and has some protein?
I type this as I wait for my breakfast to be delivered because we were out of bagels this morning. 2 eggs, home fries, toast, a side of fruit, and a toasted sesame bagel with butter. Stupid delivery minimums!
I'm taking the train to Santa Barbara for a meeting. Made a smoothie and had it first thing around 730 and picked up a breakfast sandwich at Starbucks on the way to the station. Was planning to eat it around 10 on the train. It's 9:35 and I ate it 45 min ago...
I'm so sick of eating out and I can't wait to be home tomorrow around noon. Staying with a college friend tonight after my meeting and going out to eat, again. Between my friend being in town last weekend and this I'm seriously craving my home cooked meal. Look forward to a mega grocery run on Thursday!

I shouldn’t have read this. I’m so hungry now! I’ve been trying to eat healthier since the ms has waned, but all I want is junk food! @rachelsogo tacos sound amazing!
@kissableviv I’ve been traveling for work since a Sunday (red eye from cali to NY tonight!) and feel the same way you do! Never ever thought I’d miss cooking!
Last night I made the Thai steak panang curry and tonight I made chicken tom ka gai soup. They had similar taste profiles and both were Thai style dishes which I didn't think about when picking the 3 meals. Tomorrow is the last meals, pan seared steak with chimichurri and citrus-walnut salad.
So far both dishes were very flavorful and a hit with both me and hubby (I hate bland food). I like how almost everything is organic and centered around mostly proteins and veggies, no processed junk or simple carb over load. Hubby and I were both full and satisfied but not stuffed after both dinners.
What I didn't love was the produce. We typically eat tons of fresh veggies and I am picky about the freshness and quality. Sun Basket's veggies were totally fine but not the nicest and freshest you can get. Also, I feel like so far both means could have included way more fresh veggies. Last, there was a lot of prep work, juicing and zesting lime, washing and chopping veggies, herbs and meats. It took a while to get cooking. I usually buy greens and veggies pre-washed and pre-chopped and often have the butcher chop up meat for me at the grocery store which are huge time savers.
So.... there is my random review of Sun Basket. I will say that it got me out of my dinner rut and in to home cooking and eating cleaner again so I'm pleased.

Right?? I'm seriously giddy at the idea of going grocery shopping tomorrow but that's because I love the grocery store lol.
I went to a 6:30 workout class this morning, so I had a PB&J before I left the house (around 5:15), and then when I finished I ate a bagel (everything with veggie cream cheese, yaaaasss.) And I'm still hungry. At least I burned over 500 calories in my class? #balance
I don’t know how you all exercise! I’m starving all the time, I can’t imagine how much I would have to eat if I burned a bunch of calories exercising! I am trying to eat healthier foods though, since most of this pregnancy I’ve just wanted pizza.
@powellgirl honestly it’s a problem!! Especially working out in the morning. It’s gets your metabolism going early and then all day ALL I WANT IS ALL THE FOOD.
@zande2016 what about a tortilla wrapped around peanut butter and banana or peanut butter and granola? Or a large apple or banana plain? Could also get bagel thins and then spread with PB, or make a protein shake.
All of these suggestions come to you from the person who had migas for breakfast. LOL
Hangry pregnant women should not be allowed in donut shop drive thrus. I spent $20 on two breakfast sandwiches, two carrot cream cheese muffins and a giant apple fritter. In my defense I shared with DH and DS and saved the muffins for later lol.
Re: What My Pregnant Self is Eating 1/18
@kissableviv Ramen sounds really amazing right now, mmm salty noodles!!
I am enticed ny all foods with zero nutritional value.
I just had a smoothie packed with two servings of spinach and a banana and berries just to try to offset my daily bagel obsession.
I have to go to my workout first, and dinner will be allllll I think about through all the squats tonight!
