  • How many weeks are you/baby's size?
    29 weeks, acorn squash
    How do you feel?
    large, uncomfortable, so tired
    Any appts this week?
    Nope
    Rants/raves/questions?
This has nothing to do with pregnancy, but we had our garage door opener replaced, so now I can use my Homelink button in my car (our old opener was too old) and it's so awesome! I didn't like putting my remote on the visor because of indentions, so I kept it in the middle console and had to get it out every time I opened and closed the garage.
GTKY: what food and/or drink do you want to have first after birth?
I'm with @codingchildhood I don't really eat or drink anything normally that I can't when I'm pregnant...and I've been giving into all my cravings lately, so I haven't really been missing anything :)
  • How many weeks are you/baby's size?

    29; acorn squash

    How do you feel?

i feel good! I had a normal week last week finally back to my schedule and getting sleep and exercise. That seemed to alleviate my back aches. Hoping for another good week.

    Any appts this week?

    no

    Rants/raves/questions?

is it normal to have another ultrasound after the A/S? I am not sure I’m scheduled to have one but I’m wondering how it works with figuring out baby’s size and position etc. I think my insurance covers as many as I need or want, so I guess I could ask for one?

GTKY: what food and/or drink do you want to have first after birth?

i have thought about this probably more than I should in part bc every time I’m out with DH lately I’m like “we need to come back here post delivery so I can have xyz” so ideally I’d say a margarita, tacos with the unpasteurized cheese, a glass of sparkling rose, and sushi.

Also yas to the ‘buch @bchalm ! I told myself I would have some after the first tri but I haven’t....  I really think it would be fine bc the alcohol content is sooooooo low but I like to have it every day or every other day and I feel like that would maybe be too much..... at any rate yes definitely kombucha stacked on deck for after delivery. Preferably health-ade brand  bc I need to splurge
  • @nessa1632 I'm pretty sure most people don't have an ultrasound after the A/S unless there was an issue with that ultrasound which would cause your doctor to feel the need for extra monitoring. I have ultrasounds every 4 weeks because I'm considered high risk and my doctor wanted to monitor growth, but I have friends who never had another after 20 weeks.
  • @beach_mama you prepare sugar free instant pudding with heavy whipping cream in place of the milk. It's pretty yummy!
  • How many weeks are you/baby's size?
    28 weeks - eggplant

    How do you feel?
insomnia at night has begun. I can usually get to sleep but once I wake up it takes me forever to fall back asleep. I’m also finding it uncomfortable to sit on my couch. I don’t know if it’s too deep or what but this happened with my first. I’m not happy about it haha.
    I’ve also been moodier.

    Any appts this week?
I have an ultrasound tomorrow to check a minor placenta previa issue. Then I have a chiropractic massage after and I can’t waaaait.

    Rants/raves/questions?
I’ve been on pelvic rest since week 20 bc of the placenta issue so I’m hoping the ultrasound goes well. Not that I’m wanting to jump my husband at this stage! It’s more the fact I have a restriction to anything that is nerve wracking to me. Also, I have to go for my glucose test this week. I failed the one hour with my first pregnancy and had to sit for the three hour. I’m hoping that’s not the case this time. The whole flu outbreak is freaking me out and the last place I want to be is sitting at a lab surrounded by potentially sick people.

GTKY: what food and/or drink do you want to have first after birth?
Beer. All the beer. And a big fat hoagie/sub.

How many weeks are you/baby's size? 29+2 - acorn squash or barbie convertible! I don't know how accurate that is haha. Barbie convertibles are pretty large!

How do you feel? I'm starting to feel uncomfortable. Baby has been transverse, and his foot is like sliding up and down my side sometimes. It's a really weird feeling and I don't feel like he should be over that far! I have also been really emotional... I cried 3 times on Saturday when I was alone with DS just over dumb stuff. He's so sweet, he asked me "are you ok mommy" (which made me cry more) and then gave me a hug.

Any appts this week? I had my appointment last week, so my next one is Feb. 1st!

Rants/raves/questions? Rant- everytime I go to the OB it seems like I have a different doctor, which is fine. But everytime I see a doctor they review my chart with me and talk about how large DS was and if I had trouble delivering and tell me this baby is measuring big. It doesn't sound so annoying when I type it out, but I'm a little anxious about delivering another large baby (DS wasn't THAT large at 8lb14oz) so I make myself grouchy.

GTKY: what food and/or drink do you want to have first after birth? Coke soda!! Our hospital offers a fancy meal after the baby is born so I'll probably have steak and potatoes again. I was so hungry afterwards! This time I am packing a load of snacks. With DS I was so hungry I asked the nurse if she had any food and they keep a special snack basket for overnight just in case!

@MrsF1017 Coke is on my list to pack in my bag! My hospital is pepsi only and last time they didn't offer soda as a meal option.

@sunshine27shy Awww that's great! Did they surprise you with the stove and sink?

@mattel they are giving you an echo and EKG? I hope all is going well!

@codingchildhood Are you working up until you deliver? I did last time but like you I feel so much worse when I am at work versus when I'm not. You wouldn't think sitting at a desk would be hard work but it is!

@jkatkins Have fun in Vegas!! That's so sweet that he surprised you!

@nessa1632 I had another u/s after my a/s with DS because he had a section of uncoiled umbilical cord, and they thought he was going to be small (lol he was macrosomic). They don't do additional u/s at my practice after the a/s unless there's some indication something could be wrong.

@codingchildhood That was me last week!! There were too many sick people sitting in the lab while I was waiting for my draw. It was only an hour but it still made me anxious with all the flu going around. I understand the restriction thing too - I'm on pelvic rest and lifting restriction and just having them makes me think more about everything I'm doing and worry a little more than I already would be. Fingers crossed for a good u/s for you!
  • How many weeks are you/baby's size?
    29 weeks, acorn squash

    How do you feel?\
pretty good overall, my rib pain is less frequent and i'm so thankful for that!

    Any appts this week?
30 week check on friday!  (still need to go to CVS for my TDAP too)

    Rants/raves/questions?
per usual my rave is nursery progress, we have walls!!!! SO sheetrocked (is that a word?) this weekend and will be spending next weekend working on the trim and priming the walls for paint.

GTKY: what food and/or drink do you want to have first after birth?
nothing in particular.  I'm not the best pregnant lady in that I don't live and die by the food/drink rules so I pretty much eat/drink in moderation what I usually would.

@nessa1632 last pregnancy my A/S was the last ultrasound I had scheduled until the added a growth one for being "past my due date" (1 day and I was technically already in labor when I got it and birthed later that night).  My practice this time around does a scan routinely at 36 weeks.

  • @fancybelmont I usually watch sites like wayfair, houzz and joss and main for furniture, fixtures etc..  They always have deals going.

  • @ekendall09 what color are you guys doing in the nursery?
  • @peppersmith22 we haven't decided.  Probably a light gray on 3 of the walls and then we're trying to narrow in on a few blues (navy, light, medium and maybe a seaform) to do a wave wall.  We're going with ocean/surf.  We also have to pick a darker gray to repaint a dresser with.

  • @ekendall09 That sounds really pretty and relaxing! we did an ocean theme for DS but the room was already teal so we didn't choose a new color. I love seeing what everyone does with their nurseries! I spent most of my maternity leave with DS watching HGTV so I have too many ideas
  • @peppersmith22 that sounds super annoying!

@nessa1632 I don't think US after A/S is typical. My OB does one every visit but I know that isn't the norm.
  • @peppersmith22 Yeah I have to have both. I’m diabetic (not gestational) so I’m high risk and they want me to have that done before my C/S. It’s a little annoying tbh. I’ve had EKGs and a stress echo before because I’m diabetic and have heart disease in my family. I know it’s a precaution although I didn’t need to have it done with DD.

    Me (33). DH (37). DD (2.2012). MCs x4. After 4 years & 7 months, due 4.2018!

  • @mattel boo for tests but it's good they are being cautious and conservative.
  • Thanks all! @ekendall09 and @peppersmith22 I am also excited by seeing others’ nurseries! Although I haven’t posted any of my own bc it’s soooo behind but I did move a rug from our bedroom to the nursery so that counts right?!
  • @fancybelmont I usually watch sites like wayfair, houzz and joss and main for furniture, fixtures etc..  They always have deals going.
I haven't heard of houzz.  I'll check it out.  I'm a big fan of wayfair, but I don't really like their kids stuff.  :(
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • peppersmith22 ugh, yes, I'm working up till delivery, or as long as I can anyway. I did not realize how much it would suck. I stopped working pretty early on with my last pregnancy and I really wish I could do that again!
  • @peppersmith22 not a surprise but happy that it is done and I didn't have to help in any way.

and that us way annoying about every Dr bringing it up. I don't thing your baby was huge at that weight. I think ibwould be annoyed to meet with a different Dr every time as well I mean it would be nice to meet the different Drs of they have a chance of delivering but I like to consistently meet with my ob
  • @codingchildhood I distinctly remember saying to myself I wasn't going to work up to the end again after DS but here I am, planning on working up to the end! At least we can commiserate?

@sunshine27shy I've had 5 different doctors/midwives so far but I scheduled out with the same midwife now so hopefully it will be better! The hospital is so big so it's a lottery on who will actually deliver the baby. I deliver at this hospital because I work there and its cheapest to deliver there
