Intro and a few questions

Hi All. I am new here. It took us one year to conceive DS and we never did any sort of fertility treatment. Our insurance covers 85% of infertility costs. Does anyone know how much a SA costs? My OB said if the SA comes back with not so good results, our next step is artificial insemination. How much does that cost? Thank you!

We never did a full SA so not sure there but as far as IUI (intrauterine insemination). Prices vary due to the number of ultrasounds your doctor will do and then the number of inseminations per cycle (some drs will do 2). I think each u/s was a couple hundred $ and then the IUI about $300 if I remember correctly. The first cycle you will likely do more u/s just to get a baseline and then to figure out your cycle, but then after that, you might just have one, or some drs just have you do OPKs and then inseminate after a pos. So basically, you need to talk to your dr about costs because it all varies but since your insurance will cover 85%, then it shouldn't cost you too much. Good luck.
