Re: Second Week of Sept EDD | Check-in w/o 1/18

  • If you're due between Sept 8th and 14th, this is the check-in for you!

How far along are you? How big is baby? 6+1. Sweet pea or Maine blueberry!

How are things going? How are you feeling? I feel great in the morning and early afternoon, then the nausea kicks in and I feel sick and exhausted in the evening.

Upcoming appointments? January 24th. Less than a week!

What skill would you like to master? Math. It's never been my strong suit.

When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with? Career planning, because it's what I do for a living  :) I work in a helping profession and think I have an open and helping nature in general, so I feel like I get all kinds of questions and requests for advice outside of work as well. I just like to help people :)

How far along are you? How big is baby?
    6+4 ...or a ladybug!  :D

How are things going? How are you feeling?
Mostly okay.  Been fighting the anxiety a bit as our appt approaches Friday, which is not helped by not having too many symptoms to speak of.  Mostly getting winded on the stairs with the laundry, and bloat, plus indigestion/ burping all day, err day.  Possibly also irritability.  Ask DH! Lol

    Upcoming appointments?
Friday (tomorrow) - second scan to hear the HB

What skill would you like to master?
My piano skills need some work...  hoping to finally get a real piano (not a keybord) in the house before LO gets here.

<span>When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with?
Household and construction repair type questions galore since I'm a Contractor's wife! Lol

    6+1

How are things going? How are you feeling?
Morning sickness comes and goes, afternoons are the worst

    Upcoming appointments?
    2-2

What skill would you like to master?
Sewing zippers... I can sort of stumble through it but I wish I was more efficient

When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with?
Probably weighing options and making decisions... I'm pretty decisive and I love to help people figure stuff out.

*Edited to add my responses to all the questions
  • @BusinessWife I recently have wanted to pick up more piano skills! I used to play all through high school. I think once my parents still their house I can have their piano, I'm currently stuck with a terrible keyboard.
  • How far along are you? How big is baby? 6+1 - size of a rainbow sprinkle

How are things going? How are you feeling? I'm so exhausted all the time. It's really a struggle to get through each day and I wake up tired.

    Upcoming appointments? 2/1

What skill would you like to master? I just bought a loom and would like to be a proficient hand weaver. Random, I know.

When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with? Party planning or meal planning. I'm a planner.

  • How far along are you? How big is baby?
    6+2. A sweet pea.

How are things going? How are you feeling?
Pretty good, though I'm not sure if it's just from the distraction of an almost 14 month old! If I forget to munch on something for too long, the nausea sets in. Also, if I move around too much. But in general, I'm feeling great about pregnancy... but unmotivated at work and down on myself because I haven't worked out regularly since fall. Through my entire last pregnancy, I was lifting and working out 3-4 times a week.

    Upcoming appointments?
    February 5 – can't wait!

What skill would you like to master?
Knife skills in the kitchen. Or kitchen skills in general. Any time I try to do something, DH takes over.

When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with?
This is such a great question and I'm struggling to come up with an answer. I don't think I have a "usual"... a mix of baby and marketing advice, and lending an ear and dropping truths. :D
  • That's such a cool job, @southernlady07! I have been thinking about seeing a career coach. Any tips for finding a good fit?
  • @AdmiralKitty hello fellow planner  :) I've actually been going overkill on planning a baby shower for my bff in April. I just haven't planned anything in awhile and forgot how much I love it!!!!! Any parties in your future?
  • @EErin86 nothing in the future. I threw a completely over the top first birthday party for my son in Nov and decided that I needed to chill for a bit haha. My H and I aren't super social so I don't do too much regularly, but I love helping others! I used to work for a wedding planner who did insane million dollar weddings, so I've seen how quickly things can get out of control!

  • @hoosiermama-2 It is a great job! I work in a university setting and we also serve alumni, so you may want to reach out to your alma mater (if that is an option). Outside of that, I’d recommend looking to see if there is an International Coach Federation chapter in your area, because that’s a reputable organization and a great way to connect with a coach. Feel free to PM me if you have specific questions  :)

  • @BusinessWife @EErin86 I'm just dying to have a piano in the house. We're very limited on space, though, so I'm probably going to have to settle for a keyboard. I'd like to get one soon, because I think DS is old enough to start learning, and I'd really love to teach him. But I need some practice as it's been years since I've played on a regular basis.

@episcowitch Irish Gaelic, how fun! Why that language in particular?

How far along are you? How big is baby?
    6 weeks. Sweet pea.

How are things going? How are you feeling?
Feeling pretty good overall. Still doesn't feel quite real yet since I haven't been to my first appointment.

    Upcoming appointments?
    Jan. 29

What skill would you like to master?
Spanish (so I can speak with spanish-speaking patients at my job). I've been teaching myself for the last few months, but it's going to be a while before I would feel comfortable using it at work.

When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with?
Usually something crafty or some kind of graphic design.

  • @katethemom because it's the most fun to shout at catcallers. Also, my mom's Fam was Welsh & Irish
“My darling girl, when are you going to realize that being normal is not necessarily a virtue? It rather denotes a lack of courage." - Aunt Frances”
  • @katethemom nice keyboards do exist (I wish I had one and would consider it if I wasn't getting my parents piano in the future) look for a full size with weighted keys  B)

    @episcowitch well that's a fun reason!
  • @episcowitch Haha, touche. I studied abroad in Wales and visited Northern Ireland while I was there. Beautiful places and wonderful people.

@EErin86 Yes, definitely have to have the weighted keys!
  • How far along are you? How big is baby?
    6+4. A sweet pea.

How are things going? How are you feeling?
On edge a bit. Heart rate was 93 at 5 weeks 6 days. Doc said it was low... I also have a SCH again with this pregnancy so I’m on modified rest.
Sore boobs, tired, and I’m irritable! Ask anyone close to me... hahaha.

    Upcoming appointments?
February 9th. Maybe an ultrasound in Florida on holidays as my doctor is suggesting we check the heart rate again. I’m from Ontario, so needing to find somewhere in vacation that will do it!

What skill would you like to master?
Organization. Man. I need it in my life, especially if #3 is coming.
  • Well be rooting so hard for your little sprout! @musicalmommy3.  I'm a FTM. What exactly does "modified rest" mean?
  • @katethemom we have a really nice keyboard. It's a solid wood frame with weighted keys. I would love to replace it with an upright at some point, but it's great for the time being!

@musicalmommy3 where in Florida is vacation? Fun!
  • @musicalmommy3 I hope everything is going well for you. Could you do the next ultrasound before/after your trip?
  • @BusinessWife Modified rest isn’t quite bed rest... I can’t lift anything over 3 pounds, no exercise.  Thanks for rooting for my lil one!

@EErin86 I’m in Florida for 3 weeks...   Probably will have to find a place down here!
  • How far along are you? How big is baby?
7 weeks today, size of a blueberry.
How are things going? How are you feeling?
Get pretty nauseous at different times of the day, an annoying runny nose, and very gassy but other than that I'm fine and dandy
    Upcoming appointments?
Just had one last week, going in again next week to meet the midwife
What skill would you like to master?
Being a mom...this is my first so it will be a large learning curve
When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with?
Whatever ails them, since im a nurse
  • Hi everyone!

I am 6 weeks and 5 days today. Due 9/14.

I suddenly started throwing up yesterday. Not really nauseous, but more like a stomach ache that ends with throwing up. But, so far so good today. I’ve been eating gummy bears throughout the day. I also ordered some preggie pops.

I have my first prenatal and ultrasound next week and I’m so excited!

I would like to learn Spanish. It’s my husband’s first language and he is going to speak it to the baby.

People usually want my help organizing people and events. I’m a logistics person. Wedding planning (we just got married in July 2017) was really fun. Planning for a baby is way scarier and I feel very outside my comfort zone! But I am truely happy and almost can’t believe this is happening.
  • I'm from ontario too and also dealing with a low heartbeat.
