We haven't had a PGAL check in for a few weeks now. I figured we could probably make this monthly since we haven't had a post in a while anyway.
1) How far along are you?
2) How are you feeling physically?
3) How are you feeling mentally?
4) Are you doing anything to help you connect with this pregnancy? Doing anything to make it feel real?

Re: PGAL check in January
2) How are you feeling physically? Pretty good at the moment. I get super bloated towards the end of the day and am usually very uncomfortable.
3) How are you feeling mentally? Good. We just had the a/s Monday so I feel v good after that. I was v anxious beforehand but I'm thankful that everything looked great!
4) Are you doing anything to help you connect with this pregnancy? Doing anything to make it feel real? Not really. Too busy with our 1 year old! ha! No, I think once I start feeling more movement (thank you anterior placenta) it will get more real.

2) Physically I am feeling horrible. My DD had a cold and stomach bug last week- I caught the cold (and hopefully will not show any symptoms of the stomach bug). She has been waking up in the night a lot and super clingy- so I'm not sleeping well and my cold is starting to wear on me. My skin is also SUPER DRY and itchy- is it spring yet? I'm hoping that DD continues to recover so I can give myself a much needed day of pampering soon- a nap, a body scrub and moisturizing treatment, maybe a pedicure and manicure too. Oh that would be so nice.
3) Anxiety is pretty good after my a/s scan yesterday. I was worried for a little while when I was taking care of DD that I wasn't taking care of my current pregnancy enough. Being a mom of 2 is going to be hard when one is sick.
4) I have been hunting for nursery ideas on Pintrest like a crazy person (there isn't much else that I can do with a sick sleeping child nestling into my chest). We are thinking Star Wars theme and looking to paint the walls a light blue/grey with the ceiling dropping down about a foot onto the top of the wall with a super dark blue. We would add stars and star wars aircraft decals to the dark blue area. I'm excited for the weather to warm up so we can start painting (I want the windows to be open while paint fumes are in the room). We also started our registry with BRU and updated with Amazon for the products we have that are super girly and re-stock up on old favorites.

1. 16+4
2. Physically, I am doing ok. Still have to take my nausea meds at night and dealing with some random headaches.
3 Emotionally, I’m a little worse off. We started progesterone shots this week to help prevent preterm labor. I’m happy about that and about extra ultrasounds to check cervical length but it makes nervous all the same that it won’t make a difference. I’m 8 weeks away from the point where I lost my daughter and I’m struggling more and more with the thought that I could lose this baby too.
I’m terrified to find out the sex. Scared it will be a girl and scared it won’t be a girl, if that makes sense.
4. DH and I are making a lot of effort to connect to this pregnancy. We have come up with names and bought a crib and some cloth diapers.

@profmcgonagall I'm sorry you're feeling so anxious, but I am glad that you and your H are making efforts to connect and be excited about this baby! Buying a crib is a huge step! I'm sure that was very hard for you! Like JSL said, vent here all you want, we are here for you! (((hugs))) to you as you approach the milestone!

2) so yesterday I was dx with a partial placenta previa and put on pelvic rest and restricted activity only light walking and such. I looked up risk factors which include prior c-section, D and C, and miscarriage. Yep. I’m trying not to worry too much but now I feel like I’m back to checking for spotting. I really hope this resolves itself.
3) DH says I’m a worrier but it seems like there is always something wrong that I do need to worry about. I finally get my staples out today from my melanoma surgery today (took longer to heal) and I’m trying to focus on the positives and having another beautiful baby girl.
4) trying to think of a name and cleaning out the office to make a bedroom!
@profmcgonagall hugs. The shots sound like a great step to be taking.
@jsl82 love that nursery theme idea!! We are probably keeping DDs room as a nursery for new baby and making my office into a “big girl room”
@PatientlyWaiting10 I hear you on the anterior placenta. Just started feeling movement this week.
1) How far along are you? 21 wks today
2) How are you feeling physically? Good besides the hip pains. And some evenings I'm just really uncomfortable in my abdominal region
3) How are you feeling mentally? Well anterior placenta was screwing with my PGAL mind again. But we got the heartbeat on the doppler this wk at my apt so all is ok.
4) Are you doing anything to help you connect with this pregnancy? Doing anything to make it feel real?
I hold and rub my belly more. I know he can't feel it. But it makes me feel like I'm connecting with him somehow.

2) How are you feeling physically? Mostly good. Still have to take my nausea meds. And recently developed sciatica is the last couple days
3) How are you feeling mentally? Mentally I’m still feeling scared.. I think once you’ve experienced one loss, it just messes with you...
4) Are you doing anything to help you connect with this pregnancy? Doing anything to make it feel real?
i think, once we know sex, I will feel better.right now, I’m still a little disconnected
@profmcgonagall I’m glad they are taking preventative measures!
@jsl82 hope it stays away! My older 2 were sick for what seemed like months
im a little jealous I’m a huge Star Wars fan so I can’t wait to see pictures ❤️
@katie121209 I’m not sure they get it.. ever u/s I’m like all good? And my husband tells me to stop.. but it’s hard.
edited cause I hit send to soon
As terrible as it sounds, both DH and I are relieved we are having a boy this time. We would have been happy either way but I think this will be a lot easier to deal with emotionally.

@jsl82 hope your girl feels better soon!
1) How far along are you? 20 + 3
2) How are you feeling physically? A constant state of exhausted -- perhaps just my new normal??
3) How are you feeling mentally? I really thought that after the A/s I would feel more "pregnant"... but I just don't. Really hoping the exhaustion and disconnected feeling are just winter blue with a touch of pgal brain.
4) Are you doing anything to help you connect with this pregnancy? Doing anything to make it feel real? We put the crib up & started buying BOY clothes. He's got a name. We made it Facebook official...
Edit:spelling is hard.
I feel like I have PTSD at every OB appointment because it was at an appointment that I found out there was no heartbeat and the baby was not growing during my first pregnancy (granted this was an early 8 week appointment which is not uncommon but I was completely taken by surprise because I had no bleeding or cramps or anything). This is only my second pregnancy after 2 years of trying since then so I’m always just anxiously waiting to see or hear the heartbeat. At my 16 week appointment my doctor was really reassuring and said that my previous experience was fairly common but it would be uncommon to have one in second trimester (granted not impossible). She said I could look into getting a Doppler. I thought before that might stress me out more but I think it will actually make me feel a little better at least going into my appointments. Passing on reassurance to everyone in their second trimester.

@glitterfingers now that I’m feeling kicks several times a day I don’t use the Doppler much, but until then the Doppler relieved so much anxiety.
Btw sometimes this baby kicks unpleasant areas! I was awakened at 1am with a really unpleasant one. She must have a sense of humor!
