@meladams10 I had cramps last month about the time of O for 2 days, they stopped, and then had them again about 2 days later for another couple of days. They were not as bad as AF cramps, more just annoying than anything. It was my first month off bcp so I figured it was just my body regulating again. AF showed up about a week after the second set of cramps.

@spartan4life Thank you! I have been off bcp for about 8 months so, maybe this is just my normal? :( I hope yours don't continue, they are quite annoying!

Hey ladies, trying to figure out which day to call cd 1. So I have a known fibroid and get brown spotting frequently during my cycle. On CD 36 the spotting began, and continued until CD 44. The following day it became heavier and I needed a panty liner. On CD 46 I needed a pad....but here's where I'm confused. The spotting and heavier flow was dark dark brown, almost black. It didnt turn red till CD 48. I know the logic behind which day is usually called day one, but does the colour matter as much? Or should I just focus on the amount like normal?

@josie12367 do you use FF? I basically put the amount and let FF decide for me but i understand what you're saying.  I'm leaning towards the color,  because of the red=fresh blood.  I'm curious to see what others say.
  • Options
@galactickates I do use FF...but the colour thing is throwing me. I have it right now for CD 1 for the day I needed a pad, but that day was still really dark in colour. It's been an odd cycle. Guess it really doesn't matter in the end...lol. I'm just happy AF is finally here! But curiosity wanted me to ask

@josie12367 - I would probably do the same thing.  I would be going back and forth about it but settle in on the amount just because that's how FF does it.  I'm exactly 0 help with your question lol
  • Options
@josie12367 I would normally say to go with the first day you needed a pad, but if brown spotting/flow is regular for you, maybe the first day of red flow would be a better fit. Did you O? How was your timing with your travel? Also, you have been in England too long--you spelled color incorrectly!  :D

@offtoneverland Well the brown spotting is only with my an-o cycles....I don't get that with a normal cycle with ovulation. I've just never had brown spotting in this amount where I needed a pad. It seemed odd to have that much.

I don't think I O'd.  And we didn't have sex at all after I knew I had to go back to the states. I left England on the 6th. I'll post my chart...but it's ugly.

@josie12367 Sorry about another an-O cycle. That's the pits. I realize now my questions were stupid because obviously you started your period so the timing was a moot point. Sorry, i had just been thinking about you and wondering what happened with your cycle! Hopefully someone else will chime in with a better answer to your question.

Hi all! Long term lurker recent poster.

So- usually O around CD 15, confirmed by OPK, BBT, and CM.
Last month my O was CD 13 which was strange because I've never Od that early. I started progesterone suppositories last month, and I did an HSG this month with good results.

BUT this month I am so confused. Woke up this morning CD 10 to a temp spike so I did an OPK this afternoon which was positive. And now feeling ovulation pain too. CM is creamy.

I'm concerned because my husband is out of town and won't be back until Thursday night, CD 12- which normally wouldn't be concerning because the earliest I've ever Od was CD 13 and that was an outlier. I know I need 3 days of elevated temps to confirm. But all the signs are there even though they are not in the right order.

Can anyone chart  stalk please? Thank you!

@yls2011 I'm not sure but could the progesterone have anything to do with it?  :/ I guess temping would be the best way to confirm.

I had a question regarding BBT. I started temping this month and noticed all my temps are in the range of 96.4-96.8F. I googled it and read different things about low BBT affecting the TTC process. Anyone have similar readings?
  • Options
@yls2011 the progesterone could have something to do with it, but I’m not an expert. If the OPK was truly positive then I personally would trust that, unless this temp spike was a one off. Then it gets more complicated. However, I’d still DTD as soon as you see your hubby and hope for the best :)

@nasah15 What have you read about low BBT affecting TTC? If it’s just the fact that if t stays low throughout your cycle it might mean an an-o, then yes that’s true. My temps are always in that range you mentioned and even lower before I O. In my LP is when I first dip into 97.xx. But I also don’t have a thyroid so my BBT is lower than most people’s. Have you had your thyroid checked?

@nasah15 Could just be your thermometer. I have 2 thermometers that are consistently an entire degree apart. I think the key is to just stay with one thermometer and look at the overall trends.

Another question about digital OPKs- I'm using the CB advanced digital and the directions say to start testing on CD8.   I took one today at CD8 and got nothing (as I expected).  Has anyone actually gotten a fertile day that early?  I feel like the manufacturer just wants people to take more tests so they have to buy more.

@coco2787 are you using the digital which detects both Estrogen rise and LH surge?
I have a version of the CBAD and this notes changes at two estrogen levels (so I get a first hint normally CD7-8) followed by a second higher level one normally CD11-13 and then it picks up my LH surge somewhere around CD14-16. So in that case if I want pre-warning it absolutely makes sense to start CD 7/8. But I know some others do that a few months and only see the first rise CD12 and still get LH surge on CD14. It really depends on your body.

Some also use cheapies the earlier days and only use the more expensive tests when they are getting closer.

I think they suggest CD8 for beginners to catch “most” people until they know their cycles and if they are regular or not.

As a note I have compared what my CBAD tells me to what my RE sees on TVUS and in BW monitoring during my FP and it matches really really well each time.
Increase in CM also perfectly follows both too, so long as I am well hydrated.

Hope that helps somewhat - but in the end we are all individual and bodies are weird!

@leafyarch Thanks for replying. I did have my thyroid checked less than a year ago and it was normal.
@izza2 I don't have any of the issues you mentioned. I'm relieved to hear I'm not the only one with this kind of temp. I'm temping for the first time this cycle, I guess seeing a temperature shift would be reassuring.
@yls2011 you're probably right. Will see what the trend is with this thermometer.
  • Options
@nasah15 Your temps can also be lower if you temp orally - mine were always in that range, sometimes down to high 95s (and for the record, my naturopath wasn’t concerned). You could try temping vaginally next cycle and see how that goes.

Just remember, everyone is different. A ‘normal’ cycle is 28 days, with ovulation exactly on day 14, but not many of us have that. Temps are the same, some people are a bit higher than the ‘normal’ temp and some people are lower
  • Options
@nasah15 you might want to take a listen to the “fertility Friday” podcast on thyroid issues. They talk a lot about low temps. Not sure if all points expressed are fully proven, but some are and the rest decide for yourself if you believe or not
