Light Pink Discharge When I Wipe

Hey All,
I'm 7 weeks along and have noticed some light pink discharge when I've wiped both yesterday and today. It was only once each of those days, but it's still giving me pause. My doc says its normal and is telling me no physical activity until my appt next week. Has anyone else dealt with this?

Re: Light Pink Discharge When I Wipe

  • With my daughter I had some spotting right around 7 weeks. for 1-2 days. I was absolutely, 100% convinced I was having a miscarriage (I had had 2 previously). The first u/s was soon after and we found out everything was fine, and the pregnancy was totally fine throughout.

Apparently some spotting in the first trimester is VERY common.

  • Very very common.

    TW-Bleeding

I actually had a small bleed at 10 weeks with my son. bright red, and probably enough to fill one pad. And then it just stopped. We went in, got checked out, had at ultrasound and saw him moving around and his heart beating, and that was that, just another day or two of dark brown very light spotting as the rest filtered out. end TW

    He's 19 months now.

  • That's so good to hear, y'all!!! I'm trying to stay calm, but it's just so hard to be when you have discharge like that.

  • I had spotting with DS. Started day after I tested. Had an early US where they found a subcutonic hemorrhage. Ob said it was nothing to worry about. It went away on its own after a week or so.
  • You have all my sympathies, I had some pink last night, too. I'm trying hard not to freak out. I've had spotting that quickly turned to bleeding and worse, but I've also had spotting that meant nothing. With my daughter I had spotting that lasted for around a month or month and a half in the first trimester and she was totally fine.

It happens to a lot of women, and it can mean nothing. Even bright red blood can be fine, but if it turns to that I'd want to get an US to make sure things look OK. Otherwise you just have to wait it out.  :/

  • Make sure your doctor knows about any bleeding regardless, though. With my blood type I have to get a shot if there’s ANY bleeding, to prevent my body fighting off the embryo.
  • There is another thread right now about light brown spotting.  Same deal.  Feel free to call your provider, but they will probably tell you it's normal.  Try not to worry!

We also have a weekly questions thread where this question would be perfect to post, for future. ❤
