I took spin this morning and it was the scary intense instructor who pushes hard. So sweaty. Also I hadn't taken spin since getting pregnant and my lady parts are sore! I know it gets better but I also think the pregnancy swelling/pressure makes it worse.
@llamamama14 I used to do spin at least once a week before pregnancy, but I stopped because of my wrist. Now my wrist is back to normal, and I want to get back into it, but I'm sooooo nervous about how out of shape I am
@llamamama14 Great gif! I miss Richard Simmons. Did you listen to that podcast, Missing Richard Simmons? I did and can't decide if it was from a place of caring or a total invasion of privacy...
@doxiemoxie212 I like spin when I'm out of shape because I can hide in the back and go at my own pace.
I was a bad fit mama this week. I traveled for work and thus didn't work out at all. So disappointing.
Finally getting back into yoga! Kinda sucks to not be practicing the "fun" balance/trick poses but I know it's for the best. Helps a LOT with soreness and strength. Should probably add some cardio but it's too damn cold to walk outside. Maybe I'll do a Zumba class this weekend.
@llamamama14 nice work on the spin class! I've only taken one and just about died. Never ever again, I'm too much of a wimp!
@llamamama14 Spin is such a workout! I once did a class and had to get those extra padded underwear things because I was so sore after a week lol. And I say this as a horseback rider, my saddle is like a couch compared to spin bikes.
I worked out once. Better than none, but not the 3 times I was hoping for. Just feeling weak from being sick.

This.
I haven't heard of that podcast @LaceyBee522 I didn't realize he'd gone under the radar.
@ramblebee There's a girl in my class who always brings her own gel seat cover. I may buy one. I guess horseback riding is a no no at this point for you?
@llamamama14 it's true, I can't fit into my breeches anymore. I did ride up until my 12 week though. I'll probably still go spend time with the horses grooming and giving baths when the weather warms up. Being around them is like meditation for me.
@llamamama14 Ugh, the crotch soreness is real. It only takes a couple weeks off for it to return for me and I'm now looking at more like 8... BUT you've inspired me and I just signed up for 12pm spin today. Even worse than the out of shape scaries are the cute 24-year-olds at the front desk who will definitely judge me for my absence (and probably my expanded midsection, too), but spinning is the only workout I've ever really enjoyed and I miss it and I'm doing this.
@ahill24 I think you'd be ok to get back into spin now. You can go at your own pace and it's low impact. If the seat discomfort doesn't get better for me I'm going to get a seat cover (like this.)
@pupsicle23 Yeeey! I ride English and do the hunter/eq stuff at shows. Even if you've been away for a while, it all comes back to you when you get back in the saddle! I took a 2 year break when I sold my horse and went away for college. When I came back I was competing in the same season. What do you ride? I'm sure you'll get right back to it.

@llamamama14
Good for you on spin! I used to do spin all the time like 3-4 years ago and I've been wanting to get back in to it. I guess pregnancy is not the time to start but maybe after? I miss light cardio right now... we used to walk a ton but its winter in Chicago and this weather is making us all lazy.
I've gotten in two weightlifting sessions and 2 tabatas in this week and I'm going to try for one more tabata. We did a long 2 weeks vacay away over Christmas so I'm still getting back into the swing of things. I also gained like 4lbs in 2 weeks so I should try and get this eating under control.
Hoping to post here regularly!
