Re: FriYAY ticker change

  • Weeks: 34

    Expected Due Date: 2/23/18

    What's new with Babe?:

She tried to make an early appearance on Monday but the Dr. stopped her. She's now just as feisty as ever, my little Rocky Balboa in there.

    What's new with Mama?:

Tired, uncomfortable mostly. I got an exercise ball to sit on at work though and it's AMAZING! :)

    Rants/raves/thoughts:

Just anxious to meet my baby! I have a 36 week ultrasound in 2 weeks but I am sure she won't cooperate for that one, either. I just want to see her face!

    Questions: Nope!

GTKY: How long has it been since you cut your hair?

Like... cut cut or a trim? Cause I chopped all my hair off January of 2012 and have only gotten it trimmed since then. But after baby is here and my best friends wedding, I'm going to chop it again!

  • @crossfitbabybump So sorry to hear you had a bit of a scare but glad all is well!

    Weeks: 29

    Expected Due Date: 3/30

What's new with Babe?: She's the size of a pineapple and gaining fat.

What's new with Mama?: Belly is slowly getting rounder.  I'm measuring small though :( Hopefuly at my next appointment (next Friday) I won't have fallen behind anymore.

Rants/raves/thoughts: My first shower is next weekend and holy cow I just can't believe I'm in the home stretch.

    Questions:

GTKY: How long has it been since you cut your hair?  It's probably been a solid year since I even got it trimmed.  I should probably do that this weekend...
  • Weeks: 33

    Expected Due Date: 2 March

    What's new with Babe?:
He has slowed down a little in there. I think he’s finding less room to wiggle. Everytime he turns it feels so very weird. All was good with him at my appointment yesterday.

    What's new with Mama?:
I talked the L&D nurse at my class last week and followed up with the PA at my OB’s office yesterday about my belly getting hard at night for an hour or longer. The PA was fine with me just talking to the RN and letting her feel my belly. She said she thinks I have an irritated uterus from kicks and wrestling my two year old and that it’s definitely not a contraction. So yay to have that cleared up. My next appointment should be with my OB so I’m looking forward to covering some questions about March—how to handle if I’m overdue, how short my labor was with my first, the possibility of a water birth.

    Rants/raves/thoughts:
Rants: My patience level is barely topping out at 3/10 which is unfortunate when I have a toddler testing boundaries and a sister who is being especially annoying. I also feel bad for MH because occasionally I lose patience with waiting for him to do something I asked him to do already and I’m kind of not very nice about it.
Also, my hips are ridiculous. No matter what I do my hip flexors are really tight.

Raves: I’ve started upping my squats and lunges, and have found that a random dance party in the afternoon wears out the toddler and lets me get in some time on the exercise ball.

    Questions:
Not unless anyone is interested in a long complicated story about how sucky my ILs are. Lol!

GTKY: How long has it been since you cut your hair?
Two weeks ago for a color and a trim. Before that I think it was either May or July. I don’t remember. But I finally found a hairdresser I like here and I go back two weeks before I’m due for a refresh. Then I’ll schedule something for when Baby is a couple months old. An actual cut off a bunch of my hair, haircut?? That would have been October 2014. Lol!

I’m so glad Baby Rocky is staying put @crossfitbabybump

@antoto with my first I measured small from 27/28 weeks until 36. Suddenly DS hit a growth spurt and was right on track.

  • Weeks:32

    Expected Due Date:3/9

What's new with Babe?: not a lot. Wiggly at night but that's nothing new. NP said baby was head down on Monday so that's good.

    What's new with Mama?:
we head to Mexico next week for a conference/baby moon and I am excited but really nervous about flying and leaving my other 2 kids.

This morning I cut bangs and a face frame if that counts otherwise it was probably July. I colored it last night a fun fresh copper red which DD promptly told me this morning it's too bright, big, and crazy and I should go look in the mirror because it looks weird- 4 year olds!

  • @mdfarmchick @antoto - yes it was quite the scare! and thank you! I'm glad she calmed down! Starting January 26th I will be getting check for dilation though. Dr. thinks she'll be making her entrance soon and she'll be a big baby. Lord, help me now! lol :D
  • @mdfarmchick - also, have you tried sitting on a pregnancy ball? I changed my chair out at work for one and it has helped tremendously for my hips!
  • @crossfitbabybump I’ve been bouncing on the yoga ball all week... my hips are just unhappy with all the relaxin in my body.

    Weeks: 31!

Expected Due Date: March 16. Can kind of safely say we've got "two months" to go.

What's new with Babe?: Plumpin' up. Finding new ways to poke me. Torturing my ribcage. Totally amazing.

What's new with Mama?: It's been a tough couple of weeks. My maternal grandmother died just before the new year (after a living for years with advanced dementia in a nursing home), we had her funeral, and then my mom ended up in the ICU. She woke up with chest pain earlier this week and it turns out that basically the most important coronary artery she's got was significantly narrowed, requiring either emergent open heart surgery or stenting, depending on who we asked. Basically, if she'd actually had a heart attack (complete blockage, which she was not far off from), she could have died quickly. This was a weird case cos she's pretty healthy for a 65-year-old and didn't have plaque build-up anywhere else "downstream" in her heart (much more common). Anyway, it was super stressful! She ended up getting two stents via cardiac cath and is basically back to feeling like her normal self. Crazy.

Rants/raves/thoughts: I'm just exhausted and grateful that my baby still has a grandma. My husband is cleaning the house while improvising "opera" which is.. interesting, lol.

ETA We've gone to our first childbirth class now, but I'm definitely feeling like I should start prepping for labor! haven't ready any of those books yet.

Questions: how are y'all? planning to do some poking around here and catching up.

GTKY: How long has it been since you cut your hair? I had a 5-minute, free, in-between haircut trim the other day. I have to get hair maintenance every couple of weeks because I'm growing out a pixie.
  • @orbmaker What labor books are you planning on reading?

@mdfarmchick I have a little pile I plan to try out... Ina May, Bradley, Hypnobabies, Birth Without Violence ... some other randos that got passed along to me.
  • @mdfarmchick - hang in there Momma! We’re almost there!
