Why my pregnant self is crying...

What's making those emotions roll today?

Re: Why my pregnant self is crying...

  • Today is my DS's last day in the infant room.  He's been with the teacher in there for almost a year, she's like family.  When you find someone you trust with your infant it is so hard to let go.  And....I think they are saying my baby isn't a baby anymore?  All the tears!  :'(:'(

  • DD woke up ten times last night. TEN. And DH kept me up with him until 2am, and it's my "Monday" at work. I also apparently decided to start a coffee aversion today, and it's my birthday. Mulligan?
  • Yesterday I cried about our sweet, weird cat we had to put down in the spring and today I got teary dropping DS off at preschool. Normal day but he just seems so big all of a sudden  :'(

I cried yesterday about our dog we had to put down in May. Like sat at my desk and had big, fat alligator tears coming down. I get it.
  • @mrslittlemac That sounds extremely shitty.  Hope the rest of your day goes better - happy birthday!
  • Sad news/facebook stories about kids. Like, literally I'm sobbing. Even when I scroll past some of this stuff, I still get weepy because I still had time to scan the headline.  It's such a sad and unfair world.
  • This is a few days old but three words: This is Us. I may have to stop watching during pregnancy. I watched on Wednesday and was a hysterical basket case. DH was concerned until he realized it was just the show, and then he thought it was hilarious and kept calling me a crybaby.

  • Last night I read the book "On the Night You Were Born" and couldn't even finish it. DH was all concerned because I wasn't this emotional last pregnancy.

    @mrslittlemac Happy Birthday!

  • @legallykate That show gets me every time, pregnant, postpartum or for no reason at all.  Damn those writers.
  • Last night I started crying when the St. Jude Children’s research hospital commercial came on.

  • @LizQ2 Also me, every time. And the commercials about abused pets? Can't even watch them.
  • @ashleyandjody I can never make it through ‘on the night you were born’. Seriously, I don’t think I’ve ever read it once without sobbing.

@juliebird6 yes to the sad Facebook stories. And I’m a masochist and will actually read them too. It’s horrible.

For me today it was facebook stories and a movie preview about motherhood (posted in randoms before I saw this)

  • @hardlyhannah I'm usually good with that book because it brings back so many great memories that DH and I reminisce on. Trying to calm me down, DH said "DD wasn't even born at night, she was born at 9:00 in the morning." That did not make it any better...

  • DD had had a double ear infection for the past 4 days. It's still going strong, and she had a terrible cough on top of it. So limited sleep all week. Last night she woke up complaining about her ears again and only wanted Mommy after I had just fallen asleep. I was so so tired and just wanted to go to bed. I broke down right in her room, and then she started crying because I was sad, so I started crying even more.
  • ^ thank you!
  • @jsnakehole the illustrations are on point. So cute.
  • @mrslittlemac I forgot to add the Happy birthday! I hope it starts turning better

August '18 March Siggy Challenge - You had ONE JOB

    Pregnancy Ticker

  • @mrsbubbles-2 I know!  I just want to tell the teacher I love so much that I'm pregnant and she will have our next little soon enough, but it seems weird to tell the daycare teacher so early.  I do have the issue to deal with this time that they don't take infants until they are 6M.  No idea what I'm going to do from 3-6M.  She probably would quit if I ask her, but then I'd want her to get the job back when the new baby is 6M.  Sigh
  • @livinthesunnylife 6 months?!? Oh my! Can you get in-home care or something like that for those 3 months? And I totally understand - there's a special bond with the provider you leave you child with when they are that young. It takes a huge amount of trust! I told DS's daycare yesterday that he's going to be a big brother! They were getting really confused about me crying every time I picked him up and he had an art project so I spilled. One of his teachers is pregnant as well so it was really cool!

  • @mrsbubbles-2 Yeah, the 6M is only for siblings too!  DS started there at 8M.  But we went there to follow this teacher we loved from another daycare so it worked out.  I think I need an in home nanny for 2-3M, but I don't know how to find one and what the timing looks like.  I doubt anyone would commit to something that short term this early?  I'm hoping maybe there's a SAHM in my neighborhood that is sending their littles to school?  Fingers crossed.
  • @livinthesunnylife A girlfriend of mine needed short-term in-home care for her littles for about a 6 month time frame while she and her husband figured out some work schedule stuff. She went through care.com and loved them. FX you find someone amazing!

Oh me to!!! I cried though the whole last show then couldn't stop crying about a son not remembering special moments with his mom. It just broke my heart.
  • I teared up last night because DS, who is 4 asked me if I was sure I could eat ravioli because of the baby.  It was "making me real nervous" he said. AWWWW

Why is it only letting me type in the gray box?? GRRR....

Anyways, yes - the 3's teacher at DS's school, she still is involved a bit in the 4's class now that he's moved up and I talk to her every day and I want to be like "im having a baby will you promise me you'll still be here so they can have you " hahahha

    @mrslittlemac Happy Birthday!

I have never been able to read that book without crying. At this point it’s just annoying. I literally can’t get through it!

  • @mrslittlemac Happy Birthday! I hope it gets better.

I cried the other day watching Jeopardy because Alex Trebeck seems so nice. He made a stupid joke or comment and I lost it. Luckily DH was in the basement and didn't witness my foolishness.
  • I heard the Navy hymn (Eternal Father, Strong to Save) today and totally lost it. My grandpa was a corpsman at Iwo Jima, and that song always reminds me of his funeral. Usually doesn't make me cry like a baby tho.

  • Thanks all for the birthday wishes! It was better after I napped with DD for a couple hours before work and skipped out to get Wendy's for lunch in the middle of my shift. Long day, but ending on an upswing!
  • Can I just say EVERYTHING! Bawled my eyes out on the way home because DD wasn't going to be an only child anymore and what if she hated her sibling.
Also the washer broke and flooded the basement, brakes went out on the car (we have negative degree windchills right now) and DD got sent home with head lice! Totally taken care of but can I just say I dislike school sometimes!
  • @legallykate @danna_lyn this is us took me down this week too. I sobbed. I was thankful I was by myself because DH would have thought I lost it.
  • I cried a dumb amount of times during the movie Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. There’s def parts to get teary eyed at but it’s supposed to be a super duper dark comedy. I guess the bleak darkness got to me cause I was a wreck the whole time.

  • @hoodwink89 so sorry about your string of back luck, those all sound like major meltdown moments in my book. Poor DD, I had head lice in first grade and still remember the trauma from it. I hope things turn around for you all this weekend.

@marafox I just can't on the dark films anymore after watching Manchester by the sea. It seems to me that all the award winning/ nominated films are  macabre.

  • I cried at a funeral, that’s normal. What wasn’t normal was when I cried during a Christmas episode of Family Matters.
