1. It's 44 and sunny here today!!! That's practically beach weather at this point! 2. Brunch with my siblings on Sunday for my sister's birthday. Cannot wait!! 3. Siblings that I'm close to, with spouses that are all equally as close. We make a good group! 4. Pinterest for recipes keeping me interested in eating as much protein as I need to be consuming right now. 5. Oh and Skinny Taste too! 6. My husband for salting our whole block for me so I could get to my car this morning with all of the ice we got last night (and yes, again...it's 44 right now!) 7. A very understanding and caring manager who actually wants to know about my RE appts and have us leave work early when the shit weather is coming to make sure we're home safe. 8. TB ladies! Seriously been a life saver, especially while close to starting IVF. 9. My momma! Her birthday was yesterday and she's just amazing and I'm super lucky! (sidenote, I sent her flowers from 1-800 flowers and they turned out super different from the pic so they gave me a 50% refund...score!) 10. Amazon prime. Amazon will probably always make my list - even if I don't write it, it's in my heart.
@50wife Prime ❤️ @emmasemm You’re darn right your two follies make the list!
1. Supportive connections I have formed through here. 2. 50% off Starbucks holiday clearance. 3. A safe drive through the fog this morning. 4. My education & literacy. 5. MH fixed a part on my car last night. It works better now!! 6. Electricity for my heated blanket, with which I sleep. 7. My sweet-pea. (A rare phtotograph of her in the nude. She was so proud she knocked down the recycling.)
8. MH’s infectious smile and laugh. They bring much & great joy. 9. My 2018 planner! It helps me stay focused and organized (okay.....more than if I didn’t utilize it!). 10. New glass three-compartment dishes for lunches!
1. Finally having a more concrete idea of when we can try again. 2. DH being supportive and exciting (he's not handled everything too well) 3. Strong wine 4. While there is a lot to hate about my job (poor management) when left to my own devices, I have a job that I enjoy. 5. Holiday weight is nearly gone. 6. That my kitties are finally accepting their new brother. 7. It isn't as cold this week as last. 8. For plaquenil. I have had so little pain lately. It is amazing. 9. Motivation to use the treadmill 10. That there is chocolate to eat after I get off the treadmill.
@jrm_14, I have been terrified of plaquenil for years (I work for an ophthalmologist.). I regret that so much. It is a miracle, that I think is making me lose my hair, but so worth it,. Lol
@holly321 That’s awesome that you feel so much better on it! It was the first med I started taking- 15.5 years & counting! I get my eyes checked every 6 months & have the visual field testing done. I’ve had one eye doctor be super nervous about it and one that said current research shows it is far less of a risk than thought. What does yours think? Is it possible the methotrexate has made you lose some hair? It always made my hair very thin Taking a high dose of folic acid (4-5mg/day) helped.
My doctors I work for said it is very safe as long as you stay under 400 mg a day. We have a retina doctor come in our office weekly, so I hear all the horror stories, so I think my view is skewed. My rheumatologist was telling me how he went to a conference recently discussing eye issues with autoimmune disease, and that they are now thinking the issues are more from the disease than the medication. I used to also be a visual field technician, so I knew how awful they were before (not that that stopped me from taking it.). My biggest hold up is that all my blood work is clean. (Until last year, I had a slightly elevated WBC) So, while symptomatically, there is something seriously wrong with me, and I have a "diagnosis" that can evolve, and it scared me to take a medication when something else could be wrong. My rheumatologist said if it helped, it was clear I have the lupus like issue he thinks. Obviously, it is what we thought.
Methotrexate caused hair damage and thinning, but that stopped a few weeks ago (which was a few weeks after my last injection.). It just started happening again, and much worse. my hair falls out bad sometimes from the illness, but I doubt that is the cause since I am feeling so well. I will talk to my pharmacist tomorrow about folic acid and how much I can take with my PNV. Thanks for the suggestion! I guess we will see soon enough, because my OBgyn wants me to stop a few weeks before I start trying again.
