    @efavell02 Woohoo!!! If you ice the area before you give the shot, you won't feel anything! :)

  • @halfanewt. That’s great news!  Thanks for pointing out that option. My brain isn’t working very well right now. That’s probably what I’ll do.
  • Looks like everyone is doing great! I had my 5 day stim u/s yesterday. But they thought they saw fluid in my uterus (which is not good). So I went back today to have a different tech. They said there is NO fluid, that is great but very confusing. Today they said I have 9 follies greater then 10 and my estrogen is good too. So I’m doing good with the drugs. Sorry no specifics, I didn’t ask.
  • @chillvazz great to hear your update! sounds like you're doing pretty well, growth wise.

    @efavell02 how exciting!! i'm definitely jealous... my last shot of menopur tonight was a major bitch. couldn't find a soft spot to punch through the skin so kept moving around. when i finally got it in, it burned like hell and then i got light headed and had ringing in my ears. fortunately it went away and am back to normal.

    which hcg trigger are you doing? you have me concerned about the difficulty of the shot... is it a butt shot?  the nurse said I could use my leftover ovidrel shot from an earlier failed IUI cycle. I always did those in the tummy... but can it also be in the butt?  i guess i'll find out tomorrow.

    @tosh24 @hoffman7 @halfanewt -- did you experience any constipation post ER? i was reading suggestions to start a stool softener before ER.  i'm getting nervous about the post-ER recovery and side effects.

  • @northbeach3 ug Menopur is the worst :(
    Im doing novarel (hcg) for a trigger. It has to go in to muscle, not fat, so it goes in the upper butt/lower hip region. And the needle is pretty long. I was just nervous because DH has to give it because I couldn’t reach. In the end, I barely felt the needle or meds going in. It’s not a prefilled syringe; you have to draw it up like Menopur but using no q cap just the needle. So kinda a pain, but it went fine.

    @kiwi2628 yay!!! So excited for you!! Praying they catch up for your ER

    @efavell02  how did the trigger go last night?

    @chillvazz  sounds like this are progressing well!

    AFM after 3 days of stimming I had monitoring today I have 12 less than 10mm. He might up my meds he’s waiting to see my estrogen levels. When should I expect to see measurable follies? I go back again on Sunday.

    Edit- meds not mess

    @kiwi2628 YAY!!! Amazing news!!!

    @chillvazz Glad the fluid disappeared (or wasn't there to begin with...who knows!). FX things continue to go smoothly!

    @efavell02 Yay for trigger! Hope it went well.

    @northbeach3 I think it's a good idea to have some on hand. I would wait to take it as the IV meds they give you for the ER can upset your stomach, so you wouldn't want to have taken a stool softener before you know if your going to have the runs anyway! I didn't have any constipation problems after ER, but my GI tract has been fairly sluggish because of the progesterone that I'm on (happens every cycle I take it), so I think it's that which has been my main issue.

    ETA:
    @beachbunnyxo123 After only 3 days if stimming, it's still pretty early. I forget, were you suppressed at all (EP protocol or BCP)? If you were suppressed, it can take longer for the follicles to plump up and often takes a higher dose of meds too.

    @beachbunnyxo123 I didn’t have have any measureable in stim day 5, which they said was not unusual but they did double my Menopur and up my follistim. Then things picked up well from there. I saw measureable follicles the next appointment, 2 days later.

  • @efavell02 do you stim at night? Last night was my third night of stims so would today be stim day 3 or 4 for me? I know technically it’s stim day 4 but since I haven’t stimmed before my US I didn’t know if that mattered
  • @beachbunnyxo123 I guess I don’t really know. I took Menopur in the am and follistim in the pm.

    It is exciting to see how many people have already started their stims and some have even gone through  ER. FX crossed for everyone! I personally feel like waiting on egg/embryo updates before the transfer is the hardest part of it all.

    @J1006 Congrats on your ER results. 15 eggs is amazing and I hope they are all mature and fertilize.

    @marfi236   Glad your baseline went well and I look forward to your stimming updates.

    @kiwi2628 Your Day 10 stims update looks pretty awesome!

    @efavell02 I hope your ER goes smoothly tomorrow and you get a lot of good eggs!

    @northbeach3 Thanks for the spreadsheet, it’s very neat. FX for your ER on Sunday.

    @tosh24 Wow!

    @chillvazz Good to have you on the board. I have a daughter who is turning 3 in March and wants a sibling too.

    hoffmanr7 Baby dust to you and your embies  and FX for your transfer.

    AFM, I went in for my baseline on CD2, Sunday 1/7 and started stimming on CD3, 1/8, no BCP this time. My AFC was 9 which was very disappointing especially since I had a count of 30+ at a diagnostic exam in December. The ultrasound lasted something like 30 seconds though and I feel like the technician did not do a great job. But I was also taking 2000 mg  Myo inositol daily to help with egg quality all through December, so I now wonder whether this has played a trick on my AFC or not.  I had 18 follicles on my stim day 3 appointment but none of them were over 10mm. Hoping for some better results tomorrow, stim day 5. I am taking Follistim 225 & Menopur 75 and  they have not upped my dosage so far.

  • @tosh24 I came off a natural cycle but primed with estrace since 7dpo. They are upping my gonal f to 450iu tonight and tomorrow and I go in again on Sunday
  • @J1006 15 eggs that’s great!!! Congrats!!! Keep us updated on fertilization!

    @sidilly Don't worry about having 'better results'. 18 follicles at day 3 is really good- a lot of people on the thread would kill for that. Plus day 3 is really early to know anything. I know some people think 'the more the better', but thats actually not necessarily true- studies have shown that more than 20 eggs can actually affect egg quality and give you fewer embryos at the end
  • so many updates!!

    @J1006 great egg count! fx for lots of mature eggos and quality fertilization.

    @marfi236 exciting that you're solidly in stims-land now.  what was your AFC?

    @kristimh80 you're so close to starting... i imagine you're pretty excited.  if found that week 1 went by kinda slow, but week 2 came and went like warp speed!

    @beachbunnyxo123 wasn't your AFC 12? if it's only been three days, wouldn't they all be around 6-7 mm if they're growing 2mm per day?  i'm not sure, but that's what i've heard.  of course, i didn't have monitoring until day 7.

    @kiwi2628 sounds like your eggos are plumping up nicely and will have some more time to cook. i'm jealous of your e2 count... i asked today and mine was 941 yesterday.  seems low for where I should be.  gonna try not to do the comparison game like you said.  -_-

    AFM, had final maturity check today (Stim day 11) -- 12 follicles were at or above 15mm (ranging from 15-20) with 3 borderline. Will trigger with single Ovidrel shot tonight (time TBD)... for ER likely Sunday AM and presumed 5-day transfer next Friday.

  • @northbeach3 12 follies is great! And def dont compare E2- I have seen people with E2 levels at 1000 (ish, I cant remember the exact #) who ended up with 10 eggs and then, that same person, in another cycle, had E2 levels at 2000 and ended up with only 5 mature eggs...so while there is some degree of correlation, it can vary, even within the same person. Andplusalso, E2 levels are correlated with follie # and size, and you have a good number and size. FX so hard for you!
  • @kiwi2628 thanks for that example... it does help minimize my worry. it's just that as ER gets closer, my mind starts going into overdrive... i'm trying to be guarded/cautious and as a result, my brain goes overboard in the negative way. it tries to find reasons for why it wont work as a possible protection mechanism to buffer from the devastation.  yay, anxiety!

    speaking of anxiety, i'm now getting worried about the post-ER regimen of suppositories and PIO shots! i'll need to relish in my no-shot saturday. haha :D

  • @northbeach3 yay 12 follies that’s great!!! AFM the biggest follie was 9mm and he didn’t measure the rest just counted and said less than 10. So that could definitely be possible but that he just didn’t measure them. They bumped up my meds too. I go back again Sunday. GL with your trigger tonight yay for no more stims!
  • @J1006 congrats! Hope you get a great report tomorrow :)
    @marfi236 so exciting!

  • @efavell02 nope! Enjoy it :) my only advice - throw in some protein to stave off the morning hanger (if you get hangry)
  • @efavell02 good luck on your ER!  I hope all goes well.

    @kristimh80 Glad to hear you will be starting stims!  Very exciting!

    @northbeach3 Thanks for doing the spreadsheet!  I wish I had more of my info to add.  The nurses never really give me details, and I don’t ask many questions either.  They usually just let me know what my next step is.

    AFM, I have been super busy at work.  I wish I had more time to keep up with all the updates.  Does anyone else feel completely exhausted all of the time?  Tomorrow will be my third monitoring appointment.  Wednesday morning I had 5 follicles on one side and 6 on the other.  They were not big enough yet.  Then in the evening I got a call from the doctor to up my follistem from 125 to 200.  I’ve been doing that since in the evening.  This morning at my second monitoring appointment they had me add the ganarelix.  Hopefully I’ll get more info tomorrow morning at my next appointment.

    Good luck to everyone getting ready for their ER, triggering, and stimming!
  • @northbeach3 I didn't get an exact count.  All I know is, I have at least 10 on each side.
