@starla  so glad they moved your u/s up a bit!  That's going to be a huge relief. :)  symptoms are pretty minimal.  I am tired all the time (as usual) and burping (???), but no real MS yet.  A little spotting/tinged cm here and there, nothing major.  And still getting winded on the stairs.  Ugh.  I have been making a point to eat nutritious food, about 2-3 servings of dairy a day, green veggies, some fruits, a couple eggs (though a day or two, I missed the eggs, so I made a point to get them back in), protein - obv, and healthy fats, a few servings of fish a week, some orange/yellow veggies, some citrus, whole potatoes, whole grains etc.  I gained 6 lbs almost immediately, not to mention all the recent IVF weight, (and the IF weight before that), so I want to get on a safe exercise routine asap, too, to help keep things stable here.  Did I mention also I'm tired AF? Lol. [Oh and congestion.] How about you?  Did the doctor give you any suggestions?  Im sorry you're feeling crappy.  Can you try onion tea with honey and lemon?  That's safe for pregnancy and can help clear up your chest when combined with moar sleeeeep. ❤

  • @BusinessWife I'm glad you're still having symptoms. That sounds like a very healthy diet. Good for you!
I've been sick with what the nurse at my doctor's office thinks is a cold + a stomach bug + pregnancy. It's really hard to tell what symptoms are from what. My appetite has decreased dramatically and I'm tired, but that's probably from the illness. I've never had onion tea. It sounds gross!!! LOL I've been having lots of decaf green tea or other decaf teas with honey and lemon. That helps for like 20-30 minutes then I'm back to coughing again. My abs are getting quite the workout from the coughing. LOL
I didn't sleep very well last night and I got up at 5AM when DH got up to go to the airport. Now I'm just chillin in bed with my cat and Bumping.

  • @starla. Aww, yeah that was me for the entire first 5 weeks, sick and coughing and I felt like I broke a rib!  I was desperate and a coworker recommended the onion tea.  It's surprisingly not that bad!  Mostly all I could taste was the honey and lemon, and it would give me such wonderful nap afterward. ;)  hope you're feeling better soon.  I am still just coughing a little and congested, but not like I was.  I think it's been going around....
  • @BusinessWife Yeah everyone is getting sick! It's a really bad flu season and I heard that Alabama just announced a state of emergency because of it. I'm skeptical, but I will check out the onion tea. ;) Do you buy it in tea bags or do you actually boil onions? I also heard that ginger in hot water (make your own ginger tea) works well.

  • @starla. Yes, actual real onions!  Lol Just slice them up a little and boil for a while.  Im telling you, with honey and lemon its surprisingluly not bad. ;) Ginger tea is great too!  Slice up the coins and boil with a little raw sugar and it is UH-mazing.  I think of the ginger more for tummy symptoms, and the onion more for chest/ cough.
  • I think the worst part of pregnancy is not being able to take any medicine (that actually works). I'm finally getting over a month long nasty cold. Another home remedy: my friends swear by drinking garlic beer (obvs replace the beer) you chop up a gross amount of garlic throw it in your beverage and drink it. Since you are suffering from a nasty cold you will think it's great but anyone sitting near you may leave the room. Bonus effect, you won't be eaten by vampires.

Ok after typing all that I wanted to double check the "safety" of what I was recommending and garlic is in the questionable list. Please use your best judgement... Maybe just add some garlic to your dinner :)
