What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves? I was feeling pretty good, other than a a continuously runny nose and scratchy throat, but then last night we had a bit of a scare. Around 9pm my wife accidentally somehow left one of the stove burners slightly on, so it was leaking gas but had no flame. We didn't realize it since we went to bed shortly after, and then around 1am she woke up because she had a dream about smelling gas. She ran out of our room and the whole house reeked of gas, so she turned off the burner and I ran out to sit in our car while she evacuated our pets and opened all the windows. We stayed in the car for about an hour and the gas company came and confirmed all was better, but it was scary. Thankfully there don't seem to be any effects on the baby in these scenarios, as long as I stayed conscious, which I definitely did (there wasn't much gas in our bedroom at all). Even our 7lb cat who was in the same room as the stove is totally fine, so I'm guessing there was no real damage. But, OMG SCARY. Thank goodness she had that dream/must be really sensitive to the smell.
Otherwise things are going well and I have most definitely popped again. Baby's getting big!

What are are you looking forward to with this LO? Or what are you nervous about? I'm looking forward to everything and nervous about everything, since I have no idea what to expect! I think my biggest worry is going back to work, trusting daycare, pumping in my all-male office, etc. I ordered "The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding" and "Pump, Work, Repeat" to hopefully help me plan a bit better. I also registered for at least three books on taking care of babies and I'm signed up for all the hospital classes to put my mind at ease.

What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?
SPD is fucking terrible... We stayed at my in law’s house on Saturday, and we are too large to fit in one of their beds together. (We have a king at home, but they only have fulls, and I have been pushed out of the bed in the middle of the night on several occasions with MH) On top of that, I didn’t have my snoogle, and spent all of yesterday in pain from not sleeping with something between my legs. (That sounds funny) I’m feeling better today but still sore from that.
J has also decided that his only method for communication for the morning is a high pitched whine that never ends -.- Make. It. Stahp!!!!

Anatomy Scan 1/10! Hoping everything is peachy and wonderful, and we can find out the sex.

I’m looking forward to having a cuddly baby again. J is only cuddly when he’s sick or exhausted now and it makes me sad... I’m nervous about whether this one will be as easy to get to eat new foods, or how long until we’ll be sleeping through the night again... J was extremely easy in those two regards. And it probably ruined us for any subsequent child tbh...

The girls go back to parents day out this week (Tues & Thurs) and I’m SO ready! I’m getting a haircut, running a ton of errands and having lunch by myself... I can’t wait!

Tomorrow, it should just be a checkup and scheduling the glucose test so I need to get my breakfast options for that since I don’t like the drink.

I’m actually really anxious about the sleeping situation. Our girls each get up 1-2 times every night and I already feel like I’m going to lose my mind. We’re moving them into the same room next week to get DD2 out of the nursery so who knows how that will change things.
What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves? We finally took DS's crib out of his room (he is 3.5 but never climbed out) and are fully enforcing the big boy bed. Last night went well because he fell asleep on the couch and we just moved him to his bed. He stayed there all night. And then he did great at the dentist this morning. Only a little crying. He is growing up too fast!!
Any upcoming appointments? I have my OB appt tomorrow. It should be uneventful.
What are are you looking forward to with this LO? Or what are you nervous about? I am just more nervous than anything. All the preparation in the world won't tell me what will happen after she is born because it is just so dependent on each baby. I am excited to have a little girl though!
@ivyvines6 I am having trouble sleeping too if I don't put something between my legs. I toss and turn all night.
What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves? Winter break is over and it is back to the grind today. My rant- it was raining today and getting up to an alarm again sucked, especially since DH snored all last night. Rave- I made it out the door this morning without forgetting anything for me or DS. Kinda of a rant and a rave, our Boston work conference was declined. It was for the end of March and I really wanted to go, but was worried about being too close to my due date. I am kind of glad the decision was made for me. I also started talking to my boss today about a hard stop date for work for me.
Any upcoming appointments? I went last Friday. Everything was good. I go back 2/1 and will do my GD screening at that date. My uncle also told me I can let him know if I want another ultrasound to see baby girl, so I may take him up on that.
What are are you looking forward to with this LO? Or what are you nervous about? I am looking forward to the snuggles, the experience of having a daughter, going through more "firsts" and seeing DS as a big brother with her. He already "speaks" for the baby and tells me "She's crying. She needs a hug" and then will hug my belly. I am nervous about balancing the newborn phase and exhaustion with a toddler and pumping again.

@ivyvines6 I'm so sorry you are dealing with that. Pregnancy is uncomfortable enough as it is.

What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves? Not much besides work. It's warming up a bit here, but snow is expected on Thursday. I am just so over winter.
Any upcoming appointments? I had an appointment last week, which went well. Everything looks great. I go back 1/30 for a check up and my GD test.

Not much this week. I feel good, lots of movement and not too much heartburn. Rant: I picked up my son the other day from my parents and my mom said “you’re 5 months? You’re going to be huge!!” Cool, thanks mom. She says she meant it as a compliment. Lol. I mean, I put on a few extra holiday pounds, but I don’t think I’m much bigger than my first pregnancy.

I am looking forward to doing this again with the knowledge and experience gained from when ds was a newborn. It was 2 weeks of stress on top of the hormone crash and absolute fatigue. I won’t put as much pressure on myself to ebf, and I won’t feel like a failure if I have to supplement early on.
I am nervous about the sleep situation with a toddler who half co-sleeps and I’m nervous about c-section recovery with a toddler who prefers mom

@squashandlaces It is really nice. I also text him all my dumb questions that I don't want to ask my actual doctor. He's actually friends with my regular OB and it's nice to know that I am in good hands. I think it is good to not put as much pressure on yourself this time around. That's my plan, too!
@squashandlaces I am with you in Velcro-toddler solidarity. My first was/has never been clingy but DD2 is all about Mama all of the time so this will be... different

So excited to meet her and introduce her to her big brother. I'm nervous about balancing my time between the two and trying not to hurt DS's feelings when his little sister requires so much of me in the beginning but im sure it will all work out.

What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves? I can't wait for a relaxing weekend. Since we moved the weekend before Christmas, we have been busy unpacking or fixing minor house repairs nonstop. I just want to sit on the couch and do nothing!

What are are you looking forward to with this LO? Or what are you nervous about? Finally becoming a mom. We only tried for two years, but I was patiently waiting for DH to be ready for years before then. I am also very nervous about becoming a mom, lol. I'm worried how I'll cope without sleep, how my relationship with DH might change (together for 19 years), and how I'll feel about my daughter. It sounds contradictory, but I don't really like kids (despite wanting to be a parent) and I'm worried that might extend to her.
