Hi guys,
I figured I’d start a new thread for this, as it’s not really a symptom and I’m sure it’s something that would affect a lot of women.
I got a cold sore and just automatically used my tube of Virasolve without thinking. I feel absolutely awful now after discovering it clearly says not to use during pregnancy. I’m just going to angrily kick myself from now on

On that note, does anyone know of any safe treatments for cold sores during pregnancy?

Re: Cold sores while pregnant??
You can reduce the duration of an outbreak with an over-the-counter cold sore remedy such as docosanol (Abreva) and prescription anti-viral medications, such as acyclovir (Zovirax), both of which are considered pregnancy-safe
If unsure you should check with your doctor. The real danger I believe is exposing a newborn to the virus but it's not a big deal when you're pregnant. FYI, this really should have gone in the question thread.
Don't sweat it, one dab of something on your lip *probably* isn't going to hurt the LO.
ETA: the *probably* cause I'm not a Dr, just my opinion
