Re: Due Date Check-In: Second Week of May 5/6-5/12 (1/1)
21 Weeks 2 Days. Due 5/12. Babies are the size of an endive (the Bump) or a carrot (babycenter).
What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?
I have nothing going on this week but I have my next appointment on the 8th so I’ll be getting to see the babies (always excited about that)
Then the 15th we’re leaving to go to California for a week. It’ll be our first time taking DS to Disneyland!
Then the 23rd my mom will be staying with us for a week. The 27th is my baby shower so we’ll be driving down to Colorado for that. Busy month! I’m excited that January will go fast for me though.
Any upcoming appointments?
the 8th for my monthly appointment and she’ll be doing another growth scan to see if the babies are closer in weight/make sure baby B is growing ok.
GTKY: Let's warm it up. What is your favorite summer activity/thing to do?
I loved taking DS to the splash pad at a nearby park but now that we’ve moved, I don’t know if they have any of those here.
I also love when dh barbecues and we can sit outside while I have a glass of wine. So nice.
How far along are you? When is your due date? What's the size of your LO?
21 weeks, baseball cap! 5/12
What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?
Feeling good. Only rant is the unbearable cold and I do not want to go back to work. Ugh
Also anyone else feel like time is passing SO slowly?
Any upcoming appointments?
Nothing until 1/24 ish I think. Which is just HB check and all the usual.
GTKY: Let's warm it up. What is your favorite summer activity/thing to do?
Can I count day drinking? Or laying by the pool...
21+5 DD 5/9 21 weeks is the size of a least weasel. WTF is that? lol
What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?
Just sailing along. No complaints and enjoying the time off from the holidays.
Any upcoming appointments?
This Friday the 5th for just a check up and the 22nd for a repeat AS.
GTKY: Let's warm it up. What is your favorite summer activity/thing to do?
I love to swim and eat watermelon
21 weeks 2 days. 5/12
What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?
I have a cold with a super sore throat, so I think I'll take a couple more days off work. I am having super weird pelvic region pains that I don't remember with my first. Any one else?
Any upcoming appointments?
1/22 is my glucose test - I can't believe it's already time for that! I thought it was around 28 weeks.
GTKY: Let's warm it up. What is your favorite summer activity/thing to do?
Wakeboard/boating.
21 weeks
What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?
This week I'm so grateful for my health. I'm pretty much recovered from the flu, and even though it really stank to have it over the holidays, I had my parents here to help with the kids and I got to actually rest and be sick. Had it been during school, I probably would have gone anyway and gotten much sicker.
Any upcoming appointments?
Not for awhile- 3 weeks I think.
GTKY: Let's warm it up. What is your favorite summer activity/thing to do?
I love to sit in the backyard on summer nights (preferably with an adult beverage). The air smells so nice, and it's good to sit out and talk instead of getting sucked into the couch and TV.
How far along are you? When is your due date? What's the size of your LO? 21w 3d, due 5/11, some random veggie I've never heard of! Ha
What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves? finally got the nursery cleaned out, not quite looking forward to returning to work after the holiday, even if it is just 2 days a week.
Any upcoming appointments? regular OB appt next week, no u/s, and since I work in the office it's very anticlimactic.
GTKY: Let's warm it up. What is your favorite summer activity/thing to do? we love going on the lake, taking the kids to the park, drive in movies, grilling and sitting on our deck, lots of family time. We also have a super cute quaint downtown area that's on the river that my husband and I love to take date nights to and walk around.
@SaVy_05 We also have a riverfront downtown that we enjoy strolling in the summer! It’s really just the little shops we enjoy shopping in.
@k5678 I totally agree that summer makes it much easier to break away from the TV. We are totally guilty of wasting away in front of the TV when it’s chilly or rainy.
@heelsidehero no advice about the pelvic pains. The only pelvic pains I’ve really been feeling is like round ligament pain. I’m sure it’s nothing but you can always check with your DR just in case. Maybe someone else will know! Also I’ve been fighting the same sore throat crud too. Ugh. This weather isn’t helping!
explanation hahah. I’m glad it’s nothing serious though.
22 weeks today, due 5/8, size of a papaya or something? I don't remember lol
What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?
Rant- it's SO freaking cold. -3 wind chill right now. I thought I was done with that shit when I moved away from Iowa. Ick. And today is my first day back at work since Dec. 21st, so I'm definitely not in the swing of things yet. Rave-back to the bump!!! My laptop sucks at home, and mobile kills my battery, so it's nice to be back. Making it hard to get caught up on all my work stuff though! LOL Overall feeling pretty damn good. Guess this is the honeymoon second tri people are always talking about. Never had it with the twins since by the time the nausea and headaches went away, I was already huge and uncomfortable.
Any upcoming appointments?
I have to have another ultrasound in the next few weeks (I need to call and schedule it today!), not really a repeat, but they couldn't see all the pictures of the heart that they wanted to at the anatomy scan since little girl wasn't laying the right way. There was a soft marker for Down's in her heart, but the midwife said it's an extremely common finding and as there are no other indicators, she's very much not concerned. I have my next midwife appointment on the 24th. I have to call and schedule my glucose test, and then I also have to call to schedule an ultrasound sometime for 28-32 weeks to make sure my placenta isn't covering my cervix.
GTKY: Let's warm it up. What is your favorite summer activity/thing to do?
Picnics, taking walks, being able to take the kids to the playground or splash parks, and going to VA Beach with my sisters. Pretty much everything hahahahaha
@bjkay22 I think time is actually going pretty quickly, I can't believe we're almost to third tri!
@lincbeesmom good luck at your growth scan! I definitely miss the frequent ultrasounds that I had with the girls. I hope Baby B is getting caught up! Sounds like you have an exciting January, I'm a little jealous. Definitely dealing with the post-holiday depression where there's nothing going on and we're all stuck in the house because it's so dang cold out!
@charlestonchew I had to look up least weasel because I was intrigued by your post LOL It basically looks like a tiny ferret. Pretty cute, actually!
@heelsidehero I hope you feel better soon! I would definitely take more time off if I could, but it would just make coming back even harder!
@k5678 I'm glad you're feeling better!
@SaVy_05 I miss drive in movies! I think there are a few around here, but not super close. I'm excited for the girls to be a little older so they can stay up late enough to actually watch one!
Married June 2012
BFP June 2013- blighted ovum, D&C Aug 2013
BFP Oct 2013- twins! A&H born May 2014
BFP Aug 2017- EDD 5/8/17
I love the frequent ultrasounds. It makes everything feel real and that everything I’m going through has a reason.
This cold weather sucks and I’m cranky every day because i don’t want to go outside.
What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves? Feeling decent. Still experiencing nausea daily, mostly at night. Headaches have gotten better, but I have started experiencing random dizzy/faintness. Rants: my 3 week vacation turned in 1.5 weeks. meh. Rave: finally think I started to feel baby. Also, I can stomach coffee again and it's giving me life.
Any upcoming appointments? gestational diabetes test @24 week appt (1/16)
GTKY: Let's warm it up. What is your favorite summer activity/thing to do?
Laying in our hammock with my 65lb dog :-)
@lincbeesmomI hope everything goes well at your appt and twin B is growing well!
@bjkay22 time is passing SOOOOO slowly. Also despising being back at work
@charlestonchewa least weasel? lol
@heelsidehero I hope you feel better soon! Re: glucose test, my friend (who is an OB) said that it's usually done 24-28 weeks. He said his practice does 28 weeks because it is most likely to detect GD the further along you are, but he said there's nothing wrong with doing it at 24 weeks, just that you may test negative....but, still develop GD. I am doing mine at 24 weeks, too.
@k5678 I am with you! I love just relaxing in the backyard.
@sandbar517 welcome back! The struggle back to work is no joke. I am glad you are feeling so good, though!
How far along are you? When is your due date? What's the size of your LO?
21w3d, as long as a carrot, or a baseball hat. Or a least weasel (I also have no idea what that is). Due May 12th.
What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?
Back to work. Feeling pretty good! We booked our Babymoon for end of Jan which I'm excited about.
Any upcoming appointments?
Not until Jan. 19th
GTKY: Let's warm it up. What is your favorite summer activity/thing to do?
Spending time by the lake or on a boat. I love the sunshine and water.
@lincbeesmom holy you have a busy month!! Good luck on the 8th! Keep us all posted!
@kpc914 so sorry you are still experiencing daily nausea
@k5678 glad you are recovering from the flu. I'm sorry you got it over the holidays (and at all).
How far along are you? When is your due date? What's the size of your LO?
22 weeks 3 days, coconut or guinea pig. That seems so big
What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?
I'm an emotional wreck so that's good. Poor husband.
Any upcoming appointments?
Glucose on 1/25.
GTKY: What is your favorite summer activity/thing to do?
Reading outside on my deck for every day things. Running on the beach when we make it to the shore.

You are going to have the best time and the food is so great. Tapas is my favorite food in the world! What a great babymoon choice!
I have recently been having panic attacks on planes so a babymoon destination that requires a plane is out for us unfortunately

21 weeks + 6 days / May 10th
What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?
I realized a couple of days ago that the pains I have in my butt during the night (I wake up and it feels like I'm really sore in both cheeks) are probably minor sciatica. I had it last time too, but I don't remember getting it this early. I started doing exercises and sleeping with a pillow between my legs. It's super annoying, but seems to be helping.
Any upcoming appointments?
Not until 1/23 -- having my glucose test then too. Soo not looking forward to it. My doctor only has an orange drink and I truly hate oranges/orange juice/etc. I just cannot throw up. I have a different doctor this time around, but I know I did mine around 24 weeks last time too.
GTKY: Let's warm it up. What is your favorite summer activity/thing to do?
I can barely even remember summer after this never ending cold snap. But my fave is to go to the beach and read a bestseller type of book.
How far along are you? When is your due date? What's the size of your LO?
22+2. Due May 8. Apparently the size of a coconut according to The Bump, which seems huge to me!
What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?
Meh, I don't feel very ranty OR ravey. I just feel blah. Today is my first day back to work and I feel generally very sulky about it, especially since they were calling for a big storm today so I was hoping for a snow day. I know a newborn is not going to exactly be a walk in the park but I am still very much looking forward to my maternity leave. I'm finally feeling baby pretty consistently which is reassuring, except when it stops for a little while and I start worrying about it, cause that's my brain.
Any upcoming appointments?
We have one with the family doctor who's sharing care with my OB on Tuesday. My OB suggested we probably will get the rec for our glucose test then, although that seems quite early to me.
GTKY: Let's warm it up. What is your favorite summer activity/thing to do?
There are a lot... but I'd have to say tops is relaxing with a books and a couple drinks on my parents' dock watching the ocean. I wish I was there right now.
@babys_2018 oh, Spain, that sounds amazeballs! I am super jealous. We went there for our honeymoon and I LOVED it. What region are you going to? Agree with @silverhope that the food is just the best, and I like that it feels overall a bit healthier than stuff in France or Italy for example, so I didn't feel gross all the time.
I had been considering a babymoon but after getting a better idea of what all the stuff we need for baby is going to actually cost it doesn't seem to be in the cards. I had a bit of a moment of shock when realizing how much a decent stroller costs.
I'm a bit nervous for the flight because I took a 3.5 hour flight over Christmas and kinda struggled. I'm planning on wearing more comfy clothes/shoes, having a small pillow and blanket and getting up to walk often.
Sorry to hear about your panic attacks
@thunderberry I totally agree about the sticker shock of baby items!! It's just like the wedding industry!! (A money making market!)
My hubby decided we are going big on this trip and because of zika everywhere it kinda made the most sense. I'm anxious about sitting down to budget out spending though!
- We used our extra time in Barcelona. On the first day we saw Casa Batillo and Palau Guell after our flight landed.
- On the second day we went to Casa Mile/La Pedrera, Park Guell, and then took the bus turistic around to hit the highlights. We went to the Basilica Santa Maria del Mar and the Picasso Museum.
- On our last day to ourselves we rode the turistic bus again (I think you get 48 hours for one price) to get us to the Barceloneta Beach. We got tapas at the Cafe de Sol on the beach and also went to Ice BARcelona (an ice bar by the beach). We took the bus turistic back and then met up with our tour group that night.
The remaining 8 days we were following the tour's schedule: link here for itinerary. This tour company tends to hit all the UNESCO world heritage sites, so I really like their itineraries. When my husband and I go on trips ourselves, I usually copy this tour company's itinerary for our schedule. My favorites were all the unique architecture in Barcelona, Alhambra in Granada, and the Prado Museum and Royal Palace in Madrid.
You are going to have such a great time

@bjkay22 I think you have?
I'm similar to @bjkay22 with the length of time and similar to @SaVy_05 that mine seem related to movement.
(I posted this in weekly randoms also because I thought it might be a UTI and went to the doctor to get checked/tested...nope just pregnancy! Haha)
Yay for tomorrow being Friday!!!
I haven't had a ton of RLP. A few sharp sensations on the lower part of my tummy but nothing that I can complain about too often. I've had more of a stretching sensation where my stomach feels tight.
I've only recently been travelling to Europe and so far Iceland and Italy are my favourites.
Glad your RLP isn't too bad. Getting excited for your appointment on Monday?
I am excited for my appointment! It’s always fun to see the babies
I've heard about the vagina pains. Ouch!! Apparently they are pretty common for 3rd trimester so we will all have to be prepared haha.
edit to add I was in Amsterdam and suburbs for about 12 hours too.
