Catching up! I’ve been MIA this week ladies! Work is crazy, but snow day today!
@fraufarbissina My husband has been on a kick telling my how much weight he’s gained. Really?? Seriously? I’m pregnant over here and swear I’ve gained like 20 pounds.
@JNCPro3130 I’ve been having some lower abdominal pressure too. I just assumed it was RLP, but I’m sure it was comforting to get it checked. I’m a FTM too and I swear everything freaks me out.
@roomsu Teacher right here! We went back Tuesday but had 2 hour delays Tues, Wed, Thurs, cancelled today because it’s like -30 with the windchill. I hate indoor recess. It just makes the kids even more hyper. I love when they can go out and run off energy.
I probably won’t do screen time until after this little one turns one, after that...all bets are off. More screen time doesn’t equal terrible mother. We all are busy and have things we must get done during the day. TV is fine in my opinion
@mmb4532 at such a young age babies usually aren't interested in screens so you shouldn't have any problem doing that. Me personally I survived maternity leave watching my shows while DS would nap on me. He only slept while being held for about the first 2-3 months.
@nanifrog We have a snow day too. It's so windy out I am afraid to drive my dogs to daycare but they NEED it. They haven't had a good run on over a week. Stir crazy here too and then it's the weekend and not expected to get into double digits. Weep womp.
babys_2018 Mine is more or a muscle pain. It lasted all day yesterday and is finally starting to feel better. It literally feels like a sore muscle from working out too much but i took the past week off from working out so I know that isn't it. I have a feeling it is from my expanding stomach. I have a super short torso (I'm only 5 feet tall) and I think the baby finally realized that there is nowhere else to go but out! I didn't really start looking pregnant until last week. And since then the belly has gotten pretty big in one week. Must have had a growth spurt. The pain in the butt stomach just reminds me that something is growing and that is all I care about. I hope we both find a little relief soon.
J only ate a small part of his dinner last night and woke up hungry. Naturally this means he’s being a little asshole for the rest of the day! (Natural consequences give me a headache)
@suchaglencoco and @lincbeesmom I think it factors in the amount of comments you post, how many times you're tagged, and amount of love tits or something like that? Also @suchaglencoco while you're lurking, there was a pretty good drama board on August (I think?) called Husband Micro-Managing Meals. And there are a few mildly entertaining ones on TTGP with people posting pee sticks or asking extremely stupid and offensive, "Is this a symptom of pregnancy?" to a bunch of wonderful women who don't deserve that kind of rudeness. ETA It's on July and here's the link: https://forums.thebump.com/discussion/12722025/husband-micro-managing-meals#latest
Me, 35 Hubs, 32 Married June 2012 BFP June 2013- blighted ovum, D&C Aug 2013 BFP Oct 2013- twins! A&H born May 2014 BFP Aug 2017- EDD 5/8/17
I worked out all the time before I got pregnant. I was a runner and stopped running when I found out I was pregnant. I know it’s ok, but as a FTM I was just so nervous to do so. I miss it though!
@mmb4532 I ran 6 miles the day I went into labor with my daughter! I was already used to running so I kept it up. I had to stop running when i was on bed rest obviously. But I’m slowly starting back.
I didn't put the TV on for kids before 1. There just wasn't a reason. But i sure was surprised there first time i put the TV on and Dora was on and my daughter's first word was "backpack!" MIL had a different approach than i did and apparently 2 hours at her house on Tuesday was enough.
@justsuzie it's frigid here too. I lived in Montreal for a long time and this morning DH told me the temp in Celsius so i could appreciate how cold it will be. He said, It's even cold for Canada.
@fraufarbissina I'm impatient on your behalf. I'm sorry you have to wait so long. If it helps, my Dr said it's better to have it done when baby is a little bigger so they can see things better. I know that doesn't really help.
I feel like i got really huge in the last few days. I suddenly feel much slower and I'm kind of freaking out that I still need to get through a lot of time.
I haven’t had a chance to catch up on the randoms but wanted to post this Incase it hadn’t been mentioned (apologies if it has)... as of 1/3/18 the CDC is cautioning people on eating romaine lettuce which has been linked to E. coli outbreak in Canada and 13 states in the US. They haven’t been able to say for sure it’s romaine lettuce but are cautioning people.
@sparklingdiamond I am about to enter busy season at work as well (almost up until we deliver). I am nervous I won’t be posting as much as I’ve already started dwindling due to YE planning and getting sick. Any ideas on how you’ll keep up? I know @kpc914 is about to enter busy season as well. Part of the reason I voted yes to Facebook group now since it takes less time for me to post there than here and takes less battery life.
Question for the rest of the group - how do you keep up? Do you read all posts to catch up or only look back at say the most recent 25 in any given post. Anytime I see more than 25 new comments or so on a post I get overwhelmed and usually skip the whole post until the next week but then I feel like I’ve missed out on a ton.
@Poppy0419 dayyyum girl! I don't even run 6 miles when not pregnant (unless training for something). I'm going to think of you next time I am being lazy about working out
@heelsidehero I have a hard time since I can't post at work. I try to read through everything but lately I have had to skip some threads entirely. I say just contribute when you can and don't stress about it! I do get some FOMO when I'm so behind.
@heelsidehero we will get through it! Give yourself a 10 min break to get on the bump and decompress. If I see a thread with more than 15 new replies I usually pass of reading through it. If anything, I will keep up with my due date week posting, and maybe an occasional random here and there. It's going to be hard putting in 80 hour work weeks during third tri.... solidarity sister!
@heelsidehero for me it depends on the week. When I'm busier at work, i might skip whole threads. I don't post a ton in the check ins. I check in there middle of the night when I'm awake worrying a lot.
@justsuzie I'm not a super fan of weekly pics for myself. It doesn't make me feel happy to see myself that way. I have a few pics of being preg each time and for me that's enough. Don't waste energy feeling guilty about not doing it. I do, however, wish i had more pics of myself in a bikini when i could still wear one and wish i felt more confident back then. I was hot!
You go girl! I was consistently running about 3 miles or so every other day but stopped when I found out I was pregnant. The first trimester was tough for me, I had a lot of anxiety and fears along with being sick and exhausted after work and my commute. I miss it for sure! I can’t wait to run outside again. (when I’m not pregnant and it’s not -40 outside) I always said I would run through my pregnancies but my anxiety got in the way after I got my BFP. I totally admire you!
