What are some healthy high protein snacks for this always hungry pregnant mom outside of the obvious yogurt, string cheese, almonds? What are you eating that is holding you over for longer than 30 minutes?
You hit most of my go-to's. Since I'm at home with the kids all day I can also raid the fridge for leftovers and get legit chicken, beans, salmon etc. throughout the day. If you're working/ on the go maybe protein bars?
Make a batch of hard boiled eggs and stick them in the fridge. They have great shelf life and normally last about a week. It's a quick snack just to peel one and sprinkle with salt & pepper or paprika!
edit: clearly I respond slow and @BurlapandLace beat me to it!
All great suggestions. when I was pregnant before I went for the yogurt and cheese but something happened in my body in the past 5 years and I have developed pretty aggressive lactose intolerance. the hummus and veggies is a great idea though. That would be easy to snack on at my desk.
This is now my favourite thread because I just spend time yesterday trying to come up with a list of easy to-go high-protein snacks I can have while at work. I only came up with protein bars and hard boiled eggs, and I'm not in to sweets right now and that many eggs makes me want to vom.
But those soy sauce hard boiled eggs sound delish, and I'll be trying those really soon!
Loving all the vegetarian suggestions! For the past couple of years I have cut back on my meat intake, but I'm worried about it being detrimental to the pregnancy. I did notice my SIL (who is a doctor and eats super healthy) always ordering eggs when we ate out when she was pregnant with her first.
Just wondering if anyone else follows NutritionFacts.org? It's a research-based food website and most studies seem to indicate all animal products as being largely unhealthy for humans. You can find pregnancy specific videos here.
+1 almond butter, I love almond butter on apples or bananas, sometimes toast with almond butter and bananas and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
+1 cheese, I have a cheese stick almost daily in the afternoon, it helps (or doesn't help) that I have free cheese at work at all times.
+1 hard boiled eggs, we will make 8-10 on Sunday and then peel them and put them in snack baggies for the week.
Not to kill the vegetarian vibe but we will buy a rotisserie chicken on the weekend and then de-bone it and chop it up. I'll whip up little batches of chicken salad with just a little bit of mayo or make a quick quesadilla.
MH also hunts so we have a lot of venison snack sticks so we always have those in the fridge that I can grab quick. Great for after work while we are trying to decide on dinner so I don't have a meltdown. I'm a toddler.

@sunshineandwhiskey MH gets his scraps processed at a butcher and made into snack sticks. I'm sure if you're in an area with hunters you could find one that will do it. We get them back in sealed packs of 6 sticks and freeze them.

apple sauce {Mott's has extras added to many of their things} hummus + veggies/pita avacado turkey {high protein!} granola {with yogurt or even milk} almond milk {if on good deal - it's expensive} cheese
You can also talk to your doctor/OB about foods with protein for snack wise mine gave me options
@krashke Omg venison sticks are amazing! My husband got a deer in the 2016 hunt and those sticks went super fast lmfao!! {unfortunately he didn't get one this year, too cold the days he went - deer were hiding from wind of course the year I need extra protein ! }
Crap - I haven't seen anyone mention cookies on here... Guess I'm doing it wrong.

Sargento makes these balanced break snack pack thingies. I've only had the one with peanuts because I'm allergic to the other nuts, but isn't bad if you don't want to prep your own snack bags.
I just ate a Three Musketeers bar for the first time in at least a decade. This reminds me that I think we need to start a more regular "What my pregnant self is eating" thread. I always loved reading those!

I love to make protein bento boxes like the one from Starbucks...boiled egg, apple slices, grapes, string cheese, and a couple of crackers with one of these
I am really struggling with food. I just ate a pack of teddy grahams for breakfast bc everything else we have looks terrible. I can’t stomach eggs right now. I’m going to go to the store today to make a more dedicated effort to buy some healthy foods and also to make myself eat more. I like the almond butter and apples suggestion. I’m sure the weight gain is going to start piling on but I’m worried I’m not eating enough.
Re: Healthy Snacks
What about raw veggies dipped in hummus? Beans are a great source of a lot of things, I try to sneak them into snacks whenever possible.

For real, though, I love cottage cheese for a snack. I like it savory (with salt/pepper/hot sauce), but I know lots of people like it with fruit.
