I want to make a mobile for above the crib with punched out paper stars. I wanted to make it for my 2016 baby got all the stuff and never did it. I'm hoping to actually do it this time.
I am crocheting a baby blanket. I have made so many for other women's babies it was odd picking out yarn for my own. I also designed some artwork for above baby's crib. I will post photos when I am done.
If I had more time I'd craft something special, but I don't know fi that is possible right now. I'm hoping to make the canvas artwork for the baby room. Luckily my MIL and sister are SUPER crafty and are making some nice items for baby boy. My MIL is making the curtains and his baptism gown. My sister is going to make the little man a blanket.
@-T- Which patterns do you use for these? I’d love to sew some outfits for LO but a lot of the patterns I’ve seen are not to my taste. These are adorable!
I’ll be DIYing most of the decor for the baby’s room. I also am going to make her a quilt.

I’ve really been thinking about getting a sewing machine and making some baby bibs start with the basics. Any mommas have any suggestions on an easy to use/learn sewing machine to start with?
I just finished the flower mobile! It took about 2 hours and was so simple.. would highly recommend that website's tutorial if you want to make your own!
@babyclarke429 I’m just learning to sew. I have the Singer Simple and really like it. Still getting the hang of rethreading and changing the bobbin, etc but I think that’ll come with any machine for a beginner.
My mom and I are making a triangle quilt for baby, should be starting in the next couple weeks. I’d also like to make some art to hang on the wall but we’ll see - I haven’t painted in forever.

My machine is a Janome 8050 and I like it. I don’t think you can go wrong with any machine honestly. Mine has tons of stitches that I never touch. Straight and zigzag are truly all I use. I would stick with a well known name like Singer, Janome and Brother.
@babyclarke429 Mine is a Singer. It’s my first machine. It’s so easy to use but I can make just about anything on it. Plus, I can find parts and supplies for it anywhere. One day I might upgrade but it’s been awesome so far!

I used up all my creative energy (which was lowwww to begin with, ha) during my first pregnancy. I refinished an old dresser for DS and it’s still my favorite baby item ever. I made my own chalk paint and went for it. We installed a changing pad on top so it’s pretty and functional!
I did a series of 3 paintings inspired by Lilly Pulitzer prints for DDs room. My fav of her 3 is our state painted in with one of my fav prints and a heart over the city she was born in. I painted her name and birthday on it as well. They came out so cute. I’m not sure how creative I’ll get with the new baby. We’re redoing the dresser and painting waves on one wall but SO is the painter so I’ll likely just help here and there. We aren’t sure about decor entirely yet so we’ll see what I come up with.
I have a couple of crafty ideas in mind for the nursery but I'm not sure which one's I'm going to pull the trigger on just yet. I like the idea of making a mobile kind of like this:
I am also considering doing this which would be really easy:
I am done refinishing my girls mobile. I think it's so cute! Not sure what to work on next. Maybe a lumbar pillow for the glider. Or his name for the wall. I'm going to do both.
I did so much for my daughter, but have no motivation to do anything for this one. I also had a lot more free time with her then i do now. They share the samw first initial, so most everything can just be carried over

@riversdoctor
I have some outfits I sewed. I have a couple more in mind, but we’ll see how motivated I am the next few months!

We just found out we are having a girl on Christmas Day, and I am currently making a flower mobile. Here is the website if you'd like to check it out: https://www.mellieandlou.com/2017/03/31/adorable-diy-flower-mobile/
I am hoping it turns out OK! I loved the mobiles on Etsy, but they were 70+ dollars. I got all the supplies at Hobby Lobby for $30.
I wish i could crochet. I would make him a blanket.

I’m super jealous that you’re making a quilt!! We’re team green so I’m going to have to wait if I do that project.

@kmalls I love refinishing furniture as well. Yours came out beautifully
@-T- those are wonderful! How crafty. I have to get into sewing that would be so much fun to do and mess around with different fabrics and styles
