What my pregnant self is eating 1/2

If we had done this the last two weeks we all know the answers would have been drool worthy! (cookies, cakes, pies, prime rib, cinnamon rolls, reese trees, chinese etc)  I'm guessing some of us have put down the cookies (ok maybe no completely), so now what are you eating??

    I'm working to pack my lunches more, like atleast 3/4 days a week.

    I've been craving every kind of morning star veggie burgers.  I've been throwing those on rice, salads, steamed veggies etc.  That's my planned lunches for this week.

    Snack preference: RX bars (or Nakd which are basically the same at RX but an english company that my family owns), berries, yogurts, cheez-itz, popcorn

    Dinners:  we do meat/starch/veggie pretty much 90% of the time.  It's getting boring but it always tastes good and is easy to plan.  Need to mix it up here.  Tonight is tacos which I'm super excited about!

  • NY eve day we had so much food all day to munch on, with leftovers of course, but tonight DH is throwing together chicken tortilla soup. Salads are tasting good these days, along with clementines and apples (and chocolate  :D)

  • Raw veggies and ranch dip. Which is funny because during the 1st trimester raw vegetables were the only thing guaranteed to make me feel nauseous. 
  • French Fries the greaser and salter the better, and Ice Cream.  I also been wanting more salads so it is helping with getting some healthy food.

  • I haven't had any real cravings this entire pregnancy, other than a sweet tooth, but I think that's more of a habit I created rather than a craving.  My goal now is to stay away from the sugar! With the holidays over, hopefully it will be easier.

    DH surprised me with a Le Creuset set for Christmas and I have happily been using them.  Yesterday, I made a huge pot of chili....so that is what I'll be having for lunches the rest of this week.  Breakfast is toasted Ezekiel bread with either avocado or egg and pepperjack cheese.  Dinner is lean proteins and whatever sides I have on hand.  For snacks Ive been keeping the RX bars on hand, bananas with peanut butter or boars head chipotle chicken and a string cheese (I roll it up and microwave for about 30 seconds).

  • @scuba_chic I’ve been on an Ezekiel bread and egg kick here too! Cinnamon raisin was my choice for last week!

  • I'm trying to up my protein now that the idea is it isn't so gag worthy.  I'm trying to eat healthier but I can't seem to get in many veggies. But I do usually have a salad at lunch.

    I've been drinking a shake with a scoop of protein powder and a carnation instant breakfast for the vitamins almost everyday lately because I've noticed my protein intake has been shit.

    Otherwise I'm also on the cereal train!
  • Fritos. So salty...yummmmm!

    And ice cream of course!

  • @nessa1632 I am alllllll about the peanut butter puffins. They are in my constant rotation with Honey Bunches of Oats and frosted mini wheats because I’m 4.

  • @frenchiekinplusone and @nessa1632 might I recommend the choc/peanut butter cheerios.  They are delightful!  I had a bite of DDs plain corn chex this am, also delightful.

  • +1 on the cereal. It's my go-to after dinner snack. 

    I have not had much of an appetite being sick for so long. There have been several times I suddenly realize I'm starving and my stomach is growling. Hoping to get better at snacking between meals to prevent this. I'm pretty much over all of my aversions and food tastes good, healthy or not. I also pretty much singlehandedly put away a tin of peppermint bark in about a week!

  • So much cereal and half a box of those strawberry fruit bars. Can’t stop won’t stop 
  • seriously so much pineapple and strawberries. Also a place called waffle love that does a waffle with cookie butter amazing whipped cream and strawberriesbi could literally eat this everyday

  • @dirtyboots those look soooo good!! I spent 3 hours home making a batch on christmas and they were soooo good but got stale too quick to enjoy more than a couple days!

  • I just went to a client lunch and ate a sandwich and kale salad. I am appropriately full. So why couldn't I keep my hands off the brownies in the conference room and then eat more candy at my desk? I'm a freaking sugar fiend. Wish me luck on my glucose test tomorrow  :o
