First Son - born 2013
Second Son - born 2014 - Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV). First open heart surgery at 5 days old. He's had 3 open heart surgeries and several other procedures and is currently doing amazing.
Third Son - due June 9, 2018
Re: Due June 8 - 14th? Check in Here! (week of 12/28)
What has been the best thing about the holidays this year? Settling into our new house, which is actually big enough to have people over and entertain. Our last place was so small we rarely had anyone over, which made me sad as I love being social.
Have you bought anything for the baby yet? I just ordered the first baby outfit off Zulily. Since this is boy #3 there is very little we actually NEED to buy - diapers and wipes is about it. But every baby needs something new.
What are your New Year's Eve plans? This Saturday night MIL is coming to stay and watch the boys while DH and I attend a game night party - Everyone brings games like Cards Against Humanity, Joking Hazard, Balderdash, or whatever and we play games all night long. There are 20 some people that go to this every year, and it's a lot of fun. Then on NYE we're heading to a friend's house for the New Year. Kids are welcome at that party.
Adding in another question - What New Year's Traditions do you have? We eat pork and sauerkraut on New Year's Day for good luck. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
First Son - born 2013
Third Son - due June 9, 2018
Not yet. I need to discuss this with my midwife at my next appointment (18 weeks).
What has been the best thing about the holidays this year?
Not having to travel/having everyone come to our house to celebrate. I hate traveling.
Have you bought anything for the baby yet?
I’ve bought a couple of girly print cloth diapers for her *heart eyes*
What are your New Year's Eve plans?
No plans as of yet. I am exhausted from all the Christmas activities still, so it would be nice just to have a relaxing weekend at home.
Do you have any New Year's traditions?
No traditions. Interested in seeing what other people’s traditions are. Maybe I can adopt some
Has your anatomy scan been scheduled yet?
January 11! I'm equally excited and terrified, which is my general state of being these days.
What has been the best thing about the holidays this year?
I've slept in every day I had the opportunity to. And MH would get up earlier which meant I had the whole bed to myself in the mornings. It was glorious.
Have you bought anything for the baby yet?
Not yet. For some reason it still feels too early. I think I'll start feeling more motivated after the anatomy scan hopefully confirms baby is healthy and whole.
What are your New Year's Eve plans?
We don't have plans for new years eve, I actually prefer to stay home lol. I never feel safe driving at night that night. But we're hanging out with family and friends throughout this weekend, which I'm looking forward to.
Do you have any New Year's traditions?
Usually I'd just have some champagne and watch the ball drop or something, which I don't think is really a tradition. I'll be doing neither this year as we don't have TV and I'll be skipping the champagne. I'll probably just have a cozy night in with MH and watch a movie or something.

What has been the best thing about the holidays this year? seeing the holidays through my toddlers eyes has been such a beautiful thing.
Have you bought anything for the baby yet? we aren't 100% sure it's a boy just yet... but there was a store nearby that had buy1get2free infant apparel, so we may have bought a dozen outfits.
What are your New Year's Eve plans?
I pretended my sparkling grape juice was champagne and kissed my husband. Nothing extrordinary... I'm not a huge of going out NYE.
& no new years traditions around here.
Getting to see all of my family was the best part! Two of my cousins had babies in the fall so I got to cuddle them tons.
I bought a super cute gray/black/red diaper bag with a little skull on it. If we have a girl, I'll add a big red bow or something.
We put the kids to bed and just hung out. I think I was asleep by 9:30, lol
No traditions here, we're kind of lame lol
What has been the best thing about the holidays this year? To be honest, the holidays this year were a little bit of a bummer. Didn't put in 10% of the effort I typically do. Was a tough month. Best thing by far was knowing this little one is growing and that I am carrying the best present I've ever received.
Have you bought anything for the baby yet? I have not. My mom just bought it's first gift on Christmas. I think once I know the gender, then it will be on!
What are your New Year's Eve plans? My bf and I cooked an awesome dinner at home. I enjoyed a half a glass of wine and passed out at least 4 times before midnight, with him waking me up so I wouldn't be bummed about missing it.
Do you have any New Year's traditions? We used to have a ton when I was a kid that I'd love to bring back, but lately, nothing super exciting besides eating seafood.
@mytinc love Zulily! I am actually gonna head over there right now to take a peak.
@RatParade I am right there with you teetering the fine line of excitement and fear. Alldayeveryday
What has been the best thing about the holidays this year? - like @twelvetwosomeonenew said - seeing my toddler enjoy the festivities. She became OBSESSED with watching Frosty...Frosty all day every day...while I've had enough of Frosty I love watching her excitement.
Have you bought anything for the baby yet? I've bought a few little things for the nursery décor and some fabric to start making a blanket for her...I'm just now getting close to being done with my DD's quilt and she is 18 months now...I won't let that happen again this time...but there is a back story to the delay we don't need to get into.
What are your New Year's Eve plans? - I did NOTHING and it was great...watched Shameless in bed then went to sleep. I really don't get the hype of NYE at all...never really have. I'll take the day off of work though, haha.
Do you have any New Year's traditions? nope
