Who is doing something fun?! I need to live through you since I had to cancel our dinner reservation, hubby has the stomach bug and 2yo has a fever with a cold and cough. Party dresses? Date nights? Tell me something good!
Just DH and the kids and I. We are having low country shrimp boil, crab legs, spinach artichoke dip, jalapeño popper dip and cheesecake. And we are watching despicable me 3 and the ninjago Lego movie.
Pretty wild night over here... I made chili in the instant pot, now I'm giving the toddler a bath while DH breaks down all the cardboard from Christmas. I do have some fancy sparkling grape juice for later, haha.
Wow we’re all a bunch of party animals lol. I’m sick waiting for my throat culture results, obsessively taking my temperature, and binging last season of The Americans. MH and I just agreed to postpone our wedding anniversary celebrations (tomorrow). We weren’t going to do a whole lot for it, but I don’t even want to exchange gifts in this condition. Hopefully we’ll get a chance to make up for it next weekend.
I put away a few months worth of clean laundry and now I’m taking a bubble bath. Honestly, there is nothing I’d rather be doing. I wouldn’t object to a deep tub that covered my belly though.
Awe...you gals are the best. I am home feeling sorry for myself because tonight just sucks. (Seems like everyone is out and living it up but me. ) Grateful to have a bunch of ladies who are chilling at home just like me. Thank you!
Yeah... it’s been a binge kind of day around here. If you can binge on laundry, cleaning and organizing. MH just ordered us a pizza and the toddler ate half of my pizza as a second dinner and is hopefully finally crashing. I’m rewatching old episodes of Iron Chef America and not planning on being awake in 2 + hours for midnight. I celebrated with a coke and a few sips of wine.
It's 1 a.m. here and I am surprised I'm still awake! We had family and a friend over and had our traditional snacky appetizer dinner - corn dip, cheese ball, weinies, veggies, and sausage and cheese. We toasted the New Year with sparkling cider while channel surfing through all the NYE shows.
The highlight of our night was waiting to see if Mariah Carey would blow it again and making fun of Britney Spears's jerky dance moves. Talk about lame!! Ha ha!!
Well, @amylonghorn - do tell! Did Mariah make a fool of herself again? We had my parents over, they left by 10, and we gave up and went to bed by 11:30 (conveniently right before she took the stage). I got all I wanted - sparkling juice, pizza, salsa con queso, and a little bit of socialization. There was no need to stay awake any longer.
@StephBrim24 She was a smidge off in parts, but it was super friggin cold so totally understandable. And at least she actually sang this time!! We joked more about her talking about hot tea in between songs!! "Somebody told me there would be hot tea!" DH kept saying, "Where's my tea, b*tch!"
Speaking of the cold, we saw Neil Diamond sing Sweet Caroline and it was so sticatto that it was hilarious. Poor guy - he's 76 and was legit shivering in the cold and all we could do was make fun. "I'd. Be. Inclined."
Ok. All this judgement and making fun - I'm such a b. Maybe my New Year's resolution should be that I will be nicer.
I'm on mountain time, so we celebrated an east coast New Years. We picked up some nice steaks for the grill, broiled some lobster tails, and made loaded potatoes. Then we finished up the last 3 of a half dozen cupcakes. I don't feel bad at all for not doing something out. I'm soaking up that last couple of months of having one kid that's a reliable sleeper with a bedtime of 7pm that's been sleeping in the last two weeks until 8am. Living my best life right now.
Happy 2018 ladies! We ate spaghetti and watched reruns of Daredevil on Netflix. And drank cranberry sparkling juice....the turn up was real oh, and spent most of the evening also making sure my 8 and 14 year old dogs didn't have heart attacks from fireworks!
