@sunshineandwhiskey real question, do we need it? My only hesitation is that we have a fair number of pinned posts, and every additional one from here on out means fewer "daily/weekly" threads on the main page. At some point we're adding birth announcements... and we've been trying to get that pregnancy/parenting resources thread pinned for months....
I guess my vote is that the current general ultrasound thread isn't too cluttered, and I'm not sure we need to separate them since we didn't designate the original one as a first tri ultrasound thread.
@doxiemoxie212 very true. Either way works for me. I know in my previous BMB we asked for things to be unpinned after awhile too. That way only the current ones are there that we wanted.

@sunshineandwhiskey if we can get things unpinned, I'm all for it. On my year on TTGP that didn't seem to be possible, though.... but would like if it were!
Yay!! I hope the a/s goes well for all of you this week!! So exciting!!

@sunshineandwhiskey@doxiemoxie212 I can’t remember which BMB I saw it on but they had a “secret” (in quotes because it wasn’t too hard to find) thread so the regular members could AW their anatomy scan without all the randoms/drive bys. I think our pinned u/s thread is pretty long and clogged up with one post wonders so I wouldn’t be opposed to a new thread but it would be nice to actually see the people’s who participate rather than just a bunch of randoms.

@marcus7676 they just called it something else. I think it was something about Beans lol. Nothing too random but nothing specific to ultrasounds in the title. I’m not sure if they mentioned it in the randoms or other places to get the word out but I found it with just a few minutes of lurking so anyone who lurks a bit and participates semi regularly would find it.

@dinodna3 that seems really late. My OB tries scheduling them early (18 weeks, but I’ll be 19) for two reasons: a) in case the baby doesn’t cooperate and you need to come back and TW b) in case something is wrong and the parents have to make a difficult decision.
So excited for everyone having their anatomy scans this week! Jan 25th for mine seems like light years away. On the other hand, once I hit 20 weeks, I feel like I'm going to start freaking out with how little time is left. Can't win on this time controlling thing.
I think a secret board aka beans is fun, but I'm good with whatever.
Had my US this morning. It turns out it was an "early" anatomy scan (I'm only 15+3), which the US tech said was pretty normal for twins. It took FOREVER...I was actively getting my ultrasound for more than an hour and a half. Like whoa. And since we don't want to know the sex, it was pretty anti-climactic. The appointment was super-extra fun because the heat wasn't working in that part of the hospital. Toward the end I was just laying there shivering on the table.
I was super impressed with my tech - she pointed out things like the kidneys. It all looked like the surface of Mars to me.
Just had the most stressful/annoying morning ever and the conclusion I have come to is that I need a new OB
I was supposed to have my anatomy scan today, granted a little early since I'm not 18 weeks until Thursday, but my doctor had switched practices so my appointments are off. Then I get a call this morning that the new office doesn't take my insurance, even though I gave them my information when I booked the appointment a month ago. Also come to find out that, even though my ob told me that this would be an anatomy scan, the new practice doesn't do them until at least 20 weeks because they do ultrasounds through a different office and they need to be referred out. After spending an hour crying on the phone with these people, I ended up cancelling the appointment and spent the rest of the morning looking for new doctors.
Also please don't judge me, but I made an appointment this afternoon at an ultrasound place to pay out of pocket and find out the damn gender! One of my friends went because she didn't want to wait until 20 weeks either and said they were really good. At this point, I don't even know when my next appointment is going to be, but at least I should know girl or boy by the end of the day.

As discussed, I have created our "secret" ultrasound/anatomy scan thread titled June Bugs.
@Amphibious22 so sorry! That is so frustrating. I hope you can find a new OB. and I totally would have made an appointment for an elective OOP ultrasound if I was expecting to have one today and then was told I'd have to wait two more weeks!

@Amphibious22 I too would have done the same. You are so hyped up for this moment...what a let down and poor communication on their end. Hope finding out brightens your day. I went to an elective place as well around 14 weeks just so my mom could have a peek at the baby; not for any other reason and they were great! Hope your experience today is wonderful!
I thought for sure that I'd have my anatomy scan scheduled when I had my appointment last Friday. (I'm 17 weeks) Nope, there's a special person that does the Level 2 anatomy scan schedules with the MFMs that come to our city on Wednesdays. I'm supposed to wait for a call from her to let me know when it's scheduled. Ugh. If I can't get in locally on a Wednesday I'll have to travel out of town to get it done. If I don't hear from her today I'm calling the office tomorrow.
Also, I'm up for the June Bug Thread (which I came across before reading this thread, so yes, regulars will find it and click on it). I don't actually post my ultrasounds, but I'll talk about them, and ooh and ahh over all of yours.

@Amphibious22 so frustrating! Good luck with finding a new OB! I’m glad you’re able to figure this out now too. And good for you for scheduling an elective Scan. You do you girl!

@amphibious22 there is nothing more frustrating than poor communication on an issue that was easily avoidable- sorry you're having to deal with that. Good luck finding a new doc that you love and no shame in an elective US! I've had one this time around already and had 2 with DD1. Enjoy your glimpse at the little bug and enjoy finding out what you're having!
I'm glad you guys don't think I'm nuts for scheduling an elective ultrasound! I'm really excited for it and hopefully it'll be a good experience. And as much as I liked my OB, it will be really nice to hopefully find an office with better communication. Good luck to all the other ladies with anatomy scans this week!!

anatomy scan went great today. everything measured and looked good..heart, brain, kidneys, 3 vessel cord. confirmed the anterior placenta. pointed out his direction so I know what I'm feeling.. head up, feet down, facing forwards. so even with the anterior placenta, what I'm feeling is his kicks. he's like his big bro and measuring alittle big, in the 70 something percentile. uuugh, I can't wait till may
