  • @heelsidehero glad you got a fancy medical
explanation hahah. I’m glad it’s nothing serious though.
  • @sandbar517 missed you around here! I haven’t been contributing a lot but I read every day and always sense when someone is missing haha.

I love the frequent ultrasounds. It makes everything feel real and that everything I’m going through has a reason.

This cold weather sucks and I’m cranky every day because i don’t want to go outside.

  • I swear I did this already...but I don't see my post lol. So here it goes:

How far along are you? When is your due date? What's the size of your LO?
21w3d, as long as a carrot, or a baseball hat. Or a least weasel (I also have no idea what that is). Due May 12th.
What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?
Back to work. Feeling pretty good! We booked our Babymoon for end of Jan which I'm excited about.
    Any upcoming appointments?
    Not until Jan. 19th
GTKY:  Let's warm it up. What is your favorite summer activity/thing to do?
Spending time by the lake or on a boat. I love the sunshine and water.

@lincbeesmom holy you have a busy month!! Good luck on the 8th! Keep us all posted!
  • @babys_2018 where is your babymoon? That's exciting!

@kpc914 so sorry you are still experiencing daily nausea :( my dizziness comes and goes, but hasn't been too bad yet. I have been trying to drink more water and get up more slowly when lying down.

@k5678 glad you are recovering from the flu. I'm sorry you got it over the holidays (and at all).

How far along are you? When is your due date? What's the size of your LO?
22 weeks 3 days, coconut or guinea pig. That seems so big :open_mouth:

What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?

I'm an emotional wreck so that's good. Poor husband.

    Any upcoming appointments?

    Glucose on 1/25.

GTKY: What is your favorite summer activity/thing to do?
Reading outside on my deck for every day things. Running on the beach when we make it to the shore.

  • @silverhope my emotions have also been ramped up lately! I'm glad I'm not alone. We will be heading to Spain for our Babymoon! :)
  • @babys_2018 gah that is beyond amazing!!!! I went with my mom a few years ago (Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Ronda, and Granada--if you are going to any of these and want suggestions, I journal all my trips [but again I went in like 2013 so might be dated]).

You are going to have the best time and the food is so great. Tapas is my favorite food in the world! What a great babymoon choice!

I have recently been having panic attacks on planes so a babymoon destination that requires a plane is out for us unfortunately  :(

  • How far along are you? When is your due date? What's the size of your LO?
    21 weeks + 6 days / May 10th

What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?
I realized a couple of days ago that the pains I have in my butt during the night (I wake up and it feels like I'm really sore in both cheeks) are probably minor sciatica. I had it last time too, but I don't remember getting it this early. I started doing exercises and sleeping with a pillow between my legs. It's super annoying, but seems to be helping.

    Any upcoming appointments?
Not until 1/23 -- having my glucose test then too. Soo not looking forward to it. My doctor only has an orange drink and I truly hate oranges/orange juice/etc. I just cannot throw up. I have a different doctor this time around, but I know I did mine around 24 weeks last time too.

GTKY:  Let's warm it up. What is your favorite summer activity/thing to do?
I can barely even remember summer after this never ending cold snap. But my fave is to go to the beach and read a bestseller type of book.

@silverhope that's awesome! I've been journaling our trips too but haven't yet been to Spain. I would love any tips/recommendation you have! We ordered the Lonely Planet book and I'm expecting it tomorrow.
I'm a bit nervous for the flight because I took a 3.5 hour flight over Christmas and kinda struggled. I'm planning on wearing more comfy clothes/shoes, having a small pillow and blanket and getting up to walk often.
Sorry to hear about your panic attacks :(

@thunderberry I totally agree about the sticker shock of baby items!! It's just like the wedding industry!! (A money making market!)
My hubby decided we are going big on this trip and because of zika everywhere it kinda made the most sense. I'm anxious about sitting down to budget out spending though!
  • @babys_2018 So we had 3 days on our own and then had an 8 day tour with this company by mom is obsessed with.
    • We used our extra time in Barcelona. On the first day we saw Casa Batillo and Palau Guell after our flight landed.
    • On the second day we went to Casa Mile/La Pedrera, Park Guell, and then took the bus turistic around to hit the highlights. We went to the Basilica Santa Maria del Mar and the Picasso Museum.
    • On our last day to ourselves we rode the turistic bus again (I think you get 48 hours for one price) to get us to the Barceloneta Beach. We got tapas at the Cafe de Sol on the beach and also went to Ice BARcelona (an ice bar by the beach). We took the bus turistic back and then met up with our tour group that night.
The remaining 8 days we were following the tour's schedule: link here for itinerary. This tour company tends to hit all the UNESCO world heritage sites, so I really like their itineraries. When my husband and I go on trips ourselves, I usually copy this tour company's itinerary for our schedule.

My favorites were all the unique architecture in Barcelona, Alhambra in Granada, and the Prado Museum and Royal Palace in Madrid.

You are going to have such a great time :)

  • @silverhope that info is amazing! Thank you!! I will be sitting down with hubby this weekend to do some planning and will definitely look more into detail in the link. (I love architecture and tapas so i cant wait!) Appreciate the help! :)
  • On another topic... How many of you are experiencing round ligament pain? How would you describe it?
    @bjkay22 I think you have?
  • @babys_2018 ugh yes it sucks. For me it’s very sharp and sudden. It’s usually in the evenings or when I’m laying down. It will hurt in various positions in groin area for anywhere from 2 minutes to 15. Usually it’s manageable unless I have to sneeze or cough and then it’s pretty much hell on earth.
  • @babys_2018 I haven't had it this pregnancy,  but I had it quite a bit with my first. To me it felt like sharp shooting pain right in my groin, only lasted 30 seconds or less, and got worse with transitions ie: sitting to standing, rolling over in bed
  • @babys_2018 looking forward to hearing about your trip!  Spain and Portugal is one of my dream trips.

  • I'm jealous of your Spain trip @babys_2018 ! I've only been to Europe once. My dad made it a tradition to take me and my siblings for our 21st birthday. My sister went to Italy, my brother went to London and Paris, and I got to go to Prague, Vienna, and Paris. It was an awesome experience. Looking back, I wish I would have been less of a bratty college student and enjoyed it more but you live and you learn.

I haven't had a ton of RLP. A few sharp sensations on the lower part of my tummy but nothing that I can complain about too often. I've had more of a stretching sensation where my stomach feels tight.

  • @lincbeesmom that's so cool that your dad took you to Europe on your 21st birthdays!!! I haven't been to Prague or Vienna but have heard great things. What did you like better?
I've only recently been travelling to Europe and so far Iceland and Italy are my favourites.
Glad your RLP isn't too bad. Getting excited for your appointment on Monday?
  • @babys_2018 I think I've been experiencing RLP. Is it that if I also feel it extending around the sides of my belly? I feel it as very sharp, going from the sides of my belly down to my groin, and sometimes it's suddenly there and gone from moving the wrong way but other times it seems to just show up out of nowhere and can stick around for a little bit before it fades. The other night it woke me up in the middle of the night and really freaked me out because it was so strong and lasted for probably a good 15 mins. And I've also experienced those super fun shooting pains going into my vagina that come out of nowhere and make me yelp.
  • @babys_2018 we spent most of our time in Prague so i guess I’d have to say that there was more to see. Its beautiful there!

I am excited for my appointment! It’s always fun to see the babies :)

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @thunderberry YES!! That totally sounds like RLP and how I would describe it. The location and duration seem similar to me. It's kind of a weird feeling hey? Sorry to hear it woke you up. I read that you want to bend into the pain to allow for muscle tension to release rather than away from it (I.e. stretching). I will be trying that next time as I typically want to stretch to relieve the pain which never seems to work lol.
I've heard about the vagina pains. Ouch!! Apparently they are pretty common for 3rd trimester so we will all have to be prepared haha.

@babys_2018 Italy has been my favorite in Europe too!  But I’ve only been there, Monaco, Nice (southern border of France) and Poland in Europe.

edit to add I was in Amsterdam and suburbs for about 12 hours too.
