@adirat I am hoping so hard for you! Just a question, you are doing a FET and crinone? I ask because a lot of people here use PIO, but my RE will often use crinone for fresh and frozen (not always, it depends on the individual), so I am always curious when I see other people using it, especially for FET
@AlohaKumu that gif is everything!!! So frigging adorable and I agree I hope that is @adirat embie as we speak!!
@adirat girl I have everything crossed for you. Will definitely be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers this week! When is your beta? Are you planning on testing before?
@KristoKekerooni Thanks a lot for sharing the spreadsheet update responsibilities!

@RVAmom315 I’ll be curious to hear how this new protocol
works for you! Fx it does the trick!
@Avrilmai YH sounds like me with the unexplained diagnosis!
I find it so incredibly frustrating, and the idea of choosing treatment when
you don’t know the problem drives me up the wall. I have no good suggestions
for how to help him deal with this, but I’ll be checking others folks responses
for tips!
@BusinessWife I’m hoping so hard that this cycle works for
you! Fx!
@madspunk Thank you! Can I ask what the prednisone does? I’ve
never seen that as part of a protocol before! How big were your follies getting
in previous cycles? How big does your RE want them to be?
@jrm_14 I forget, does your new insurance cover IF at all? I
hope the short turnaround isn’t too much of an issue.
@Aurora1973 So sorry things have been rough for you.
Hopefully all goes well with the HSG next week!
@beachbunnyxo123 Sorry about the experience with MIL! That
sounds stressful.
@adirat I’m so glad everything went smoothly this morning!
Fx for you!
AFM, had my baseline u/s for IUI #3 this morning. I had one
follie at 13mm though. The nurse said it was probably “leftover” from my last
cycle, and wasn’t big enough for them to need to test estradiol. She said it
would probably collapse and new follies would grow for this cycle. Has anyone
had this happen before? I had no idea this was a possibility! It distracted me
so much I forgot to ask what my AFC was.
Just a note on the crinone to everyone who’s planning on using it this time - for most people it is great and easy (ie me) and works well (you can’t test to check, but from the strong side effects I know it works for me). But if you’re one of the few who has a reaction to it, do go to your RE the same day you feel anything like a burning in your vag... one of the ladies who had success in Sep IVF thread waited a few days and spent more than 8 weeks recovering from it. (Though it hasn’t affected her PG at all, just made her very very sore for 2 months!) When I use the crinone I feel nothing, totally forget it’s in there (and it doesn’t leak at all - in fact TMI but you have to “fish” the old stuff out every few days)
Ok crinone Sermon over for today ;-)

@darkstar42 I had leftover cysts three times (although I guess 4 if you count after my IVF cycle), and they always tested my estradiol. Its a good thing they tested because twice they were functional cysts and I had to go on BC or wait a month for them to go away.
@kiwi2628 Argh! Do you remember how big the functional ones were? Now I'm kind of freaked out and unsure if I should call the clinic and push for them to test today. The nurse did not even say the word cyst. It pisses me off when people withhold information or are misleading because they don't want to freak me out. If the cyst is functional, what happens if I go forward with the cycle and take letrozole?
@kiwi2628 Yes, I am on crinone. My RE prefers to start with the suppositories and move to PIO only if you aren't absorbing them. (tw) I took crinone for my natural conception earlier this year and responded well (totally stopped spotting) so he said I should keep doing what we know works for my body. (end tw) There's also a nationwide PIO shortage apparently so I know some people are going to suppositories who may not normally. The circulating blood levels are different but there's no difference in live birth outcomes.
@beachbunnyxo123 Beta is 1/8; I'm going to test 1/7 but probably not any earlier.
@darkstar42 That is so frustrating! I agree with @rvamom315 -- call them and ask. You deserve answers. I really hope it's nothing.
@RVAmom315@adirat I just called and the clinic is now closed for the day. They don't do blood draws on the weekends. Not sure if this counts as an urgent issue I should try to talk to one of the doctors about or not. I can't find any good information (yet) in medical journals on what happens if you take letrozole with a cyst. Does the cyst grow? Does it suppress other follies from growing? I don't know if I should cancel this cycle or not.
@darkstar42 Ugh, that is even more frustrating! I don't know whether it matters and I couldn't find anything in PubMed that clearly applies to your situation... Personally I would leave a message for the doctor and see if he or she will call you back. It sucks to cancel a cycle but it would also suck to have something more go wrong
@darkstar42 I also say call and ask for BW. That’s the only way to know for sure. in the simplest of terms if it’s functional my RE said it could suck up all the FSH and limit the potential to grow for new follies... I don’t think it would do you any harm as such - but then again I’m not a doctor... so I still say, ask the doctor...

@adirat@emmasemm@RVAmom315 Thanks. I really appreciate the support and info. I will call the clinic as soon as they open in the morning. I could call and leave a message for the doctor tonight, but frankly I'm so extremely pissed off I would probably either yell at them or cry on the phone or both. I don't know if they'll be able to do b/w tomorrow or not, but hopefully someone can at least treat me like an intelligent adult and explain all the possibilities. I'm once again angry enough to consider switching to the other clinic.
@darkstar42 The prednisone is an anti-inflammatory in case there are any inflammation issues preventing pregnancy. The nurse said it may also help regulate hormones. I did some research and see that sometimes for PCOS patients it's prescribed because it can lower LH levels and androgens. My biggest follie usually gets to be about 18-19 and then we trigger. I know most REs want to see a follie bigger than 18 before they'll trigger. This time we'll let them go to 20-22 and then trigger. I hope you're able to get ahold of your doctor and get your B/W done tomorrow!
@beachbunnyxo123 I also ovulate on my own, and am on Femara.
Because H’s swimmers are so good, and I ovulate, they aren’t monitoring me. I
asked the nurse and she said I should be okay. I go back and forth between just
trusting the RE and that he knows more than me, and, THIS ISN’T WORKING. Andplusalso
I want to slap your MIL
@avrilmai I can imagine that the unexplained dx is so
frustrating. During our first month of testing I kept thinking, “I hope they
find something.” Aaannnddd they sure did.I don’t have advice on how to help talk to DH about the dx, but just
trust in the RE to find the right plan moving forward.
@aurora1978 Hugs girl. I can’t imagine hanging out with DSD’s
mom.
@adirat fx for you!! @ndz2018 great numbers! @Avrilmai I can sympathize with the unexplained frustration. It’s hard to believe the next thing will work if they can’t tell you why it’s not working in the first place. @darkstar42 call. Yell if you need to. You are your own best advocate! And yes, they should absolutely give you information!
Diagnosis (if you've been): Possible LPD, mild MFI, lots of “dunno”
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WFIVF
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): starting stims tomorrow. 225 gonal-f, 75 menopur. Ahhh. @emmasemm I know I’m late to the party this week, but can I join the spreadsheet, too?
How are things going?: see above “ahhh” excited to start this thing, scared it will hurt, scared it won’t work, the usual night before a big thing jitters, I guess
Any questions?: any last minute tips welcome!
GTKY: If you had to chose someone from TTGP to go grab a drink with, who would it be and why? I’ll cop out of this one and say all of you! What a group of strong, amazing people!
@Redpuma119 I’m terrified of multiple or high order multiples. My RE monitors on letrozole+IUI cycles because of the high risk of them with IUI.
@darkstar42. Ugggh, I’m sorry this is all happening this cycle. If you don’t get answers and don’t cancel it and you get a BFN, how would that impact you? Would it be possible for your PCP to draw labs on a Saturday? My new insurance does not to my knowledge cover any IF. It *****may****** cover some of the meds, though I doubt it.
@adirat So glad that your transfer went well & that your little guy was already hatching!
@emmasemm That spreadsheet Thanks for the crinone tip! Is Prometrium a brand of progesterone or a different type or ??? I will be doing prometrium suppositories post IUI.
@rallykat14 I’m willing your donor to start her period ASAP!!
@rallykat14 of course we don’t have to wait for your donor to get AF to add you - you are definitely now in! If and when you know any more just let us know!
@jrm_14 Prometrium is a brand of progesterone suppositories. They also work really well for many ladies. Just check which color ones you have as they are known to leak and if you see the red/pink leakage you might think you’re bleeding, but you’re not. Better to know before it might happen - and if you haven’t picked them up yet you can ask the pharmacy for a different color. Crinone is a gel that comes in an applicator tube a bit like a tampon with an applicator, kind of.
Hope we managed to capture everyone’s updates so far. It is tough and yet kind of awesome to have so many of us doing IVF and transfers together these next few months. I hope we can give each other strength through this - and have cause for plenty of great gifs too ;-)

AFM, I called the RE's office as soon as they opened this morning. It took 45 minutes before they actually turned their phones on and I could talk to someone. When I finally did, it took another 15 minutes to get them to agree to doing an estradiol test and to schedule it. I did get it done though, and I should get the results in a few hours. MH and I agreed that we'll cancel if the results are at all borderline. Thank you all so much for giving me critical information and support yesterday! I don't know w
Just got a call from the nurse since I got BW this morning. Progesterone is a 13 which is good for an unmedicated cycle. She told me to start my estrace today and take it twice a day until my period comes. Hoping it doesn’t make me a raging emotional B
@beachbunnyxo123 Hope everything goes well and you have no side effects!
Just heard back from the RE, and my estradiol is 26, so I'm good to go for this cycle. That's actually lower than a few months ago when I was first tested (it was 41 then), but still in the normal range. I feel so much better having this information! Guess I'll start the letrozole tonight and keep my fx that this is
@beachbunnyxo123 estrace gave me no symptoms at all, so FX for you!
AFM- baselines were today- AFC is 9, which is lower than it should be for my age, and exactly what it was last cycle, so that of course already has me discouraged, but its after 36 hours off BC and I am waiting 3 days to start stims so I have more time to pop up some more. Here's hoping.

@adirat aww!! I love that you could see it hatching!
@RVAmom315 I’ll be curious to hear how this new protocol works for you! Fx it does the trick!
@Avrilmai YH sounds like me with the unexplained diagnosis! I find it so incredibly frustrating, and the idea of choosing treatment when you don’t know the problem drives me up the wall. I have no good suggestions for how to help him deal with this, but I’ll be checking others folks responses for tips!
@BusinessWife I’m hoping so hard that this cycle works for you! Fx!
@madspunk Thank you! Can I ask what the prednisone does? I’ve never seen that as part of a protocol before! How big were your follies getting in previous cycles? How big does your RE want them to be?
@jrm_14 I forget, does your new insurance cover IF at all? I hope the short turnaround isn’t too much of an issue.
@Aurora1973 So sorry things have been rough for you. Hopefully all goes well with the HSG next week!
@beachbunnyxo123 Sorry about the experience with MIL! That sounds stressful.
@50Wife Thanks for sharing the nutrition info!
@ndz2018 What an amazing number! Congrats!
@adirat I’m so glad everything went smoothly this morning! Fx for you!
AFM, had my baseline u/s for IUI #3 this morning. I had one follie at 13mm though. The nurse said it was probably “leftover” from my last cycle, and wasn’t big enough for them to need to test estradiol. She said it would probably collapse and new follies would grow for this cycle. Has anyone had this happen before? I had no idea this was a possibility! It distracted me so much I forgot to ask what my AFC was.
Ok crinone Sermon over for today ;-)

@darkstar42 That is so frustrating! I agree with @rvamom315 -- call them and ask. You deserve answers. I really hope it's nothing.
in the simplest of terms if it’s functional my RE said it could suck up all the FSH and limit the potential to grow for new follies... I don’t think it would do you any harm as such - but then again I’m not a doctor... so I still say, ask the doctor...

@beachbunnyxo123 I also ovulate on my own, and am on Femara. Because H’s swimmers are so good, and I ovulate, they aren’t monitoring me. I asked the nurse and she said I should be okay. I go back and forth between just trusting the RE and that he knows more than me, and, THIS ISN’T WORKING. Andplusalso I want to slap your MIL
@Ndz2018 Um holy cow!!! Awesome count!!
@avrilmai I can imagine that the unexplained dx is so frustrating. During our first month of testing I kept thinking, “I hope they find something.” Aaannnddd they sure did. I don’t have advice on how to help talk to DH about the dx, but just trust in the RE to find the right plan moving forward.
@aurora1978 Hugs girl. I can’t imagine hanging out with DSD’s mom.
@kristokekerooni eek! It’s so close!
@adirat “hatch and latch!” Love that! Fingers crossed this is your sticky bean and rainbow!
And I love the spreadsheet! It is hard to see so many amazing women on there, but I hope January is the month for you all!
@rallykat14 C'mon donor! I'd love to see you added to that spreadsheet.
@ndz2018 great numbers!

MH and I agreed that we'll cancel if the results are at all borderline. Thank you all so much for giving me critical information and support yesterday! I don't know w

AFM- baselines were today- AFC is 9, which is lower than it should be for my age, and exactly what it was last cycle, so that of course already has me discouraged, but its after 36 hours off BC and I am waiting 3 days to start stims so I have more time to pop up some more. Here's hoping.
