1) 34 weeks!! So late because of Christmas but here we go!
2) How are you feeling? I would sell my soul for a good night's sleep 3) Any appointments this week? US today and 34 week appt/ US on Thursday.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? I have been taking Nexium daily for my heartburn. Forgot to take it on Sunday and I paid for it. Heartburn was horrible Christmas day. I won't forget that again. The tech told us at one of my US last week that he has lots of hair so I guess the HB/ hair correlation holds true for me. 5) GTKY: What was the best gift you got over the holidays? I am obsessed with the gallette cookies from Harry and David. I asked DH to get me a tin for my stocking and he got me 2. He is going for husband of the year lol
2) agreed-- what I would not give for a full night of sleep!!! I end up just giving up by 5:30 or 6am- even on weekends- because I cannot get comfortable or stay asleep. I am starting to feel very very impatient and hoping the next few weeks fly by (but then I'll have a baby and probably won't sleep much either!!)
3) appt on Thursday . I don't have any other ultrasound scheduled but I'd looooove to see this little guy again
4) I feel so rundown. I have a cold, my legs and hips are sore, I feel so sleepy and yet cannot get good rest, my heartburn is raging despite all the medicines I can possible take.... basically I'm just having a pity party for myself and feeling so impatient - I'm ready to have this little guy already and be done!! I need to find some patience because this cannot linger for 6 more weeks
5)my parents got me the nicest bed sheets- super warm and cozy. Love them
1) 34 weeks!! So late because of Christmas but here we go! 6 more weeks!!
2) How are you feeling? Tired, sore, and so much heartburn! 3) Any appointments this week? Nope
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Just anxious for my next ultrasound in a couple of weeks. 5) GTKY: What was the best gift you got over the holidays? DH got me a gift card to a spa in town that offers prenatal massages. He's sending me for a day of pampering!
1) 34 weeks!! So late because of Christmas but here we go!
2) How are you feeling? Meh. Tired, like everyone else. I’m starting to feel huge and heavy.
3) Any appointments this week? Nope. 1/3 is my next one.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? DH has his end of the quarter push this week so I’m going to be running solo with both kids until Monday. He’s going to miss his birthday (Friday) and New Years with us. It sucks but we knew about it when he took the job. I just hope I can survive until Monday then crash for the entire day!
5) GTKY: What was the best gift you got over the holidays? We are using the cash MIL gave us to buy a new stove and I’m sooo excited! Ours is lopsided and only two burners work. Can wait to start shopping for it next week!
1) 34 weeks!! So late because of Christmas but here we go! I'm personally very glad to have survived the holidays this year.
2) How are you feeling? Very very achy/sore/large/heavy. It's been a really stressful week preparing for Christmas Eve/Christmas Day. I've more or less been on my feet nonstop for the past 5 days and my hips are killing me. I basically took today sit on the couch, relax, nap etc. to recover from these past couple days. I completely stand by my sitting here binge watching Suits instead of doing anything productive. 3) Any appointments this week? I have an appointment tomorrow. Last week, I had a routine OB visit and the nurse took my blood pressure and said it was "through the roof" 150/100. The OB came in, re-took it and it was down to 138/90. I was wicked sick and on meds (Mucinex, antibiotics, Tylenol) and the doctor attributed it to that but wants me to come back this week just in case. They asked me to monitor my bp at home which I've been doing and it's a little higher than usual but not outside the range of 'normal' plus she said no protein etc. in my urine BUT they still ran pre-e bloodwork which also came back neg. so far.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Mostly ranting here cause even post-holiday I'm still grinchy... I'm hoping my appt. tomorrow won't make me a candidate for bedrest or additional monitoring. I can barely keep up with my son and how active he is at this point. Going on bedrest isn't really an option for me right now. My husband hasn't finished building the bed for my son so he has no 'big kid room' yet. Christmas rave first...the dog thing with my son actually worked out fine. We got a little bit of a Christmas miracle... My sister's nimrod bf brought the dog to his family's on xmas eve so no dogs there. We had a snow squall on xmas morning which prompted FIL to tell us not to bother coming...and then when we went to my mom's, my husband and I did bring DS down to the basement to see the puppy. My sister had to restrain the dog cause she charged at my son and tried to jump on him.. to which DS said "THATS NOT NICE! NO THANK YOU!" and opened the dog's crate for her to go inside. He was willing to pet her when she was in the crate and because he didn't get licked...no reaction! So I'm happy he didn't have a negative experience with the dog but it was honestly hilarious to watch him try to use his powers of toddler persuasion. Okay onto the Christmas rant... Christmas Eve with my Italian family was so chaotic and terrible. We got stuck in Football game traffic, ended up being an hour later AND I was bringing the chips/dip so people were mad... my cousins who all also have small kids (3 and 5) were sitting with the rest of the 20-30 somethings at a big table just dropping F-bombs all night at which point the 5 year old told her mother "we don't talk like that mommy" which was of course ridiculous when you're kid is parenting you...and the BEST part... my aunt accused my son of stealing a part of a toy she bought her 3 year old grandson and slipping it into our diaper bag...and then proceeded to CHECK our diaper bag like the goddamn TSA. On Christmas Day... my mom refused to let us leave when DS was melting down cause he's sick, his poor little bum is covered in diaper rash from the side effects of his antibiotics and he only napped for a half hour...because it is my sister's birthday and we couldn't miss dessert so we stayed an additional two hours and brought him a hysterical toddler. I think we will be re-evaluating Christmas next year cause I'm not doing this shit again with a 3 year old and a 10 month old. I really hope everyone else's Christmas left them a lot less sore and grinchy then mine did! 5) GTKY: What was the best gift you got over the holidays? My husband bought me Ed Sheeran tickets for September! He got really good seats and booked an overnight stay at a hotel so we can enjoy the evening. I also got some quirky t-shirts that I'm hoping will fit a few months postpartum.
1) 34 weeks!! So late because of Christmas but here we go!
I was pretty ok with the 34 weeks until we were packing up to come home from Christmas and everyone we said goodbye too said ‘next time we see you, you’ll have a baby!!!’ And now I’m kinda freaked out.
2) How are you feeling?
Oh god the heartburn is killing me!!!
3) Any appointments this week?
34 week appt on Thursday.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Rave- we got 5 boxes of 0-6mn hand me downs from my brother and my sister. One good thing about being the last sibling to have a kid and having two nieces, we will never have to buy clothes.
5) GTKY: What was the best gift you got over the holidays? The hand me downs! We didn’t do gifts this year so to go home with a trunk full of baby clothes was great.
@chucksmom15 my heartburn has been extreme too and the ultrasound a couple weeks ago showed quite the Mohawk. And as the weeks progress the heartburn’s getting worse. So I think the hair correlation thing may actually be true in my case too haha.
I've had miserable heart burn for months- to the point throwing up bile and acid and crying from the pain of the acid reflux.
But recently I changed up the medicines I'm taking-- I now take a ranitidine pill (generic Zantac) every 12 hours religiously - usually at time of waking up and again at dinner. Then I take the maalox liquid only as needed if things still get bad! After a couple days on this system I've barely needed the maalox and I've felt better than I have in MONTHS! Both maalox and Zantac are "b" classification for pregnancy so they are regarded as safe and approved by the doctor and pharmacist. I got a pack of 130 generic ranitidine tablets at Walmart for 8 bucks.
of course always ask your own doctor or pharmacist first, but I wanted to share this with everyone because no one should suffer!!
2) How are you feeling? If I could stop with the two hour insomnia period every night that would be great especially since DD has been having a rough week of sleeping as well. Also I don't dare forget to take my zantac or I just about puke from the heartburn
3) Any appointments this week? I have one later this morning with the pediatric cardiologist again since I came back to Hawaii they just want to go over everything again. I know it's better to be safe and have the second opinion but I don't like having special appointments since I always seem to get varying levels of bad news.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? I had my job orientation the other day and when someone asked when I was due I told her beginning of February she then said oh I thought it was closer! I'm not even that big but it sure did make me feel ginormous... 5) GTKY: What was the best gift you got over the holidays? I didn't get anything but I loved seeing DD open gifts with such determination and having fun pulling gifts out of boxes! @Starynightsky24 can anyone really blame you for not wanting to retype everything though!
Had my 34 week appt today and my blood pressure was through the roof. It went down over the course of the appt but now I have to monitor it every other day for a week and it’s freaking me out a bit.
@pandappanderson I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry too much. Hopefully it was just a bad day and nothing more!
I saw the specialist today and found out baby will be in the NICU for 4-5 days. I'm so stressed about it and not knowing what to expect as far as what a NICU stay is like is freaking me out. I'm hoping at the L&D tour in a couple of weeks some of my questions will get answered.
Thanks for the thoughts everyone. I’m hoping it was just a random blip but now I’m worried that I’ll get stressed out every time I have to go to the pharmacy to check my BP that it won’t give accurate results hahah. I’ll probably have to sit there for 10 minutes to calm myself before using the machine.
1) 34 weeks!! So late because of Christmas but here we go! Merry belated Xmas and happy holidays to all of you.
2) How are you feeling? Good bc I’m taking it easy. I told myself I was going to work this week... but instead I finally did the nursery. It feels so productive and relieving. I’ve slept great 2 nights in a row. It’s a Christmas miracle!
also, heartburn sucks.
3) Any appointments this week? Just had one today! I feel lucky they’ve been quick and boring. Sorry for those that are dealing with blood pressure and nicu concerns. Hope it works out ok.
4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Is anyone else just in complete denial and disbelief that we’re having some babies in a month or so? Wowzers.
5) GTKY: What was the best gift you got over the holidays? I’m very grateful for many lovely things. A cool one was my hydroponic Aerogarden so now I can grow lettuce in my kitchen in winter.
@chucksmom15 the right side of the heart is coming up larger than the left on the echo's he's had which can cause the aorta to get constricted after birth once the arch that allows blood to bypass the lungs while in utero closes. I haven't done the tour yet but it's scheduled for the 8th. I'm just an emotional mess and didn't really prepare myself for this appointment because the first peds cardiologist and the mfm doc I saw both said they weren't too concerned and to just have baby checked at a month old.

Hopefully it's just a precaution. I can't blame you for being an emotional mess. I would be too. If they don't say anything on the tour I would definitely ask about the NICU.
@gymmonkey95 I'd definitely be an emotional mess too if it were me! It's hard not to be nervous and/or emotional! Hopefully everything will turn out okay and the NICU stay is just precautionary.
Thanks ladies! I've delivered at the hospital before and the person that does the tour is super nice so I'm going to see if she wouldn't mind showing me the NICU at the end of the tour.

Tired, sore, and so much heartburn!

Nope
Just anxious for my next ultrasound in a couple of weeks.
5) GTKY: What was the best gift you got over the holidays?
DH got me a gift card to a spa in town that offers prenatal massages. He's sending me for a day of pampering!

I have been hoarding a gift card DH gave me for a prenatal massage @gingermama26. I want to use it when I really need it lol.
A new stove is exciting @karcerplus3!! I geek out on kitchen stuff.
3. NST this morning was good. Growth US tomorrow, OBGYN and NST Thursday.
4. This overly nice lady at target today said I looked tiny...clearly she was smoking crack but I’ll take it!
5. SO got me a MK watch and Calvin Klein perfume. We don’t do gifts with extended family/friends.
I'm personally very glad to have survived the holidays this year.

meh. Heartburn (like everyone else apparently lol) and so many BH lately. I woke this morning crazy dehydrated too
