I have my monthly appt today after work. It's with a newer that Dr I haven't seen yet...hopefully I like him. (You kinda see all drs in the practice here).
I have a repeat ultrasound this Friday. Apparently they missed some pictures of his heart during the AS. My OB doesn't seemed concerned about it, and I'm looking forward to seeing baby boy again
No real appointment but I do have to drop in to get my blood drawn for the glucose test. I’ve got the drink here at home, I’ll just need to show up at the office a little less than hour after I finish it. Hoping to figure out a time I can go without having to bring both kids!
I have a normal check in on Thurs. I hate maintenance appts, they feel like a waste of time. Just show up, pee in something, be asked if I have questions, then go back to work.
Haha @ngolimento MH is so annoyed that I have to drive an hour for a 15 minute check in appt... I haven't told him that as of my last appt they're moving me into the third tri every-two-weeks appt schedule

Tomorrow - OB visit. Not with my normal doc, which isn’t a big deal, except I think we will discuss last week’s AS. Good luck to all the others with appointments (and glucose tests!)
My visit went well. Heart rate 148. Anyone else's baby's HR go down at every appt? I forgot to ask. I know it's fine as long as its above 120, it's just lower every time I go. Saw a new dr. He was young, but nice. They gave me a lab order for blood work and another glucose test (yayyy...I had to do a baseline one in the beginning) to have done before the next appt. And my next appt I have to get the tdap shot, even though I had one less than a year ago lol
@kmalls jealous they gave you the drink ahead of time!! They gave me the hours there is someone there to draw and i'm going Friday. DD will be in tow but she should be fine for a hour while we drink it and wait.
@ekendall09 I had to beg, ha! The nurse wouldn’t budge and said I had to be in the office the entire hour, but I talked to Strehle after that and she just went and got me the drink. I ain’t got time to sit around! I’ll have to go tomorrow with DS but at least it’ll be quick.
OMG. My midwife called today and said I have to go back AGAIN to get the rest of the images for my anatomy scan. This will be the third time. I went last week again because they needed more views of the heart. She called today to say that they still need 2 more views of the heart they didn’t get. Could they not have just kept me there longer to get those 2 images?

@vintageandrea90 That’s ridiculous. I have to pay $30 oop everytime I have an U/S. I would want to know why they didn’t get all the pictures they needed this last time and why they didn’t tell you they couldn’t see everything they needed to. Is there something they are concerned about?
@psuxray07 the decrease in heart rate is totally normal and expected!
@psuxray07 This! As the baby grows, the blood has more length in vessels to travel before returning to the heart, thus a decrease in bpm. It's all good!
@vintageandrea90 - I would be irritated too! At my scan last week, the tech left the room and went to the ‘control room’ to double check that she had all the pictures they wanted. I would ask them this time to double check before letting you leave.
@kmalls@kbamomma33 thanks ladies! I just remember DS's was always high and I didn't remember it going down. This baby girl's heart rate is way lower and drops, maybe that's why it stood out to me. My 2 prove the male or female by heart rate theory wrong haha
She did double check and she didn’t say anything! I’m in Canada so it doesn’t cost me anything so it’s not a big deal that way but I don’t live close to the hospital. My midwife would have told me if there was something in the report that was concerning...she just said they didn’t get 2 of the images.

I have a second ultrasound Friday for another anatomy scan because they couldn’t get measurements of the head/face..... typically I would be super happy to see baby again but our insurance won’t cover it since we haven’t met the deductible yet (just changed insurance plans due to work changing) and it’s going to cost $250.00 a second time
@babyclarke429 I'm not sure if it can work this way where you're going, but where I worked before, when people had to come back for additional imaging for reasons not in their control, the facility would put it through as a no charge. I mean, are they just going to go for the measurements they couldn't get? They shouldn't be able to charge you for a full scan again.
Good point they shouldn’t charge the full scan I will ask about that.. they only need head/face measurements so not the full anatomy scan. thank you @psuxray07
My appt today went well. OB says I am measuring exactly where I should be, and I am back on track for weight gain! Yay!
The boo part of the appt is that they told me they were going to turn me into a pin cushion at my 28 week appt. They are going to do my glucose draw, give me the TDAP vaccine, and the RH shot. Blaaaaah.
@ngolimento that’s nice they’ll do vaccines at your OBs office though! I always have to go to the MinuteClinic at CVS and inevitably they screw up the coding and I have to battle insurance to pay for it. Ugh.
AFM: just got back from the glucose test. I feel like it’ll be a miracle if I pass as my diet has been about 97% chocolate chip cookies for the past week
@kmalls do you know the blood draw hours for the office today? I was supposed to go tomorrow but something came up so I’m trying to just fit it in this afternoon after Disney on Ice.
@ekendall09 the phlebotomist isn’t there for some reason, but you can go to the OB office and they will print you out an order sheet and you can get the blood draw downstairs at the hospital lab. It was really easy to do.
ETA: you just need to get to the office before it closes at 5 PM for the order sheet. The hospital lab hours are I think until 7 PM.
Had OB visit this morning. Not my normal doc but he was pleasant enough. Scheduled for AS in 2 weeks. Last AS estimated girl was 25th percentile for (twin) weight and boy was 43rd. Doc said it’s really too early to worry as the difference between the two was just over an ounce. The AS didn’t show enlarged kidneys on girl, so that was good. Glocose test has been ordered, so next week I’ll probably go in for it.
Just got back from my appointment. I'm 25w5d. Baby is measuring in the 6th percentile. He was measuring in the 8th percentile 6 weeks ago at my AS, so since he's not doing any better my doctor is referring me to an MFM. Hopefully he can get us in within a couple of weeks so we can get some reassurance. FX he's just a small baby!
Appointment went well today but nothing too exciting. Dr. measured my bump for the first time today and said I am measuring 2 weeks ahead. She also said I have gained 14lbs so far which she didn’t seem concerned about. Got to hear the heartbeat again which is always fun. Otherwise I was given my Glucose drink to bring next appointment so I can refrigerate it at home and drink it as soon as I walk into the office. I also was given a bunch of info about the hospital and setting up classes and a tour. Fun stuff! lol
@kmc8217 Thinking of you and hope you can get in to see the MFM soon! Was there anything that showed up on the A/S that concerned the Dr or is it just the overall size of the baby?
@JJMNO1616 The umbilical is inserted to the side of the placenta instead of the middle, which can cause him to receive less nutrients. That and the small size caused them to decide to do ultrasounds every 4weeks. I think I'm being referred to the specialist since he seems to be "worse" than before.
Had regular OB appointment today. Baby boy is measuring 3 weeks ahead! Yikes!! My OB doesn't seem concerned. My girls were always measuring 1-2 weeks ahead but never 3!! I'm a little concerned though. I'm just nervous I have GD. Did my test today but won't get the results till Monday. Crossing my fingers I passed and I'm just growing a big baby.
