  This would have been perfect in the weekly question's thread. 
  
  However, they might be doing a A1C which can give a better idea of how your blood sugars are over the last several months. Those numbers can help them decided when to do the actual Glucose Tolerance Test.

  If someone here tells you that yes, it's too early, are you going to take her word for it over your doctor?? If you doubt your doctor maybe you should consider switching before you get much further along in your pregnancy.

  @Blumling02   Per ACOG guidelines early diabetic screening is indicated if you have a history of gestational diabetes, increased risk for GDM (for example if you mother or sister have a history of GDM or DM before the age of 50). Or if you have a BMI greater than 30, although some practices use a BMI of greater than 35. Just ask the next time you go in what triggered you for an early screening and I am sure they will be happy to review.
