We went back to the dr yesterday and they said baby had a 1 in 89 chance of having Edwards syndrome. We are currently waiting to do the other testing. Anyone else been thru this?
Not the same situation but I’m waiting on cfDNA test results after my anatomy scan showed a strong marker for Down Syndrome, which is obviously not as serious a condition as T18. I’m sorry you’re going through this stress and hope you get some more definitive answers soon. For now just keep focusing on the 88/89 chance that you’re in the clear, since worrying won’t help you or baby.
No experience @jaymeenicole13 . But i'll be sending you lots of positive vibes. I hope someone here had been through it and can connect with you. Like pp stated for now, just keep gooing with the 88/89 chance baby doesnt have edwards
@jaymeenicole13 I'm really sorry to hear this. I don't have a happy outcome to share, but with my first pregnancy we had a 1 in 5 chance of T18 from the initial screening so I know what it feels like to get that news. We went through all the testing so let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer them.
So sorry you're going through this. No experience with this, exactly, but do know waiting for testing is the worst! I'll be thinking of you and your family.
Not totally the same but we did find a soft marker for T13, 18, and 21 at our anatomy scan. Raises the risk of those to 1 in 150. Had blood taken for the Materni21 test and are waiting for results. Again, not totally the same but I feel like I can relate to the waiting game. It's painful and something I can't get off of my mind. I'm sending all the happy thoughts I can your way. I hope both of our babies are a-ok.
@thedawkterswife I hope they get the results back to you soon! I know from personal experience that it’s basically impossible, but try to put the possibilities out of your mind as much as possible until then. Fingers crossed (and chances are) everything comes back fine.
I had something similar- our girl is high risk for trisomy x- or triple x- unfortunately- we cannot find out for sure until she is born. So until then, we wait with a 27% chance of her having it. Nothing super serious, some developmental delays. The waiting is hard- but just keep with the hope that your baby is ok. Good luck and keep us updated!
Re: Abnormal Quad Screen
Hope the same for you, OP. I’m sorry you’re going through this.
