I have another cervix check tomorrow. If that one looks good, I go back to monthly appointments. Also hoping they'll give me the clear to work out again...if things look good.
I had a standard ob appointment today. I love quick appts! My bp was slightly elevated but not in the high range yet. I have a mfm appt and ob appt in January.
Busy week using up flex spending dollars! Ophthalmologist for my dacryostenosis today, regular check up on Friday for measurements and Doppler then eye exams and ordering new glasses for dd and myself on Friday
Glucose test and regular monthly appt for me today. BP was a little higher than my usual, not sure if the orange drink had anything to do with it. At my last appt a month ago the NP told me I was slightly under the amount of weight she thought I should have gained by then, so she encouraged me to add more protein to my diet... I kind of did but really have been eating pretty much the same for fear of packing it all on in 3rd tri... then this morning was um HELLO 8lbs in 4 weeks, where the F did you come from?!
We have AS number 2 on Thursday. Each baby had a potential issue to monitor on the first AS (OB isn’t concerned, but being watchful). Not sure if my being AMA is also a factor.
@g_amoss Good luck on the AS! I'd be anxious having two babies to worry about. FX for you tomorrow.
Had my appointment yesterday. Cervix has stayed steady around 3cm, so I am officially off of restrictions. Yay!!!! Time to start exercising and staying away from this holiday junk. Ugh!
I have an ultrasound tomorrrow to get the rest of the photos from my anatomy scan that they couldn’t get. Apparently they still need a few views of the heart, and photos of the nose and mouth. I’m happy I get to see him again as I haven’t in 6 weeks.

I had my regular checkup today. All went well and dd2 (who is sick) nearly knocked over their damn tree. Luckily i still have reflexes like a cat or i would have been mortified.
Next appts are in a month and involve the glucose test + 2nd HIV screen which NJ requires, my follow up u/s to see if the placenta has moved and to check on baby's growth bc I'm at risk for pre-e again and then a normal 28w checkup. January will be busy.
I guess I had my appointments mixed up, the glucose test isn't until next month. Everything looked fine but little girl didn't like it when we poked around to listen to her heart, she gave us a good kick.
Update on ophthalmologist- I now have a standing order for augmentin and erythromycin ointment so if my eye gets infected again (it’s happened 5 times since July) I don’t have to drive 80 miles to see him, I can just call his nurse and he’ll send it to the pharmacy. I follow up with ent next month to rule out nasal polyps. Provided my nose is clear I will have a stent put in my tear duct during maternity leave. I’m so excited. My eye has been watering nonstop for 18 months! The end is in sight!!!
@vintageandrea90 I hope your U/S goes well today! @g_amoss I hope your A/S goes well today and you are able to get some more insight on your babies. @hedgepig How did your tour of the facility go? I bet that made everything seem a little more real. @riversdoctor Glad all went well with your ophthalmologist and the end is in sight! That sounds incredibly frustrating to be dealing with a watering eye for that long. What a relief too to have standing orders if an infection occurs again.
Just had a check-up with my OB today. Baby's heart sounded good and seems to be doing well. I'll go back at 28-weeks for my glucose test (boo) and they'll discuss what we want for our birth plan. Thankfully I'm going to a class about medications and interventions a few days prior to gain some more insight and solidify some of the birth plan.
AS today was pretty quick. Little girl’s kidneys were in normal range. Tech couldn’t get the picture of boy’s heart to see echogenic focus, but I got the impression it’s really not concerning to them. Started with both head down, by the end girl was transverse, and boy had been breach then moved to transverse. Tech laughed at how busy they are. They were each +\- an ounce of 1.5 pounds. Oh - tech pointed out boy has hair!
I have my routine 24w appointment tomorrow. It's a bit late, but I have to meet all the doctors in my new practice and I have off and need to meet the one doctor whose evening hours don't match up to my schedule. My next appointment should match up with 28w, I hope! They're not strict as long as I'm seen monthly until every 2 week appointments start. DD is excited to come hear the heartbeat!
@dan0081@g_amoss My appts went well, thanks ladies! The hospital tour was informative, and yes, made everything feel much more real (especially for MH)! I was relieved that my hospital already does so much of what I would want... delayed cord clamping, skin to skin, etc. I'm still a little worried about being so far from the hospital, but am trying not to worry... I figure I'll discuss it more with my midwives as we get closer.

24 week check was mostly good but I’m being tested for ICP due since I mentioned feeling “phantom gallbladder” pains in my upper chest as well as itching in my legs. I was worried about verifose veins. She’s pretty confident it’s just dry skin from winter, but drew the labs to be safe. From what I’m reading many obs don’t even know to draw bile levels with itching. I’m so glad she’s on top of this! Now how do I avoid doctor google until the results come in?!?
@riversdoctor I had some nasty itching back around 18ish weeks? They ordered the blood work for me and all turned out to be dry skin! Sending good thoughts that it's just the same for you!
@g_amoss thank you! DD loved it! They let her put on the gel and hold the doppler! I love my OB office! They are new to me, so I was worried as I hate change, but they are fabulous!
I'm measuring a bit over 26 weeks, which was the only "issue." Doc said she thinks I'm just growing a bigger baby again, which always shocks them because I'm petite and still not really showing?

Thanks! Lab results came through, I’m getting mixed messages online. My bile acids were at 10, and from what I’ve read either 10 or greater than 10 are the cutoff for normal. I’m preparing emotionally to transition into a high risk pregnancy. Grieving a bit at the increased risk. I’m hoping she repeats the labs for me if they don’t consider it diagnostically significant. I know other moms on here are dealing with much more serious diagnoses for babies and I’m trying to keep perspective.
From what ive read best case scenario they do extra imaging and fetal monitoring later in pregnancy. I don’t see an OB currently so I’m thinking I’ll be referred on to the MFM from Rochester Mayo Clinic next (my healthcare is through the mayo system, since it’s so close the Rochester docs rotate through the clinic an hour from me.). If I have to deliver in Rochester i know I will have lots of support nearby, and places to stay for free if I have a NICU premie.
@sparklingdiamond - lots of prayers for you all this week! Hope it worked out for your brother to spend time with you (I might have made that up?). Also hope flights were good!

@hedgepig - hope all was good at tour yesterday and with midwife today.
@riversdoctor - nice you won’t have to make the trip anymore and that there is a solution on the horizon!
@dan0081 - glad you had a good OB visit today.
