Re: DD Check In 2nd Week of June (10th-16th) 12/21 Edition
2. What's the next big pregnancy milestone you are looking forward to? Not sure if this is a pg milestone but I can't wait until a date is set for a shower. I don't want to fly in the 3rd tri so my hometown shower will have to be in Feb some time.
3. How is your partner feeling right now? Is he/she in the holiday spirit? He's not really in the holiday spirit, but he's not big on holidays, he's an only child and the only grandchild on his mom's side so he didn't grow up surrounded by kids on Christmas. So hopefully that changes once LO gets here. Otherwise he's fine.
4. If employed, have you told your employer about the pregnancy yet? What are you plans for maternity leave? Yes, I told my employer at 10 weeks (before I told the world), I was skipping out on conferences so I needed to use the pg card. Ideally, I wouldn't come back to this job at all. I'd take 6 months off (with the money saved) and start a new job later. That could change, a lot depends on our savings and credit for the next few months.
TTC: 08/2017 EDD: 6/11/2018 FTM
I feel like I am finally coming out of the first trimester trenches. Finally starting to be able to eat again and not feeling constantly nauseous/puking. I still have my moments, especially in the evenings. But overall, I think I am turning the corner. I’ve been feeling baby for about a week and a half now. It’s becoming stronger and more consistent in the last couple of days. But it still catches me off guard since it’s so early. So sometimes that can be a bit weird.
2. What's the next big pregnancy milestone you are looking forward to?
I don’t know if this counts as a pregnancy milestone; but we are going to be announcing the sex to family and friends over Christmas. So that’s exciting!
3. How is your partner feeling right now? Is he/she in the holiday spirit?
DH is getting more and more excited. He keeps commenting on my bump. And last night he went on and on about how excited he was to be having a girl. On the holiday spirit front, he’s not so much into it. There is a lot of family dynamics that make him cranky. And I get stressed with prep and he doesn’t like to see that. I think he will be more into it once we are in it and it seems happening. He’s not in the spirit leading up to it though, no.
4. If employed, have you told your employer about the pregnancy yet? What are you plans for maternity leave?
SAHM this time. So none of this applies to me this time around.
2. I'm looking forward to having movement that I can definitely say is movement. Right now I'm fairly sure but still wondering if maybe I'm just feeling gas or something. I'm also looking forward to the anatomy scan both so I know everything is OK with baby and also so I finally know what sex baby is. It'll be nice to be able to say "she is kicking" or "he hit a growth spurt" instead of the "he, or she, did xyz" thing.
3. My husband has been grumpy. He also does this thing when he gets stressed out where he kinda shuts down and just wants to play video games 24/7. It's really causing tension with us because that leaves everything for me to do. I'm the person caring for our son 90% of the time and I'm pregnant. I could really use a little help getting everything done and I get so angry when I'm working as hard as I can and he's sitting on the couch playing a stupid game.
4. I'm a SAHM.

Baby #2 due June 12, 2018
2. I’m super nervous about my appointment tomorrow. I guess that’s my next milestone. I don’t have any real reasons to worry but can’t kick my fears of something going wrong. We already found out we are having a boy!
3. Husband is excited about a baby boy but cautiously optimistic like me. We are excited about celebrating the holidays with our foster girls. It’s so fun to experience it all through their eyes.
4. I have not told work yet and am super nervous. I think I will be sharing the news mid January. No one has any idea. I think most people think I couldn’t ever get pregnant (which I thought too lol). It will definitely be a surprise. I did find out one of my coworkers is pregnant about 6 weeks behind me. I’m a little worried about how this is going to affect our small office! We are both managing multiple projects.
@NamelessAria sorry to hear about your husband, that's hard. Hope he feels better and starts to help out. Have you considered hiring help?
TTC: 08/2017 EDD: 6/11/2018 FTM
@namelessaria I'm sorry things aren't going well right now. Everything's so hard as it is already, you deserve support!
1. How are you feeling? Any symptoms? My pregnancy journal asked "Physically, what's a bit weird right now is _______________________" I'm feeling like everything's getting pretty squished in there. I had some gas bubbles last night that were above my belly button, which is way higher than they usually are haha. I imagine my guts are just trying to find space wherever they can.
2. What's the next big pregnancy milestone you are looking forward to? I haven't felt any movement yet, so definitely looking forward to that milestone.
3. How is your partner feeling right now? Is he/she in the holiday spirit? He's his normal self. We talk about the baby more now. It still almost doesn't seem real, and when we talk about it it's usually in some sort of lighthearted manner. Things are just surreal right now.
4. If employed, have you told your employer about the pregnancy yet? What are you plans for maternity leave? My supervisor has known since pretty early on. I need to meet with someone in personnel to figure out maternity leave stuff. I think I get 6 weeks paid, but I can take up to a year off without risk of losing my job. I'd like to take 6 months off, and then maybe come back part time for a month if it's possible.

Starting to feel better. I’ve been having lots of headaches lately, I think I need more water.
2. What's the next big pregnancy milestone you are looking forward to?
On Wednesday we go for a 16 week ultrasound to measure municipal cervix (with DD I wasn’t dilated are 33 weeks, so they’re monitoring to do determine if I need progesterone). I’ll be 16w3d and am hoping by some chance they’ll be able to see baby’s sex. Otherwise we go Jan 15 for anatomy scan.
3. How is your partner feeling right now? Is he/she in the holiday spirit?
A little run down and tired from work. He’s definitely in the christmas spirit.
4. If employed, have you told your employer about the pregnancy yet? What are you plans for maternity leave?
Im self employed and work from home. I told my work partner Im pregnant. I’m really sad to be missing out on Mat Leave, especially now that moms have the option to go to 18 months (Canada) but I just can’t do it I’ll lose too many clients. I’ll take the month of June off, luckily summer is a bit slower, and a tad least I’ll be home with baby anyway.

2. I can't wait to find out sex, so I can refer to baby as their name and not just baby or it. I also can't wait to feel regular movements
3. He's not really a holiday person, but we got the kids gifts yesterday and he's pretty excited about that.
4. I'm not employed this time around
I feel really good right now. I had a spinal fusion from T4-L3/4 for scoliosis as a teen. I had wicked back pain during my first pregnancy but didn't start until 22 weeks. Its already starting now but not too bad. Just makes me worry. Still peeing all the darn time.
2. What's the next big pregnancy milestone you are looking forward to?
Hmm, the baby? Haha.
3. How is your partner feeling right now? Is he/she in the holiday spirit?
We just got to Hawaii for a big trip with family. It doesn't feel very christmas-y here but before that he was in the spirit. He is normally a grinch and hates decorations, music, presents but since we had our daughter (2 yo) he is much more into everything. He is so supportive about the pregnancy all the time and I feel very lucky.
4. If employed, have you told your employer about the pregnancy yet? What are you plans for maternity leave?
I told my boss at 10 weeks but I am also quitting my job around 32 weeks. I am due right when we are supposed to move so hopefully our place is ready. I also wont have much time off before jumping into a dental residency. I am due 7 weeks before I start. I work PT currently and this residency will be FT plus tons of studying. I am super nervous about the change in work/school responsibilities, about this baby coming late, about moving and especially how our daughter will handle all of this. What I am looking forward to is not working after 32 weeks bc being a dentist is really hard on my back!

1. How are you feeling? Any symptoms? My pregnancy journal asked "Physically, what's a bit weird right now is _______________________"
I’ve been feeling pretty good. A couple migraines, here and there, but that is about it. I feel like im getting my energy back, still not much appetite but can pretty much eat everything (no food aversions). Yesterday, we lounged all day and I took a nice nap. When I woke up from my nap, I noticed my belly was cold to the touch. This never happened with my first pregnancy so I googled and it appears to be common. Anyone else had this happen? Other than that, not much new going on here.
2. What's the next big pregnancy milestone you are looking forward to?
I am looking forward to a growing belly, I want to actually look pregnant instead of just chubby. Most of all, I am looking forward to constant baby movement. Last week, I thought I felt baby move (quickening) but didn’t at all this weekend.
3. How is your partner feeling right now? Is he/she in the holiday spirit?
My husband is excited, sometimes a bit nervous. I think he worries of having two kids in daycare (so expensive!) but overall happy. He was very helpful this past weekend with holiday cooking and I would say was definitely in the holiday spirit.
4. If employed, have you told your employer about the pregnancy yet? What are you plans for maternity leave?
I told my boss last week at 15 weeks (the rest of my coworkers a day after) and everyone seemed excited. I have only been at this company since July of this year so I was nervous to tell everyone. I am not exactly sure what my plans for maternity leave are yet, I want to take at least 8 weeks off but don’t know if I can take any more than that (I don’t want to leave my colleagues for too long since they will have to cover my areas).
Anyways...
1. How are you feeling? Any symptoms?
Swollen. Other than that not bad.
2. What's the next big pregnancy milestone you are looking forward to?
Delivery... Lol. We found out we're having a girl early, so I feel like all that's "really" left is for baby to be here.
3. How is your partner feeling right now? Is he/she in the holiday spirit?
No... He's a grouch. Not just during the holiday.
4. If employed, have you told your employer about the pregnancy yet? What are you plans for maternity leave?
Yes, too many women on the same cycle, they knew. We will have a scheduled c-section, so I haven't decided on exact maternity leave dates yet. I have had high blood pressure, and my doctor tends to induce at 37 weeks if it stays that way. In that case, we'll have a late May baby, but if not, it'll be the first week of June. I work in an office where I'm mainly on a computer all day, so it's not strenuous on me.
DH: 29 years old.
Me: 25 years old.
DS: born 12/30/14
Baby #2 due 6/8/18
2. What's the next big pregnancy milestone you are looking forward to? Actually, jusst going to the doctor this Friday. I've had 2 instances of spotting with bowel movements. Office didn't seem too concerned when I called, but I'll feel better after I am seen.
Other than that, Jan 25th is our anatomy scan.
3. How is your partner feeling right now? Is he/she in the holiday spirit? He's sick with the flu. Poor guy has been down for a week and a half. He completely missed Christmas. I'm just glad he wasn't hospitalized and that I didn't get it.
4. If employed, have you told your employer about the pregnancy yet? What are you plans for maternity leave? Yes, right around 14 weeks we told them. The news is making its way around now. Everyone seems excited. We don't have paid maternity leave where I work, but I do have 6 weeks of vacation banked and will have close to 8 weeks by the time I'm due. I will most likely take the full FMLA 12 weeks allowed and just choose to be paid out 3 days per week instead of 5.
