  • Star Wars. Who cares? Not I. Never seen any of them.
I watched the originals when I was younger but I've only seen one of the new ones and could care less now.  Right there with you.
  • Star Wars. Who cares? Not I. Never seen any of them.
I’ve only seen The Force Awakens and that’s ONLY because a client of mine thought I “just had to see it” so she got me a gift card to the movie theater. DH did want to go see it, so we did. I would have never paid to go see it.
  • DH is a starwars fan, so we went and saw it. I had delicious popcorn so I didn't mind going...plus our theater has individual lazy boy seats..that recline and have the leg rest....so hello comfort.
  • H and I are huge SW fans and have been since we were kids. Our kids are big SW fans. It's a family thing. I love it. We're big sci-fi and fantasy nerds in general.

  • My UO is I hate cleaning- and won't clean areas I don't enjoy ( shower, windowsills)...i have my main areas I clean...anywho DH is in full nesting mode and he wants the house deep cleaned. Today he cleaned the bathroom I pretend doesn't exist while I did windows/ sills.
Tomorrow we are cleaning/ purging kitchen cupboards.  When we have 14 days off together...this isn't what I imagined doing.  :)
at least one of us is motivated.
  • Lol DH is a HUGE Star Wars fan. He went to Star Wars celebration in Orlando, owns all kind of Star Wars stuff *junk* haha! And DS’s room is Star Wars theme... we did that for his nursery.

I didn’t know what Star Wars was till I met him. In retrospect, I’m shocked he liked me haha!!!

so naturally we watched the first available showing the evening before it came out. It was fun, but I wouldn’t do it without him!

  • I think maternity photos are weird. I have seen a few cute ones, but the dramatic gowns and semi naked ones are just odd to me - what would I ever do with that? I also hate how I look when pregnant
Agreed! HDBD posts are hard enough for me to do. Not doing glorious earth mother flowing half naked draped in chiffon pictures at all!

  • In the same vein of maternity photos, I wasn't into the "we're expecting" photo shoot either. Now I've seen some adorable ones but theure not for me.

I guess because I'm PGAL I'm so surprised at the people who do those photo shoots before their very first OB appointment when the pee is almost still wet on the stick. There's no way I could do that!

  • I'm not sure if this is unpopular but I HATE bath time! My DS dumps water everywhere. I just sit while he plays just waiting to fight to dress him after. And he just got tubes so now I get to fight with ear plugs!

DH and I were just having this exact conversation.   Bath time sucks.   We do both boys at the same time to make it a little faster but we fight them to get naked, put up with the fighting over who gets washed first, water everywhere and then fighting to get dressed.

My UO is as excited as I am for Christmas, I’m equally excited for it to be over.   It’s the only thing left keeping me from being able to finish getting ready for baby.

Uh YES. I’ve started putting DS and DD in the shower instead. It’s just so much easier to contain the water lol.

  • I’m not a bath time fan either and since DS is still so little I get away with giving as few baths as possible in a week. He loves baths though so I feel like a mean mom, but it’s just such an ordeal at the end of long days. I don’t even like to shower myself every day...

I liked Star Wars until the newer ones happened. My UO is that I hated the first new one and refuse to see any more of them.

Yesss! I feel like such a grinch because I can't wait to pack away all our Christmas stuff again. It all just seems like clutter this year and I'd much rather be dealing with baby gear.
  • UO  Gifts are not my love language and most things I'm given that are thoughtful, but not useful are hard for me to be happy about. I'm very much a minimalist by nature, so most of my personal wishlist items are specific items or something I need around the house (this year I had a vacuum on there).

This is me to a tee! Clean my house! That’s my love language! I don’t need gifts, or jewelry, and sure as heck don’t touch me/rub on me to get me in the mood, this is DH’s love language (then touching) DH STILL doesn’t get it and I say it all. The. Time!

This makes me so happy. I totally agree!!! I need to pull out the gear so that I can teach our 8 month old German Shepherd to leave it alone.  Waiting till after Christmas it’s not giving me nearly as much time as I had wanted.  It’s going down… Possibly the day after Christmas LOL

  • This is a very UO for myself--because you gals know how I feel about my MIL--but she is my hero today.  I had my work Christmas party last night and she kept DS.  Well, he started throwing up over night and she has taken care of him and is keeping him today in hopes of preventing me from getting sick.  It also allows me to wrap presents and get laundry done.  I wish I could take care of DS--but my best friend (who is 29 weeks preg) was hospitalized last week because of the stomach bug.  So today--my MIL rocks.

Awww! Sometimes MILs come through. That's so great! Fingers crossed you don't get sick!
  • I'm also on the "ready for Christmas to be over" side. DH put the tree up and added lights while I was at work, and that's as far as we've gotten. I can't be bothered to put ornaments on, just to have to take them down. I've get better things to do... like nap. It doesn't help that we agreed to (almost) no presents this year. (I got DH a Toblerone and socks.)
  • @magnolia305 Hope you avoid the bug.

@ldawngirl781 Our tree also has no ornaments. Or lights, actually, because our puppies ate a bottom branch or two. In fact, we had to drag it out of the living room so now its sitting next to the table in the dining room. I need to just have DH haul it to the garbage.
  • Is loving cleaning a popular opinion? I think my mom is the only person I know who enjoys cleaning. I find cleaning to be an exercise in futility because it just gets dirty again. Hence I throw money at the problem and pay a cleaning lady.
My father and sister love to clean.  I mean, they really love it.  My dad loves it the most.  I don't get it.  At all.  Sometimes, I don't even understand how I can be related to someone who loves to clean that much.

This is why I dislike Christmas  ( big grinch here ). Presents...cant stand to get them. To me they seem like a waste of money when it's not something I need or want...it becomes clutter.

I am jealous. I want a cleaning lady.

I like getting presents, if there is some thought put into it or a personal touch. But with DH's family, they're all about lists - you must buy off the list. But it irks me as there is no thought to it and 90% of the time, I get an item I want but it's not exactly what I would buy myself. For example, I asked for a diffuser for my birthday and I got one, but it's smaller than I would like and it's not really the look/style I'd pick myself. I'm using it, but it's just not right. I'll likely just buy one that I really like later on anyway.

If I had my way, we'd stop buying presents for DH's family. I'd rather just not do it and shop for myself and get exactly what I want and they can do the same.

Same.  I hate cleaning.  Worth every penny
  • I hired a cleaning...Thanksgiving Day she said she would come. Never did. Never received a call saying why. Never came back. Puts a sour taste in my mouth!!!
