How far along are you?

Any appointments coming up?

Questions?

How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here)

GTKY: New Years is coming, so do you have any plans?  Any plans you normally do, but are ducking this year due to pregnancy?

    Any appointments coming up?
My FL ones on the 26th and 27th!  Four appts.

    Questions?
    I don't think so.

    I really miss alcohol lately!

No, since we are going out of town and won't be back until the 28th, we probably won't do much this year.

  • @sparklingdiamond whew 4 appts?  That sounds exhausting, esp with travel thrown in.  Good luck on all of them, and keep us updated!  I am crossing my fingers SO hard for you and your girl.

  • @sparklingdiamond Girl, I feel you on the alcohol (wine). Have a safe trip to FL and good luck at all of those appts! I hope that meeting with the specialist puts you somewhat (relatively) at ease and that you get lots of information. <3

    Any appointments coming up?
    Not for a couple weeks.

    Questions?
    Not today!

I'm pretty good! Though, my EDD with my loss is this week which has me feeling all kinds of weird emotions, if I let myself think about it. I know that there are loss moms who have had to get through EDDs with an empty uterus, so, I'm obviously super grateful for this pregnancy and that baby girl looks healthy at this point. I still can't help but feel sad when I think of the other baby that didn't make it and what I could have had right now but don't, which makes me feel like a giant asshole and want to punch myself in the face. Obviously, I have this baby to look forward to meeting now and I'm thankful for her, just... complicated emotions that I'm sure will pass soon.

No plans. We haven't done the usual New Years party stuff in several years because we are old and tired. :joy:

  • @kbamomma33 I am sorry and I hope this week gets easier for you.  I think it's always hard to get over the loss of a baby and wondering the "what if".

  • How far along? 22ish weeks
    Appointments? Not until next week
    Questions? None
How am I? Right now I am good.  There is still that slight fear that even though my anatomy scan, nt scan, and nt blood work came back that something was missed.  With dd, my anatomy scan came back okay, which is part of that fear. I was given an option for more scans from my ob but declined because I hate to admit it but I just wanted to be left alone this time.
    GTKY: no new years plans
@kbamomma33 ; reaching that edd was hard for me, I tried to keep myself busy that day by doing family stuff.  I don't know if it would have been easier if we were pregnant or not, but I purposefully held off on ttc until after that date.
@sparklingdiamond Good luck next week.  Have they discussed about doing anything in utero? I tried to look up some stuff when you first posted about it and they said that was an option.

    kbamomma33sparklingdiamondmikkimikey
  • @rklinge0 The only in utero thing they sometimes do is the FETO (fetal tracheal occlusion), but apparently this doctor doesn't do them because they don't believe there is enough evidence that it really helps that much and it can often trigger pre-term labor.

  • @kbamomma33 ((hugs)).  I'm sorry you are facing your anniversary right now.  All of your emotions are valid and normal for the situation, so don't be too hard on yourself about how you "should feel".

    23 weeks today!!

    Any appointments
    coming up?
Not really. Not until the first of the year

I mention this on my Wednesday ticker thread change, so I am definitely going to bitch here as well. I have had some of the worst heartburn of my life. I will sometimes swallow too much water at one time, and it feels like fire going down. That seems excessive to me. I also had my gallbladder emergency removed during the pregnancy of my son nine years ago, so I have a feeling that has something to do with it also.

Also, the tailbone pain is out of control. So are the stupid Charlie horses that I get every single night that week me up a few times a night.

So yeah, hot mess right here!

I do have plans, and I wish I didn’t. We always go over to my best friends house, and her daughter and my daughter are the same age. It’s fun and all, but I want to be in bed by 10, let’s just be for real. But she will be pissed off if I don’t go honestly. She’s not one of the most understanding people When it comes to me having to back out of things...

  • I keep forgetting to update in my own thread!  Blah, I blame pregnancy brain.

How far along are you? 24 weeks tomorrow

    Any appointments coming up?
Not until next week.  It should just be a boring quick visit.

    Questions?
Anyone else starting to feel uncomfortably big yet?  I am bumping into things and starting to have trouble rolling over in bed.

How are you doing? (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here)
Doing ok, for the most part.  My eyes and nose are on fire most days, but they seem to have passed the worst of it.  I no longer am on the verge of injuring my eyes, or go through a box of tissue every day.  So yay?

Our group of friends get together each year to have a nerdy New Years party, and I totally ducked out of it.  Because no, I dont want tp try to stay up until 1am, watch everyone drink all night, and be forced to be my DHs dedicated driver.  Pass and pass.  Maybe next year !

  • @ngolimento I have found that I can't easily bend over to get things!

  • Thanks everyone for the support regarding my EDD this week. <3

@rklinge0 I don't blame you for wanting to be left alone as far as extra scans are concerned. If that slight fear gets to be too much and you ended up deciding that you wanted to, would your OB still do the extra scans towards the end?

@mikkimikey Ugggghhh- sorry all of those symptoms are hitting you so hard right now. Hang in there. I totally don't blame you for not being enthused about your New Years plans this year. Staying up past 10 is nearly impossible for me too. Maybe a fun mocktail, some good snacks, and a comfy spot on the couch at her house will help you power through? You could always accidentally fall asleep too.

@ngolimento I'm glad that your eyes and nose are feeling a bit better! And girl, I'm feeling so huge and uncomfortable right now too! Like, it's hard to breathe a lot of the time because everything is pressing on my lungs. I don't remember it being this bad with DD this early, though I may have conveniently forgotten. Whomp whomp.
    ngolimentomikkimikeyrklinge0
  • @mikkimikey sorry about the tailbone pain and charley horses.  I definitely feel more sore after the days I workout.
@ngolimento I can't understand why you don't want to be the d.d. ( insert sarcasm). Sorry about feeling uncomfortable.
@kbamomma33 I am sure if I get really worried they would give me what I want. Part of me has to believe that 1 out of my 3 pregnancies would hopefully be complication free, so I don't want to go down that "rabbit hole".
