Hi ladies - This is for all of us expecting more than one little blessing! How are you doing this week? Feel free to post bump pics or ultrasound pics and of course babies pics when they finally get here.!.!
1. How far along are you? If your EDD , cut off week, or genders are not above please post that here so I can add it 26 weeks today 2. Any recent appointment updates,if not when is your next appt? Nothing super recent. Next appointment is the 2nd. Last week I did have an appointment, but it was only to get a doctor's note saying I needed to work from home because I don't fit behind the steering wheel of my car any more so I can't drive. 3.How much did your babies weigh at your last ultrasound? Didn't do a growth check at the last ultrasound. I did ask about it this time and the midwife said they will be doing a growth check at the next ultrasound. 4. How are you feeling? Tired a lot and feel huge, though that's normal lol. I do have pregnancy related carpal tunnel which sucks because nothing really seems to be helping it. I've been wearing a wrist brace at night to try and help but I think it might actually be making it worse. 5. Best moment with the babies this week? DH got to feel them move this week! He's been avoiding touching my belly and I finally got him to feel it when they were moving. 6. Did you buy anything, or see anything you want to get for the babies this week? Buy anything, no. I did get a couple of things as hand-me-downs from a friend which is always appreciated I also worked on finishing up my registries so I saw a bunch of stuff I want to get for them lol 7. Any thing you want to share? Any Questions? Has anyone's belly button popped out to being an outie? Mine is still an innie which seems odd to me with how big it is.

@amanning2011 I have pregnancy carpal tunnel too--just started this last week and it suuuucks. Right now I can live with it but if it gets a lot worse I don't now what I'm gonna do. I hope yours isn't too bad! As for your belly button question, Mine is a partial outie but mostly just flat and stretched. I have heard some ppl get to keep their innies. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones!
1. How far along are you? If your EDD , cut off week, or genders are not above please post that here so I can add it 27 + 4
2. Any recent appointment updates,if not when is your next appt? I have my welcome to 3rd tri appointment and first NST Thursday.
3.How much did your babies weigh at your last ultrasound? N/A but 15th %ile
4. How are you feeling? Physically pretty shitty. I feel like I have 99% of all possible pregnancy symptoms. This last week alone I developed carpal tunnel + heartburn. Fun.
5. Best moment with the babies this week? It's just nice that they're moving enough now to quell the constant anxiety of wondering whether they're OK.
6. Did you buy anything, or see anything you want to get for the babies this week? We spent way too much money this month and have to wait to make more purchases until January, but we did get our mobiles from the registry. They're super cute. Been putting up the decals this weekend and so the twin nursery is starting to look way more like a nursery and less like a crib prison.
7. Any thing you want to share? Any Questions? Those of you having 2 of the same sex: how are you deciding which baby gets which name?
1. How far along are you? If your EDD , cut off week, or genders are not above please post that here so I can add it
Hi, I am new! I am about 29 weeks today. My EDD is March 4th, 2018 and I'm having mono/di boys!
2. Any recent appointment updates,if not when is your next appt?
My next appointment is tomorrow with my OB.
3.How much did your babies weigh at your last ultrasound?
Baby A was 2.4 pounds and Baby B was 2.3 pounds.
4. How are you feeling?
I either am sick or have allergies with chest congestion, but luckily I don't FEEL sick! Besides that, normal ligament pain, back pain, and contractions make life a little more difficult.
5. Best moment with the babies this week?
My fiancé put his head on my belly and one of the babies "punched" him right in the face! It was hilarious.
6. Did you buy anything, or see anything you want to get for the babies this week?
We bought some onsies, socks, and cleaning stuff like detergent.
7. Any thing you want to share? Any Questions?
I just want to say hi to everyone and congratulations!
Hi @lexigirl1228, welcome to the board I've had congestion my entire pregnancy so it might just be hormones.
@vflux33 my carpal tunnel is at the point where just holding a fork sometimes sets it off. At my appointment on the 2nd I'm going to ask about it, I do data entry for a job so I'm not sure if I'll continue to be able to do it until after the babies are born. As far as which name goes with which baby, we chose a name for first born and then one for second born, so whoever comes out first is Emily and whoever comes out second is Elizabeth.

Any recent appointment updates,if not when is your next appt? next OB appt is day after Christmas 3.How much did your babies weigh at your last ultrasound? 2.3 & 2.4
4. How are you feeling?
congested. tired. 24/7 backache. huge. out of breath. slow moving. incredibly sexy and amazed that my body is growing 2 babies.
Way less productive at work due to the pregnancy in general. I'm going to try to make it until the end of January to stop working but that's pushing it. It will be a stretch financially but worth it in the long run. The healthier all 3 of us are for the next several weeks, the better we will be in long term.
Last but not least, HUNGRY. I have noticed a distinct increase in my hunger the past few days. I read that in 3rd tri for a twin pregnancy, we are supposed to consume an additional 900 calories/day!
5. Best moment with the babies this week?
I've started talking to them on my drives to and from work. It's a nice time for us to get acquainted
6. Did you buy anything, or see anything you want to get for the babies this week?
We are waiting until after our shower in January to really buy much. DH put the changing table together this weekend though so nursery is kinda coming together.
7. Any thing you want to share? Any Questions?
I did some pre natal yoga yesterday which
was really helpful for my back pain.
I was WAY more pregnant than the lady in the video but just did what I could and didn't try to push myself.
belly button is still an innie but has been so stretched out that it has basically disappeared. I can no longer actually see it for myself without a mirror but it feels like a little slit. lol
@amanning2011 Wow that sucks, yours sounds way worse than mine! I can still type with little problem. Have you tried those hand brace thingies for sleep? Ppl keep recommending them to me, but I'm worried they'll keep me up at night.
@syssa-o I love those! My mom got us hats with ears that are kinda like that. And I *may* have bought peanut butter and jelly onesies... and peas and carrots onesies... and taco and hot sauce onesies
@vflux33 - we are having two boys and the first name we decided on went to the baby who I felt first. It wasn't until a few weeks later I felt second babe and soon after we had another name.
@vflux33 I have been trying wrist braces at night, but I think it's actually making it worse, for me anyway I can type still with few issues, but pretty much anything else causes tingling and pain. I know the typing is probably making it worse which is my concern.

2. Any recent appointment updates,if not when is your next appt? No appointment updates. Except that my ob seemed kind of bitter today that I didn’t schedule the csection when they called. Oh well! Have the NST scheduled and starting in January. Seeing the dietitian again on weds. She gave me some links to check out the last visit... one of them is for meal planning and it seems pretty neat...you can upload recipes (cut/paste a link or take a pic or manually type it up) and drop them into the meal plan and then it creates a shopping list for you. https://www.plantoeat.com/welcome Trying to make eating healthy as simple as possible when the twins arrive! Hopefully this helps she also recommended an instapot. Looks pretty neat too.
3.How much did your babies weigh at your last ultrasound? some of these appts seem so useless. The only time when I get the weights and any sort of info regarding the babies is when I see the specialist. Seeing her on Thursday
4. How are you feeling? Not too shabby. Definitely more hungry these days and sick...again...this time with a head cold.
5. Best moment with the babies this week? Went to a musical on Saturday and the babies sure do seem to love the live music! It was so funny feeling like they were dancing during the music!
6. Did you buy anything, or see anything you want to get for the babies this week? bought them Moses baskets and then realized the site I bought them on didn’t indicate they were approved for overnight sleeping. When I contacted them to ask, they said “supervised sleeping only”...I took that as a no, because i would like to sleep when they sleep (or at least have that as an option). So I canceled the order.
7. Any thing you want to share? Any Questions?
I’m curious to know who has scheduled a cesarean and when they did? Trying to get an idea of what the standard is...the other part that confused me is that I would be induced at 39 weeks but schedule the csection at 38 weeks. Maybe I overthink everything..
@awolfff - seems a little premature to schedule a C section, no? Are you for sure going to have one or are you shooting for a vaginal delivery if possible?
Question for all - Anyone thought of/considered placenta encapsulation? If so, will you be doing it yourself or paying to have it done? Are you using both (if you have 2) or only 1 placenta? I've been thinking a lot about this because I am prone to depression and there's talk that this may ward PPD off...I don't think I could encapsulate it myself though. Stuff like that really grosses me out.
@i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake I know a couple people who swear by it. I don't feel like the research is there yet to go for it myself, but if I was gonna do it I'd 100% NOT do it myself even if I could get past the ew factor because I'd be worried about contamination and I'd also want someone looking at it who has looked at a lot of placentas before and would know if something looked "off" and possibly dangerous to ingest. If you know any acupuncturists, naturopaths, or doulas in your area I bet they could refer you to someone decent or know how to do it themselves. If I was going to do it, that's who I'd ask. Also, if you haven't already I'd double-check with your hospital and see how they preserve it for you (and if they have preserved it before, because I bet that some hospitals toss them without asking).
@i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake I am not going to do placenta encapsulation, mostly because I can't find any actual scientific evidence that it helps with anything. I've found that most of the people who say it does either have something to gain from you doing it or heard from someone who heard from someone that it helped this other person they knew. I haven't heard about it hurting anything so it's kind of a personal preference type thing just make sure if you do you find a reputable company to do it.

@i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake no, I’m hoping for vaginal delivery. Meeting our doula tomorrow so maybe she will have some recommendations for ensuring babies are in ideal position for vaginal delivery (the docs at my hospital will only support a cesarean if either is breech). Currently b is breech and OB is not letting me forget it!
I would consider placenta encapsulation, but recently I read that they don’t really recommend it due to contamination during the encapsulation process. Had my meeting with the dietitian today. She emailed me some tips for postpartum care and some of it includes mental health. Here’s what she sent (sorry if it is choppy, I just copied and pasted).
• Snacks (put in plastic or silicone reusable bags to decrease noise & preserve freshness):
o Trail mix
o Oatmeal bars – i.e. KIND breakfast bars
o Energy balls (2/3 cup creamy PB, ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, 1 cup old fashioned oats, ½ cup ground flaxseed, 2T honey à mix & refrigeratechefsavvy.com)
o Wheat crackers
o Dried fruit
o Organic coconut snacks by Creative Snacks Co. (Stater Brothers)
o PB pretzels (Trader Joe’s)
**ETA her emphasis has been mostly on self care postpartum. Today she said it’s really important that you get outside (not like family outting outside, but maybe just in the front of the house or backyard)...she also said the probiotic is known to be helpful. She explained why and of course I forgot! Something about estrogen. I currently add Kefir to my smoothies...probably just continue that.
Soo saw MFM today and the specialist told me to go to triage. Apparently was having contractions and dilated (~1cm) and my cervix is short. In triage they gave me a nifedipine to slow contractions and a steroid to help mature the lungs. Nifedipine slowed things down and I was able to go home after the shot...not on bedrest but “limited activity” (kind of unrealistic with my two year old but whatever, I’ll do what I can). I go back for a second shot of the steroid tomorrow. I’m hoping these babes just hang tight for a couple months
Otherwise, the babies looked really good, movement is healthy and they are growing really well! A is 2lbs 15 oz and B is 3 lbs 11 oz.
Feeling kind of silly for getting so worked up about the method of delivery...but met with our doula who offered us some recommendations of doctors who are in our HMO network and even part of the 20 doc rotation that we are currently in. So switching may not be much of a problem. Going to likely see my OB again tomorrow and we will how I feel about it then and hopefully the nifedipine has slowed things down enough to not have any real concerns.
Side note: 29 weeks today and cannot believe that in an ideal world (for me) we would have our babies in roughly 8 weeks! That’s nothing. Eek! Here’s hoping!!
@awolfff Oh wow, I’m so glad they were able to slow things down. I hope everything they did works and that you can keep your LOs cooking for 2 more months!!
Sorry ladies I have not felt like doing anything this week..
1. How far along are you? If your EDD , cut off week, or genders are not above please post that here so I can add it 29wks (8wks or less to go) Praise the Lord!! 2. Any recent appointment updates,if not when is your next appt? I had my Ob appointment on Wednesday. I got good news and bad news(to me anyway) Good news was that my low lying placenta moved and is not an issue anymore, so pelvic rest has been lifted!! Bad news is that my girl flipped breech yet again and my cervix is a 5. Yes it might sound good to you but i just would think that it should be starting to go down not up. 3.How much did your babies weigh at your last ultrasound? At 26wks they were 2lbs 1oz and 2lbs even 4. How are you feeling? Like crap. Couldn't sleep then babies were in my ribs. I just cant get comfortable. 5. Best moment with the babies this week? Seeing them on the ultrasound, but seeing this was even better.. 6. Did you buy anything, or see anything you want to get for the babies this week? Yes..broke down and got the twins packnplay.. 7. Any thing you want to share? Any Questions? I asked my ob about my numbness in my hands and she said i could try a wrist brace and reduce salt intake.. mine doesn't come on just while sleeping anymore..just holding my phone for a few minutes does it. Also it happened while driving the other day. She also said if those things dont work to let them know as we dont want to cause permanent damage. She also told me they had a patient that actually had to have surgery on both hands and then had her babies 2 weeks later.. I also asked about the OR ? She said yes i would labor in a labor room and be moved to the OR at a certain point. Also the dry epidural is an option, but she said they would most likely give a test dose to make sure its working..
@momma6angels11 I’m loving the picture!!! What a cutie!! It sounds like things are going really well (outside of the discomfort) and hopefully the next 8 weeks go fast

bought them Moses baskets and then realized the site I bought them on didn’t indicate they were approved for overnight sleeping.
@lexigirl1228 welcome and congrats!!!
@syssa-o love those outfits

Postpartum Care-
Self-care box:
**ETA her emphasis has been mostly on self care postpartum. Today she said it’s really important that you get outside (not like family outting outside, but maybe just in the front of the house or backyard)...she also said the probiotic is known to be helpful. She explained why and of course I forgot! Something about estrogen. I currently add Kefir to my smoothies...probably just continue that.
1. How far along are you? If your EDD , cut off week, or genders are not above please post that here so I can add it
29wks (8wks or less to go) Praise the Lord!!
2. Any recent appointment updates,if not when is your next appt?
I had my Ob appointment on Wednesday. I got good news and bad news(to me anyway)
Good news was that my low lying placenta moved and is not an issue anymore, so pelvic rest has been lifted!!
Bad news is that my girl flipped breech yet again and my cervix is a 5.
Yes it might sound good to you but i just would think that it should be starting to go down not up.
3.How much did your babies weigh at your last ultrasound?
At 26wks they were 2lbs 1oz and 2lbs even
