    27+1 today!
    2. Any recent appointment updates,if not when is your next appt?
My next appointment is with the OB on December 20th!
3.How much did your babies weigh at your last ultrasound?
Last week they were 2lbs 1oz and 2lbs
    4. How are you feeling?
Out of breathe and uncomfortable..just counting down the weeks..
    5. Best moment with the babies this week?
Just watching them take turns moving this week make all this uncomfortable feeling worth it.
    6. Did  you buy anything, or see anything you want to get for the  babies  this week?
Nope.. i hope to get some things when i go to my ob appointment next week..
    7. Any  thing you want to share? Any Questions?

Is anyone getting any sleep at this point? Or do you feel like the 1st trimester has come back to haunt you?

8.Anyone planning on doing Maternity photos? If so what week will you be doing them?
Im planning on doing them between 30 and 32 weeks as i havent made up my mind yet..
  • @momma6angels11 Sleep is so hard! I'm not getting any 1st tri nausea, but I'm definitely starting to have a harder time with... well, everything!

    1. How far along are you? If your EDD , cut off week, or genders are not above please post that here so I can add it
    26 + 5

    2. Any recent appointment updates,if not when is your next appt? I start my birth class this Thursday, and I have my next OB appointment + I think my first NST next Thursday.

3.How much did your babies weigh at your last ultrasound? N/A on exact weight, but was told 15th %ile

    4. How are you feeling? Tired, out of breath, either have a cold or pregnancy rhinitis and it is driving me CRAZY and making sleep even worse.

    5. Best moment with the babies this week? I can't think of anything specific, but they're definitely moving more and letting me know they're still there, which is always comforting.

    6. Did  you buy anything, or see anything you want to get for the  babies  this week? We added a really cute lamp to the registry this week that matches our decals.

    7. Any  thing you want to share? Any Questions? Anyone here have experience with the class b nasal spray, Rhinocort?

8.Anyone planning on doing Maternity photos? If so what week will you be doing them?
I'm not into maternity photos. I love that I'm pregnant but not in love with being pregnant and have too many body image issues to memorialize it. For everyone getting them, I hope yours turn out great!

  • Hey ladies! No appointment updates for me this week. I had to reschedule mine because I came down with the stomach flu. Next week though!
  • @awolfff I hope you feel better soon.. I heard the flu is awful this year.. Take care of yourself and try to rest as much as you can..I know sleep is most likely difficult right now..
  • @vflux33 I too have body image issues,  but Ive decided to get the pictures taken for the babies to have when they get older.. I never look good enough to myself so im just gonna get them done and put them with the babies memory stuff.. Im sorry I don't have any experience with the nasal spray.. Im not having the nausea either its just the being exhausted all the time and not getting any sleep..
  • @momma6angels11 Yeah people keep telling me to get them for that reason, but neither MH nor have ever seen a photo of our mothers pregnant with us and it never occurred to us to care so we don't feel like our kids would miss them, BUT if you loved photos of your mom pregnant, or wish you had seen some I can see how that would make you want to do it. Honestly, I'm not a big picture person in general--not just when pregnant--so that's probably a big part of why I'm not bothering. Just a preference I guess!

    2. Any recent appointment updates,if not when is your next appt?
At our appointment last Friday, baby B's abdomen was measuring about 2 weeks behind and had dropped to about the 3rd percentile, so we will start having weekly visits/ultrasounds to monitor her growth and cord blood flow/fluid levels. So I have an appointment scheduled every week through the beginning January, and then we will see if she has grown enough to go back to our biweekly spots.

3.How much did your babies weigh at your last ultrasound?
    Baby A was 1lb 5oz and Baby B was 1lb 3oz

    4. How are you feeling?
Feeling nervous about the possible growth issue with baby b. But also hopeful because the doctor said she could catch up on her own. Also, my girls are just 10% different from each other in overall size, so as long as they stay within 20% of each other it is good news! Other than that, feeling super emotional and my back/hips are hurting and making it hard to walk normally. I feel like the waffle is starting! And sleep has been rough the last week or so!

    5. Best moment with the babies this week?
Seeing them facing each other during the ultrasound- so cute!! And feeling them move more!

    6. Did  you buy anything, or see anything you want to get for the  babies  this week?
We bought our cribs and are hoping to get them set up in the nursery this weekend!

    7. Any  thing you want to share? Any Questions?

Anyone else having growth issues with their twins? Also, at 25 weeks, I don't know how much I "should" be feeling them move. It's definitely more ag night and sporadically throughout the day that I feel them- sound normal?

8.Anyone planning on doing Maternity photos? If so what week will you be doing them?

    No photos for me!

  • @kikikav I'm sorry one of your girls is measuring small. My twins are a bit small too, but not as much as that. At our last ultrasound their sizes were concordant with each other, but both 15th %ile so I'm trying really really hard to beef them up before the next ultrasound so that they don't slip below that 10% threshold where all the extra monitoring and stuff starts. Do you eat a lot of red meat? MH says he has noticed I look like I'm getting bigger after the days I eat red meat. Maybe it's in his head or maybe it's because I'm anemic, but might be worth a shot!

Your movement observations sound totally normal to me BTW. They move around more when you're less active so if you're on your feet a lot during the day you're unlikely to feel much then.
  • @i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake do you still have a  low lying  placenta?
  • Oops! Here's my post from the other thread...

    1. How far along are you?
If your EDD , cut off week, or genders are not above please post that here so I can add it
    27 weeks today!
    2. Any recent appointment updates,if not when is your next appt?
    had OB appt yesterday
good news: I am not diabetic and I'm not having contractions (not even BH)
bad news: no sex, travel restrictions, still anemic despite extra iron, and lots of C-section talk
3.How much did your babies weigh at your last ultrasound?
2 lb 3 oz & 2 lb 4 oz (measurements as of 9 days ago)
    4. How are you feeling?
    actually feeling pretty well today.
    5. Best moment with the babies this week?
I was lying in bed and one of the babes kicked so hard it shook the bed! It was wild.
    6. Did  you buy anything, or see anything you want to get for the  babies  this week?
I bought a changing table for the nursery. Still no cribs.
    7. Any  thing you want to share? Any Questions?
I've officially outgrown XL mens tshirts. Oh and I recommend compression socks for cankles. they really do work.
8.Anyone planning on doing Maternity photos? If so what week will you be doing them?
No, I don't think I'll be doing professional photos although I have been wanting to put together a scrapbook for awhile

@momma6angels11 - I have never had a low lying placenta. Just have an anterior placenta on the right.
  • @vflux33 - I haven't gotten Rinocort but OB is putting me on Nasacort + Afrin for my congestion. I've been mouth breathing since 1st trimester and I hate it. My hubs sleeps in guest room bc of my snoring, it's crazy!
  • @i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake Interesting--my OB won't let me take Afrin, but maybe that's because your congestion has been going on longer or is more severe? This wouldn't be the first time my OB discouraged me from taking things that other people's OBs say are fine. I wish I could take Afrin! That was the only thing that worked for me whenever I got sick before getting pregnant...
  • @i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake oh so why the no sex stipulations? I get the traveling one, but if no low placenta just wondering why no sex..
  • I was told the no sex rule is because sex, both orgasm and penetration, can lead to pre term contractions/labor. I have my doubts about this. I've been having sex and orgasms no problem but I think my OB is just very very VERY cautious. Which is fine, I think I'm past the point of wanting to have sex. Just way too uncomfortable for anything (besides the babies) to be on top or inside of me! Of course I say that now at the end of a long day. We'll see how it goes.
  • 1. How far along are you? If your EDD , cut off week, or genders are not above please post that here so I can add it 25w2d

    2. Any recent appointment updates,if not when is your next appt?I had an ultrasound on Monday. The cyst on baby b's brain is completely gone and the enlarged ventricle has remained the same size as 2 weeks ago, so that's good. My OB said he is not worried about it at all, but they have to tell us if the measurement is 1.0 cm or above (it's exactly 1.0)

3.How much did your babies weigh at your last ultrasound? 2 lbs and 1 lb 13 oz

    4. How are you feeling? Eh...I still get nauseous every evening and my back is KILLING me.

    5. Best moment with the babies this week? The ultrasound on Monday.

    6. Did  you buy anything, or see anything you want to get for the  babies  this week? No, but I dug out all our newborn and 3 month clothes.  So tiny! And I sanitized all the cloth diapers.  Not sure how that will go with twins though...

    7. Any  thing you want to share? Any Questions? Is anyone using a pregnancy support belt?  If so, which one and does it help??

8.Anyone planning on doing Maternity photos? If so what week will you be doing them?
I wanted to, but I feel like I'm too big and past the point of being a cute pregnant lady.  Maybe we still will.
  • @vfluxx My ob is ok with Afrin as long as I don't use it for more than 3 days at a time.  It's the only way I was able to survive two gnarly colds in first tri. I'm sorry, I hope you get some relief soon :(
  • @Gingham I'm glad to hear Baby B is looking good!

PS. I was totally going to do cloth diapers until I found out we were having twins...

    Yeah, sorry, environment. :#
  • @GinghamI haven't yet, but will probably break down and buy a belt soon because dear Lord my back hurts.

The only reason I haven't is because I really don't enjoy having anything restricting the bump. Even my maternity jeans with the high waist I don't like. When I'm at home I usually wear a bra and a robe and that's it. Feels better that way.
  • Have any of you guys heard that people who have spontaneous twins are more likely to have a smoother pregnancy/birth because "their body is ready for it" compared to people who have twins as a result of infertility treatments?

At my birth class last night I was chatting with a MoM who had hers spontaneously and she mentioned that. Mine were not spontaneous so I am sort of upset to hear this and freaking out a bit.
  • @vflux33 - ummmm...that sounds like b.s. to me. Mine are not spontaneous and I think my pregnancy is going very well with no complications thus far. knock on wood.

  • @i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake Thanks, that makes me feel better. I don't think she made it up or was trying to make me feel bad. I guess it could be that someone was telling her that to make her feel more confident about her pregnancy and then she assumed mine was spontaneous too and wanted to spread those good vibes to me... it was awkward because I didn't want to talk about IF stuff especially in front of the other soon-to-be moms in the class, but she probably read the panic in my face and figured it out lol.
  • 1. How far along are you?
    27 weeks

    2. Any recent appointment updates, if not when is your next appt?
    Passed my glucose test. Phew!

3.How much did your babies weigh at your last ultrasound?
23rd percentile and 43rd percentile. Amazing that just 2 oz can be a 20% difference.

    4. How are you feeling?
Pretty good. Feeling frustrated I can't walk far and getting a lot of rib pain while I sleep. But can't complain too much.

    5. Best moment with the babies this week?
I love when DD comes up and rubs my belly and says 'hi babies'

    6. Did  you buy anything, or see anything you want to get for the  babies  this week?
Haven't bought anything else, I think we're almost set. But still need to figure out the by-the-bed sleeping situation.

    7. Any thing you want to share? Any Questions?
I can't stop drinking all the eggnog. Also, this felt like the longest pregnancy ever, and now the time is flying by.

8.Anyone planning on doing Maternity photos? If so what week will you be doing them?
    No professional photos for me.

@vflux33 I think that sounds like BS too. I hope you don't let it get to you. Everyone's body reacts to pregnancy differently, regardless of the circumstances, right?

@syssa-o I love the name Tessa!

  • No real updates over here!! We didn’t take maternity, but we do take family pictures for our Christmas card and gifts for the grandmas. For whatever reason I was really opposed to making any announcements this time. I think it’s because I’m actually pretty anxious about this and the comments we have gotten this far have made it worse (and that was from our close friends and family- can’t imagine what we would hear from extended). So we just sort of let the moms spread the news and tell people as we see them. They will see the twin bump on the card anyway.

Is anyone else nesting hardcore? Past two nights I was up all night organizing and cleaning and driving my husband crazy! “Sorry, babe..this pantry HAD to be reorganized before the twins arrive”

@vflux33 I want to know just how they would even come to that conclusion? There are so many other uncontrollable variables in each pregnancy, I would think it would be rather difficult to accurately say that..

and an “amen” on the cloth diapering front. I’m sure there are disposable ones that aren’t AS bad? And I’ve considered cloth once the dust settles with the twins...Hopefully that happens before too long?
  • @awolfff We're going with chlorine-free disposables. Some advertise as being more environmentally friendly than others, but who knows what will work beforehand. We're probably going to get a box of honest ones, bamboo ones, and 7th generation and see what ends up working best and being more comfortable.

I don't know how that conclusion was reached, yeah. I'm glad you all think it's BS because it's such a weird nonspecific annoying thing to think about... again, I don't think she was trying to freak me out she probably just assumed we hadn't used IF treatments, I don't know...

So in our birth class last week, it occurred to MH and I that all the comfort measures that other moms get in regular L & D rooms like showers, music, and birthing balls etc. etc. probably aren't available in an OR... have you guys thought about that? I'm going to try to get more info specific about our hospital's policies, but that sucks!
  • @vflux33 most of the birth stories ive heard with twins... they seem to labor in a regular L&D room and be moved into the OR at a certain point... I guess this is to keep the OR open for any other emergency sections that happen to come up.. I am not sure if every hospital is like this or not..
I plan on asking my OB on Wednesday about this and im going to ask if I could get a dry epidural placed instead of actually having the meds..so hopefully I can labor around the room instead of being stuck in the bed.. of course all of this also depends on babies positions and baby A's placenta.
  • @momma6angels11 Yeah I'm seeing my OB next week too so I'll also ask... I'm strongly considering forgoing the epidural in favor of nitris for the same reason. I think not feeling the lower half of my body might make me panic in the moment and I like the idea of being in control of pain relief.
  • @syssa-o yay for deciding on names! we went round and round deciding as well. but we are going with...drum-roll please...haha
    Caleb Cash & Arlo Vonn
(Cash is after Johnny while Vonn is short for Vonnegut of which DH is a big fan)
Having them named makes it feel so much more personal for me. And I think for DH too. It's just nice to call them by their name when talking to and about them. Instead of "thing 1" and "thing 2" like we started off with!
