26+4 today and baby A =2lbs 1oz and baby B = 2lbs even today
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go?
Yes I had my MFM appointment today and he said both babies look great! See weights above! Didn't get any picts as both of them were facing my back. In the beginning of the ultrasound they were both transverse and then they both switched to breech.
How are you feeling?
Im feeling as good as i can be..lol.. just yesterday the hard to breathe feeling kicked in..not so fun.. mfm doctor said it just gets worse from here.
What rants/raves/questions/advice?
Not at moment..
QOTW: Have you picked out "special" coming home outfits for your little ones?
Yes i have a preemie and newborn size for each baby..
How far along are you? What size are the babies? 32w5d...babies are about the size of a pomelo, armadillo, or squash.
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go? Last week had my 32 week appointment. Everything looked good for the most part; they're just starting me on weekly appointments/BPPs/NSTs cause baby girl is quite a bit smaller than baby boy. Not in the "worried/danger zone" yet, but they want to keep a good eye on her. Next appointment is this coming Friday, 12/8
How are you feeling? Overall pretty good, considering. @momma6angels11 i also have the hard to breathe thing too...i'll get winded from loading the dishwasher and will be breathing heavy for a few minutes and DH just looks at me all weird Uncomfortable in general. Belly and some parts of body (i noticed some people are now getting tested for that cholestatis thing lol) is a little itchy but nothing bad, OB just said to make sure to use lotion after showers and OTC cortisone cream when needed. Sleep-wise, I either get a full night of sleep, or 2 hours. I guess the minions are prepping me for when they're here on the outside...ha.
What rants/raves/questions/advice? I'm starting to get cankles! I had felt lucky that for the most part, i had no swelling or water retention the entire pregnancy, and a day or two ago, i noticed that my right ankle is def starting to swell a bit (noticed the pattern of the edge of my sock when i took it off when showering. My left ankle is definitely bigger, too, but not as noticeable as my right ankle yet. blah!
QOTW: Have you picked out "special" coming home outfits for your little ones? i had seen a couple outfits on Etsy or whatnot that were REALLY cute but expensive, but DH and I decided just to use clothes that we already had or got at the shower. Like PP, we've picked out preemie size and NB size.
I did just eat a plate of eggplant parm, from a restaurant notorious for sending women into labor. If it works within 48 hours, I get free onesies from the restaurant!
I'm 36 weeks. So ready. So big, and sore.
At the OB on Monday, they tried to check my cervix. It was so painful, I squeezed so tight, that they couldn't!!! I'm feeling anxious about being able to deal with a vaginal birth, if the babies are positioned right for it, since I clearly can't take pain, but the doctor said it will be easier with drugs. I guess I'm glad I'm not too focused on "natural" child birth.
I'm not sleeping more than 20 minutes at a time, because my hips hurt too much. I have to get up and walk. Did I mention that im ready to go?
Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science
7 IUIs, 7 BFNs. 2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs. Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire. Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus! fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP! Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)
@KLake42 - that restaurant! was it the one in georgia that has a whole page on their website about how their eggplant parm induces labor?? a good friend of mine AND my SIL have both sent me that recipe, and i intend to totally make it when i get closer to 37 weeks... (was it yummy, at least?)
@caseyw8784 Yes, that's it! We live pretty close to it. And it was delicious, and miraculously didn't cause my blood sugar to exceed the limits (I have GD).
I can't wait to meet these little girls. And I can't wait to not be pregnant any more! It's so weird, since I tried so hard and for so long to get pregnant, but it has been so rough, physically and emotionally. And I just want to hold the babies in my arms.

@KLake42 - I kind of know what you mean. It's been a long journey for DH and I to get pregnant as well, but I can't exactly say that I've *enjoyed* being pregnant the whole time...it was a bit rough. And now that we're almost at the finish line, I just want to get these twins out of me and meet them!
Glad that you liked the eggplant parm! It's one of my favorite dishes to begin with, so I'm looking forward to making it in a few weeks. I printed the recipe from their website and all...
@caseyw8784 and @KLake42 what place is this? What is the website? @KLake42 so are you being induced on Monday or having a C-section? Or will it be based on their positions? I also feel the same way..i cant wait to meet them..although ive got longer than you both..
@momma6angels11 - here is the link to the website, and directly for the page bout their "theory" that their eggplant parm causes labor to start. The link for the recipe is on this page too!
@KLake42@caseyw8784 HI, hi girls!! I thought everyone had left me. I've been gone for amonth and come back and BAM everyone has delivered. I'm with you @KLake42, I'm done being pregnant. Absolutely exhausted. My house is a mess, at least it's decorated pretty for Christmas, thanks to DH. He's been doing it all. I will get a shot of energy around every 5 days but that's it. @caseyw8784 I'm with you too, can't sleep. They're all prepping us for their take over! @momma6angels11 Hi! I'm Brittney. 35+3 with di/di girls and I'm ready, so so ready. Enjoy these weeks, everyone is different but as soon as I got to 30 weeks, I waved my flag....been miserable ever since.
Thank you @caseyw8784 ! I wonder if @KLake42 went into labor today... thats a lot of babies on that website. @britmanering73 i will try, but i am short and i already feel miserable most the time.. Did any of you get a cut off to when they will either induce or do a C-section?
@momma6angels11 My OB is trying to get us to 38 weeks. Oy! I'm short too (5'4") on a good day and they're squished and I'm miserable and in pain. Hang in there girl!
No labor for me yet! I guess the eggplant parm didn't work. But the good news is that as of yesterday, both babies are head down, so we can try induction rather than C-section on Monday! I'd really like to avoid surgery if possible.
I've been hoping to go into labor, though, because I'm so impatient. I'm glad it didn't happen last night-- we got unexpected snow, and the roads weren't safe in the early morning hours. They're clear now.
Almost time to meet my girls!

@KLake42 that is great that they are both head down! How far along will you be on Monday? I cant wait to see your update when they are finally here! I'll be thinking of you and praying labor and delivery goes smoothly! There is still time..lol..you could still go into labor today or tomorrow!!
@momma6angels11 - my cut-off will be 37 weeks, so she said they'll induce the 1st week of January at the latest ("official" due date is 1/27)
Appointment was ok. At the ultrasound they only did a BPP on both of the twins and everything looks great. This coming friday they will measure them again to see how the girl is growing, since she's slowed down in the last month or so.
Had a bit of a "scare" (not really) that I'd be sent to the hospital for monitoring after the appointment, cause the first BP reading was 149/95! They took it again a couple minutes later and it was 135/80-something, but my doctor mentioned that they'll be watching that. and i guess since my ankles have become cankles in the last week or two, she's "not quite ready" to diagnose me with pregnancy-induced hypertension. the last couple months my BP has slowly been going up into the "very high end of normal" range. My urine tests have been perfect so she's not saying anything about pre-eclampsia yet, luckily! (Of course, Doctor Google freaked me out a bit when I got home from the appointment, by saying there's a good chance for earlier induction because of the high BP...) I do get headaches, so i'm on strict direction to call asap if i have one and it's not completely gone within 30 min of taking tylenol for it. Already doing weekly appointments, and doc doesn't think it's bad enough to warrant twice weekly appts yet, either.
Other than that, it's all the same. uncomfortable....insomnia most nights...mentally done and just want them here haha. I've also started DVRing movies to watch as i get bigger and more house-bound, for pre- and post-hospital stay!
Just checking in: All is well on our front! Just came from my MFM appt and the girls are measuring 5lbs13oz and 5lbs5oz (holy crap no wonder I can't eat, breathe or sleep), 9% difference and all the Drs etc are pretty happy. I have an OB appt this Wednesday so I'm hoping they say we can deliver. They're extremely squished so they can't grow much more and I'm uncomfortable so there's that!! I'll be 36 wks on Thursday so I think that sounds good lol @KLake42 any update? Do we have girls?? @momma6angels11 I don't want to go that long but if they absolutely will not budge on earlier, I'll have to take it
@caseyw8784 im glad your scare wasn't much of a scare and you didn't have to go get monitored.. Im glad everything went well last Friday and im looking forward to your update for this Friday. I hope all looks better with baby girls weight.
I am doing great health wise from the delivery, much easier delivering 2 4lb babies then 1 7.5 lb baby , I didn’t even tear:) but emotionally this Nicu thing is kicking my ass! Round trip we have just over 100 miles a day and when I’m at the hospital I feel guilty for not being with DD and when I leave I feel guilty that I’m leaving my boys. Thank goodness this will all be a memory one day!! I wake up at 5 to drive down to the hospital , leave the hospital at 4 , get home around 5:15 and still have to get up in the middle of the night to pump every 3 hrs ( it is much more satisfying actually feeding your kid in the middle of the night as opposed to being hooked up to a machine ) ... and I hope and pray with everything I have they are home by Christmas other wise it’s going to be the worst day ever for us . DD can’t be in the nicu anymore so there would be no way to spend it together as a family ...ok sob story over!!
I hope labor went went well for @KLake42 and your girls are healthy and get to come home with you in a couple days!!
@KLake42 - i hope the induction went well and you have your girls to snuggle now!
@ecolton01 - i can't imagine having to "choose" between time with DD and with the boys. Has DD gotten to meet her brothers yet?
@britmanering73 - I will be 34w1d at my appointment on Friday...I'm hoping that my doc might be willing to consider pushing up the induction/delivery by a week or so. Right now the plan is to induce the first week of January, which is 37 weeks for me... (earlier might be happening anyway, if Baby Girl's weight isn't rising like it should be, and/or my BP keeps going up and up...blah)
@momma6angels11 - what's next for you? when is your next appointment?
@ecolton01 I hope they get released soon, i feel for you. That is one of the things i worry about..i definitely am hoping to go before 37wks, but i just pray that its not too early. Because a round trip to our closest NICU would be a little over 100 miles, and i would most likely feel the same way you are...having to leave my 1year old somewhere. Every day.
Re: MoMs (Mothers of Multiples) weekly check-in - 12/5
Yes i have a preemie and newborn size for each baby..
Next appointment is this coming Friday, 12/8
