I mostly use pinterest for sourcing haircut ideas (I'm growing out a pixie...I think). But I recently started knitting! I started by ogling the crazy expensive adorable baby knits at Misha and Puff and then realized they sell patterns, too. it's been fun! and sometimes frustrating! and fun!
I have a private baby board, but MH and I also share a private board of stuff we want for the house we'll never be able to afford, called "House of Broken Dreams". The last thing I pinned was to that board and it was a table made out of a tree stump.
The last pin I pinned was a self care thing... like how to start your own blog/journal. I’ve been focusing on making some more time for me to do things just for me on the evenings and weekends.
I rarely use pinterest anymore (I got burnt out after using it constantly for our wedding), but the last thing I pinned is a taco casserole recipe. I'm pretty sure someone here posted it on the meal planning thread, and it looked good! Of course I haven't actually made it yet...
I don't attempt crafty/artsy things anymore because it always looks so beautiful in my head, but then my execution is just horrendous. I normally get mad halfway through and quit
@orbmaker good luck growing out the pixie! It's so hard to get past that awkward phase that seems like it lasts for 6 months. I've attempted growing mine out a couple times, but then I remember why I chopped it all off in the first place. I hate hair!
@stlbuckeye132 thanks! I actually love having short hair, but get easily restless and/or wistful. I’m trying to grow now on the theory pregnancy will help! Ha. Aiming for a short bob.
I love pinterest and surf it waaaay more than I should. I mostly pin funny pictures and painting inspirations, but lately as a FTM I've been obsessively saving everything on baby CPR, feeding, diapering, sleep schedules... etc.
I am currently desperately browsing Pinterest trying to find something similar to these lemon drops/bites I had the other day. They were similar in size to a peppernut but rolled in powdered sugar and they were sooo good!
My last pin was a super cute, definitely-not-pregnancy outfit, because at 25ish weeks I've definitely popped and feel huge, so my fantasizing about pre-pregnancy body/life has developed richly. But nobody here needs that, so I'll be mum on the subject.
Food wise: 3 ingredient Nutella cookies. Because I'm hosting a brunch again this upcoming Sunday, and effort level is inversely proportional to how pregnant I feel. (Plus three ingredient ANYTHING if Nutella is 1/3 of it can't be bad)
My favorite is finding people's Pinterest fails, where whatever they made didn't turn out even CLOSE to what they found on Pinterest. I leave the baking to everyone else. It's hard enough to think as is right now, lol.
@gh515 Monday UO: Nutella is gross. honestly I think I like the taste but one time I bought a container of it and there was oil (?) on top (which I know is separation) and I just couldn’t get over the thought of eating chocolate flavored oil.
@ShawnnaO I respect that UO. I don't like most nutty flavors in foods (especially peanut oil, ugh), but Nutella gets a pass from me. But my Nutella has NEVER had any oil separation on the top... that's just nasty, and would definitely take any product out of rotation for me.
@ShawnnaO Honestly, my gut instinct was that you got a nasty outlier jar instead of a magical jar of joy. In my decade of Nutella experience, I never had oil separation in the container. But hazelnut is definitely a love-it-or-leave-it flavor, and ANY bad experience with food takes it out of my lineup permanently (I no longer eat most meat or ice cream for this reason), so I figured challenging your very valid UO was a witch move.
Re: GTKY - Pinterest!
I use Pinterest for everything, but I thought this looked like a fun little finger painting project I could do in the new house for some “me time!”

I also pin recipes, hair cut ideas, and inspiring images for stories.
