IF Testing and Treatment 12/11

This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another.  Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this like an ongoing conversation.

Diagnosis (If you've been):

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA):

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?)

How are things going?

Any questions?

GTKY: Tell us about one of the craziest things you've done.

"It's time to try defying gravity."

@kiwi2628 We are planning on getting a golden puppy HOPEFULLY in Feb! I personally think you should go for it!! We have a chi mix and lost our golden last year and just feel like something is missing from our family. I figure if my FET is in Feb or March we’ll have plenty of time to train him.

@KristoKekerooni That stinks you had to dip into your fund and yes tires are NOT cheap but 100% necessary that’s how I see it! And wow that is a long distance if you have to drive.

@Redpuma119 It was awesome! Sorry for the BFN

    @laurad75 FX for you!!

@AlohaKumu That trip sounds AWESOME! We did a cross country trip but only one way, I drove My friend out to CA and flew home about 7 years ago.

@RVAmom315 Hope you feel better soon. I had The stomach flu a few weeks ago thankfully it only lasted 24 hours.

  • So, @tamalahoops , I need to head home pretty quickly after ET. Since we are hoping for a fresh 5-day transfer, that's a lot of time away from work, on a short notice. It's so hard to make decisions now, but I also don't want to plan and buy tickets, in case a fresh transfer doesn't happen (OHSS or something). I don't want to sit there for 5-6 extra days for nothing, if I'm gonna have to come back in a month, you know?

  • @kariann323 I am on femara, which is somewhat different from clomid, but I also expected to ovulate earlier. I haven't noticed much of a change on the day, but my OPKs have started to get darker sooner, so maybe it surges differently? I think it depends on the day you take it. Are you 3-7?

  • @AlohaKumu My current funny fave tv shows that are bingeable are: Master of None, Difficult People, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. I'm mostly a true crime or first person narrative podcast person so my suggestions there are limited. But if you're into true crime, My Favorite Murder is a true crime comedy podcast that has a ton of episodes. Not necessarily funny but interesting and distracting podcasts: Snap Judgement, Invisibilia and if you have listened to S-Town yet, definitely that one!

  • @shortstack930 Personally, I'd get the meds now.  And if your a SS then it'll be amazing and I'd be pumped that I spent $125 and don't have to go through anymore nonsense.  I'd gladly "throw away" that money to not have to use the meds!  If it were between $125 or $200 I'd say to wait, but that'll be a nice chunk of change

@SkilledSailor and @jrm_14 Yes as soon as AF shows her ugly face I will start stimming! HOWEVER, since I have yet to hear back from my financial coordinator about the ICSI so they may throw me on BCP till insurance has cleared it :/ I’m hoping everything falls into place. My septum surgery is scheduled for Jan 8TH!! Once I’m healed from that(hoping it’s only one cycle but in reality it’s probably 2 :( ) As soon as I get The go ahead it’s FET time. Thinking it’ll be more like March.

  • @Avrilmai I would see if you need a referral at all and if not just go. I didn't have a referral to see my RE and they were totally cool with it. I have my OB and he knows absolutely nothing about infertility diagnosis or treatment. I would check insurance coverage and requirements and start calling around. Even if you end up needing a referral there could still be a long wait before you can be seen. I'm sorry youre at this point.  :/

  • @Avrilmai my OB was going to refer us but only after I went through hoops doing testing.  I asked them who they would refer me to so I could get my husband in for a SA in the meantime and he was just able to call and get in. Once they realized he had low count, we kind of just went with it and did what we had to do. I never needed a referral.  Maybe just ask who they'd refer you to - you can do some research if they have more than one option and at least make yourself an appt if possible to just have your foot in the door if there's a long wait.
